I can't be sure which rom I was on when it started, could have been tasks or Illusion or Quantum, but my upload speed is terrible. My data dl speed is decent for h+ around 4-5 Mbps, but my upload is practically non existent, 2-10 kbps, I've flashed a bunch of different modems and roms, and I can't seem to fix it. Also my service plummets when I turn on WiFi, like 0 to 1 bar... dk what that's about but any ideas would be helpful.

Is there a reason I'm getting less than 1mb download on my wifi even though I get almost 20mb on my PC? The upload speed works fine as I'm getting close to 5mb, same as my computer. This is even if I'm standing right next to the router. Honestly isn't any faster than what I get on 3G. This is on stock eclair, rooted.

Hello. Does anyone else have this problem? Once I rooted my evolution it only picks up 2g when it used to get 3g in these same areas. Is this normal? Thank you all for your help!

Did you change your Rom? How are you certain your only getting 2g?
If you chanced the rom, you might only be seeing the "1x" when you really used to have it displayed 3g. Is it sense or AOSP?
I've flashed the stock back on when I was wondering about a certain area, still 1x speeds, but showing 3g.
Hope that helps.
Sorry about the lack of info. Im running cm7 with firstblood theme and it displays 2g. Before this I had miui and it showed the 1x like you said earlier. The speeds are still pretty good though. Just wondering if this is normal. Thanks for the help!

As long as your speeds are the same as hey were before, or close, then I wouldnt worry about it. It could just be a glitch in the rom that is recognizing 3g as 2g.
Can anyone help with an issue I get using AOSP/ICS roms. On a GB rom I normally get 1-4 bars of signal in my house, 3G speed is fairly rubbish but it does work. Whenever I flash any version of CM9 or AOKP I get 0-2 bars of signal, and mostly no mobile data.
The phone can be sitting on a table and show 2 blue bars, often if I pick it up it will change to none and give me network errors. I can normally still send texts and make calls when it is like this, just no data and things like Play Store fail to connect.
Calk's ICS rom may be a little better, but not much (the signal meter on Calk's bounces between 1x and 3G along with low bars).
Switching back to a GB rom I get all my signal back and the slow but actually working 3G. I have tried several modems on both GB and ICS and they show no difference in behaviour (I have tried EL29, FD10, FD16)
Since I have wifi at home it's not a real issue for data, however it seems to kill the battery searching for a signal. The "Time without a signal" shows 20-30% most of the time on ICS, vs 0% on GB.
Any ideas on why ICS roms are giving me no signal?
Cheers,
Richard
I've been getting the same thing but the connection seems to be the same as when I was getting more bars on GB. This is especially true when I'm using Wi-Fi. I'll get one bar of signal strength but it is still fast and I'm nor having connection problems.

i'm having a similar problem, only difference is that mine on ICS was working fine untill i softbricked and restoring back to ICS using CFRoot.. now i (just like you) have 0-2 bars, and have tried dozens of modems and kernels to fix the problem..
eh, maybe i should go back to GB too - see if that fixes my problem
If you search around these forums you'll find something bout getting rid of proxies that the sprint server uses... some people have reported great success and increased service while others have had no noticeable difference, I myself haven't gotten around to trying it, bit I still plan to, sorry I'm mobile right now and can't find the post, I'll see bout linking it when I get home

I've done this on a couple phones and I've gotten good improvements each time. It will only affect your 3g speeds and not 4g, and it's not a guaranteed improvement.. there are many factors that can affect. Check your speeds before and after to see if it helps you or not! =)

I've yet to see anything on my N2 register more than 10mbps down or 4mbps up when using wifi as the data path. It doesn't matter if the speed test is using an internet-based speed testing server, or if I transfer a file to one of my wired LAN PC's.
Oddly enough, I sometimes get faster speeds with HSPA (25+ mbps). It doesn't matter what router I connect to (I have several AP's on my network) - whether at home, neighbors, work, or family. Both my N2 and my wife's show the same type of speed limit.
Not only is it slow, but it's very erratic. I've tried all the standard suggestions (turning of power save mode, always on during sleep, etc), but none of these matter. Both 2.4GHz and 5GHz have the same speed caps.
With all that being said, I'm curious:
What are your maximum DOWNLOAD speeds you've experienced using a WIFI connection?
I consistently get 20mbps+. On 5Ghz, Brighthouse networks, Orlando area, with Roadrunner lightning service.
I get the same as on my home wired computer... 30MB

Sure does make me wonder what's so special about my two N2's. Im running a stock deoxed, rooted rom. In fact, it's this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2091214
I wish I could say with confidence that the original unrooted rom was just as slow, but I didn't have it on my phone long enough to even test it...
What rom are you guys running?
I have gotten as high as 27-30 mbps down and 10.5 up. The down was on my home wifi. The up was in the wifi at work.
Hastily spouted for your befuddlement
I'm on stock everything. Only thing I've done is rooted and added the xposed framework to add apps to the multi Window.
I have comcast 50Mb down and 10Mb up I can ever exceed 20Mb down but somehow my upload goes over my 10Mb up
Is anyone having issues with wifi speeds on the newer roms? I've tried several of them and my wifi has been terrible. I have 18 mb at home, computers and laptops confirm this via ethernet and wifi, but my phone can only do about 3-4 at its best, right next to my laptop. Been using speedtest.net app on my phone and computers. Any ideas or anyone having the same issue?

the issues i have with Cleanrom 4.0.5 is that after a few hours or so, not really sure, my wifi literally slows down to lower than 90's dial up speeds. I just have to do a quick off/on with wifi on the phone and it is back up and at full speed. I just checked and have about 24 mb download and 41mb upload on Frontier fiber optic. My Macbook says I have 35 mb download and 18 mb upload. Who the hell knows what it is really
Well I'm not sure why you're having issues. But I haven't experience any slow speeds on my Wi-Fi! But I also have only been on Jelly Thunder Rc3, with no problems. And RC4 is out now! Recommend it..
Rom I'm on: DIAPHANES

Make sure your router isn't set on auto channel. Us WiFi analyser to check your area for other routers and the channel they are using. make sure your router is set to a WiFi channel that isn't being used by someone else. That will help. Since over lapping WiFi channels increase latency on WiFi networks.

I have the same issue. Toggling wi-fi solves the issue for me.
I'm having this issue also. I'm stock though. Toggling wifi resolves it for a few hours.
