[Q] HTC One X Charging LED Dim - HTC One X

Hey Fella's
First time posting, I own an HTC One X CID_044 and it fell once 2-3 months ago, after that I noticed that the charging LED has become very dim and is barely visible until or unless I turn of all my room lights and even then its barely visible. Should I send it to repair or are there any steps on repairing it myself. I have tried all softwares that brighten the LED but its of no use. Sometimes the light comes out of two of the small holes near the LED and is verry dim. is there any suggestion on opening the device and repairing it myself.
Thanks

Well, probably, due to the fall it got displaced so it's no longer in the position it's supposed to be and that makes it barely visible...
You COULD take the device apart and repairing that BUT I WOULD STRONGLY SUGGEST NOT to do that.
If it doesn't bother you TOO MUCH just leave it alone, and if you still have warranty bring it to a official service...

The led is pretty solid in the pcb I doubt the drop moved it.
Most likely it's a dirt build up, mine went dull and went almost out opened the case and cleared it now it's bright as new.

Thanks, I will probably let it slide.

No need to take it apart... I had the same problem on mine and just carefully poked a thin bit of wire in the hole to dislodge the gunk and hey presto it's good as new.

I has it too in a similar matter. And seen few of those mentioned here as well. Depends on you. That metallic rim or where the screen meets the rest of the body is not tight. (maybe not even sealed) and it leaks the light.
Its up to you and how big the gap is if you wanna bring it back or no. Some ppl said they will return some dont care.
I seen mentioning where this led to dust under the screen(not the light, but the gap). If the shop you got it from is not far, maybe you can ask them if they can exchange it?
thank you, i just change it with a new one.

[Q] Back light only comes on after replacing LCD and Digitizer

Hello, and I appreciate everyone who has taken a look at this post.
I recently replaced my LCD and Digitizer. A couple of months ago I dropped my phone into the bilge(bottom of a boat) filled with oil. When this happened the digitizer had a crack in the corner and the LCD got flooded with oil, not to mention the phone. I took of the back cover and let the oil drain out. I didn't open up the housing or anything. I soaked up as much oil as possible. Still though, half of the screen was a few shades darker and difficult to read text messages and playing games were out of the question. Everything else was fine, the OS didn't slow down and I saw no signs of rust anywhere.
During the holidays, I got the digitizer and LCD. So I followed the video on youtube from this website on how to take apart the Xperia Play. I replaced the LCD and I used the same adhesive strip over again with the digitizer. Now when I turn on my phone, it vibrates, but the back light comes on periodically for about 2-3 seconds and then turns of. And then a few minutes later the back light will turn on and turn off again. i get no picture from the LCD. I have turned it off and on a few times. Same thing. I have also tried turning it on while holding the power button and random combinations of the other buttons. I plugged it into my pc and when the back light goes off, my computer detects a device but shortly after losses it.
I have read through other threads to see for similar stories. The only thing i can think of is maybe, I damaged the strip of the LCD or i fried my mother board. I just would like to know if it is another problem or if anyone has some good solutions for this.
If anyone can help me, it would be greatly appreciated. I love this phone and this n00b needs some help. Lol.
If it was just oil you dropped it in then the electronics will probably be fine as it is non conductive so the problem probably lies somewhere else. I do many phone repairs, mainly to iPhones, HTC's etc, but I have never done an XP so not too sure on specifics but what you describe would probably be ribbon cable related, either not a perfect connection or slightly damaged. It only takes a slight nick on the ribbon to render it useless. I replaced a digitizer on an HTC sensation once and the phone did exactly the same as what you describe. I took the new one off and put the old cracked one back on and the phone was normal again.
Dunno how much that helps but hope it's of some use

Help screen problem.Pure Alcohol spilt

Hello everyone you kind assistance is needed
Here is the problem I accidentally spilt lots of Alcohol(the kind you use to disinfect a wound or something) on my HOX.
Now the screen is bright white in one section and sort of grey on large part on the botom of the screen.
The phone appart from that works fine.
My intial though was to turn it off pluged it for charging leave it and hope for the alcohol to evaporate.
I plan to leave at that for like at least half a day.
Is there is something else you can propose?
In case it proves to be a hardware problem and I have to replace the screen can you give me an estimate of the screen price?
By the way I am in Greece.

White light spot on screen between sim and sd slots on T325

EDIT: Someone please move this post to troubleshooting, this is between my first posts on this forum, sorry.
Hello,
I have an issue with my T325, I have a white light bleed spot that is visible only on white or light pages between the two slim slots (in the middle of the screen but a bit to left). They are not dead pixels, many cheap phones have such a brighter spot.
I bought the tablet brand new 5 months ago, I have warranty for one and a half more years but it takes half a month or more until they see, repair and return the device if I send it in. (I haven't paid for premium service)
The spot appeared about 3 months ago but I told myself that I will not change my otherwise perfect screen for a brighter 0.3cm white spot even if it's a little annoying sometimes ( I had already exchanged two tablets until I got one without dead pixels or dirt inside the screen). I haven't dropped, pushed the screen on that point or did anything that could have damaged it.
However, at the beginning of this month i wiped my screen with a cloth that had something very hard on it and I didn't see and managed to get a deep 1 cm scratch (I can actually hook my nail in it) exactly in the middle of my screen and I didn't have a screen protector (who needs one on a tablet ? ). I am thinking on convincing somehow the service to change the screen because of the light bleeding. The two issues are unrelated, there is only one scratch on the screen clearly from a swiping motion.
Does anyone have an idea on whether the screen is defective or there is some strain in that point ?
Did anyone have a similar issue and managed to solve it ? Should I try sending it in ?

Notification LED not working

I've just bought used One m9, it was like 100$ under regular price range, that is the reason i bought it. It's missing camera lens cover, and has few big scratches and maybe a little one on camera(whith i'm planning to change if that's really it), that is just, lets say, cosmetic problems.. Thing that bothers me most is that led notification is not working, not even when charging. I've tried that diagnostic things(i mean that *#*#34...), no luck there too. So, what can i do to check if it's software of hardware problem? Thanks in advance.
info on device: 6.0andr, official rom, not rooted.
I have same problem. No obvious issues with device outside of scratches. Doesn't work when charging either. Would be very curious if there is some kind of software thing that works.
It has probably been dropped and broke the led. If it is the front camera with all the damage then it explains a lot.. If the rear camera is damaged then the top of the phone has probably taken an impact damaging various stuff..

I thought that was the reason too, but hoped that is some kind of software bug or anything else software related. Thanks for replies guys.
did you ever get it fixed? mine has the same issue, i think i might just have to live with it broken
Hi,
i had the same problem, the indicator light stopped working and i don't even noticed it.
I tested the LED with the HTC service test nothing, i flashed different images nothing.
I searched for replacement parts to fix it, im not 100% shure but i think the LED is on the Camera Board you can find it on fixit.
After 4 hours i just grab a toothbrush and clean the area over the led and it worked ! It was just dirt over the notification LED.
i hope this is helpful for somebody

It so is! I thought mine was done for for easily over a year. Read your post, grabbed a toothbrush and low and behold, a tiny little LED appeared!
To add to the usefulness of your post I'd like to note to anyone reading how small the LED is on this thing. It's the size of ONE of the little holes on the speaker, on the bottom row, about 5 holes in from the right edge. It's super tiny, so It's apparently easily covered with dust.

Hi, only to inform, just in case you plan to clean again later, it's the 7th hole starting from the right-bottom one
