I finally got my KF to install TWRP and flash the Stock KF ROM. My question is, how long does it normally sit at "Verifying partition size..." it has been about 10 minutes so far.
Waited until the option to REBOOT displayed, and clicked it. Now it comes up with the KINDLE stock recovery loop........ press power button to continue. I press it and it just comes back. I have tried KFU and Unbrick utilites, no luck! Options???

If you can get back into TWRP I would recommend mounting sdcard and putting a different ROM on the sdcard and trying again.

Hi guys.
I had installed one of ROM's, i even don't remember the name, it was 5 months ago.
Then in Settings I pressed to reset factory data, which deleted all my applications, personal data and etc.
After that when it restarted, it stuck in TWRP recovery mode..
I tried installing several ROMs http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1619550 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1488930 but after flashing/installing it stuck again.
what should i do? :s
i tried googleing but nothing came up .. :s
Do you have the Kindle Fire Utility installed on your PC? If so you could try using that to set you bootmode back to 4000 (normal).
If you can mount SD card and move a new rom file and gapps try aokp do a full wipe factory/data ,cache, dalvik and system reflash new rom new gapps reboot or better yet flash the new bootloader via twrp and use the power button to toggle to normal boot or change bootmode
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1632375
Download and flash FFF 1.4A from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1632375
Reboot the kindle
See the blue and white logo
Press the power button
Don't press anything, it'll select normal boot

Essentially the same thing I said in the post above but its good to have it reinforced
Hi Guys,
I have an original KF with 6.3.1 and here are the steps I've taken so far
I installed the drivers that came with KFU
In device Mgr in Win I can see Android ADB Interface
In KFU device was "Online"
I installed Root w Superuser
I attempted to install TWRP and am stuck at the part where it says...
"If you get stuck here a long time, check the ADB drivers.." and then "Do not unplug Kindle if stuck here..."
The KF is on the screen w a Blue Fire logo and says "Press power for boot menu"
I am leaving it as is until one of you kind souls can help me out...
Nothing ever is as simple as I think it should be...
Power off power on if it doesn't go to stock is, boots static to same screen or boots to black screen. Hold the power for 30 seconds then power on when you see the white kindle blue fire quickly depress the power button a few times till you get a boot menu. Select either normal boot or reset Bootmode while Will take you to the stock is or boot to black screen. If it boots to black screen repeat process of holding power button 30 second and this time select recovery if it boots to recovery you can mount your sdcard and transfer a rom.zip and gapps.zip , unmount, wipe everything except your sdcard/external storage. Then select install flash rom.zip, flash gapps.zip select reboot then system if prompted or reboot system. If none of this is good boots to black screen or fails to boot to recovery your shell is missing or broken and no recovery was installed. Then purchase a factory cable that will force it into fastboot and use kfu to send twrp to the device and use the above instructions to replace your damaged system. I know sorry slot to swallow your biggest jeopardy right now it the battery dying power it off with a 30 second hold if it will be some time before you get to it or leave it plugged it to the stock wall charger off is the best bet "IF" it is indeed off. Good luck.

Glad to hear.
Greetings,
I have a samsung galaxy nexus and tried using the most recent AOKP ROM for it. I got a status 7 error and now the device will only boot into CWM. I have made no backups and have no other ROMS. After wiping data and cache, I can finally boot, but it is stuck at the google logo. I cannot add another ROM to boot to since there is no SD to remove and you can't modify the contents in CWM.
Please send me suggestions and help, I would really appreciate it. Kind of in an urgent situation here.
Thanks!
Use adb push or sideload if you want to use cwm or use fastboot.

Hey guys,
still no luck! Please help. I can't use ADP utility because my phone does not get past the boot screen and the phone can't fastboot. Is there any utility out there to help? I downloaded a script that waits for your phone to power up then add a file to the system but it didn't help. I can still boot into CWM. I'm also a little confused on what process you do to get the phone recognized. I held down the power and volume buttons, but nothing helped.
Once again, all suggestions help.

Is there a sideload option in your recovery?

Not sure what "sideload" means, but there are four options selectable with the volume keys. They are "Start", "Shut Down", "Recovery", and "Restart Bootloader".

That is fastboot.. You need to select "recovery" with your volume buttons and then press the power button to boot into recovery. From there you can select "install from SD card". In that menu you can select "adb sideload". Choose that and google on how to do that. Its super easy once you know how ?

Research
I learned early on that doing the research FIRST saves a bunch of anxiety later. You and your GNex will be fine, just don't panic.
Hi guys, I have an issue with my Zenfone 2 (ZE551ML).
I flashed CyanogenMod 12.1 and everything was working fine. That is, until I decided I wanted to go back to stock ROM. That's when everything went wrong.
1) I went into recovery mode (using Power + Volume UP).
2) I wiped cache partition (probably my first mistake)
3) I restored to factory settings (possibly my second mistake)
4) After this I tried to flash the "recovery1.img" of the stock ROM I had.
5 ) That didn't work so I tried using ADB to flash different ".zip" files (all firmware downloaded from Asus website)
When that didn't work either, I abandoned and rebooted the phone. But it doesn't boot anymore.
It is stuck on the Asus screen and nothing happens.
Does anyone know if and how I can get out of this situation?
I must insist on the fact that I am only a novice. Until now I've only ever known iOS and have no knowledge whatsoever of how Android works.
I already posted my question here ("http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/xda-assist/possibly-softbricked-zenfone-2-t3248318") and was told I might want to try posting it here as well. I hope one of you can help me repair my mess !
Download one click root, the one with CWM recovery. Place the factory firmware on your external SD card. Run the one click batch file. Type ACCEPT, press enter, the type T4 for option 4, press enter. Let the phone boot into CWM recovery. Select the option to update from external SD, pick your file and wait about 5 mins. Back to stock you go. By the way, to get into fastboot press and hold volume up + power wait for vibration then quickly press volume down about 3 times you should be able to get to fast boot, the run the one click batch.

Thanks for the reply. Do you have a link for the one click root with CWM Recovery ? Can't seem to find it... Also, when I connected my phone to the computer and opened oneclickroot (basic) it says my phone needs to have USB debugging activated (which it did).
I can't get into recovery mode anymore, the phone just loops back to fastboot with no error message.
You just need fast boot only. Look around the forum for the CWM root its here and esy to find.

Found it but it doesn't do anything. The device doesn't even appear when I type "adb devices" in cmd. Thanks for trying to help but I'll just send it somewhere it can be fixed. I must have deleted the whole OS and now the phone is just trying to reboot but there is nothing to reboot.
Boot into fastboot, Vol Up + Power, once it vibrates quickly press and hold volume down a few seconds. Fastboot should appear. Then run the batch file. Adb does not run in fastboot mode.

there is still hope ... go for a lower version of recovery, boot (flash it in fastboot) and then keep the rom by keeping it in the external sd card renaming it to MOFDS_Update (i dont remember the name ). flashing should be done on its own...
search "Tutorial Upgrade / Downgrade / Unbrick Zenfone 2" in Asus ZenTalk. it helps for me
Thank you all for trying to help but I wasn't able to repair the phone.
I sent it back and by some miracle they accepted to give me my money back. Buying a new one now but I won't do anything stupid with it this time !
I followed the steps to flash TWRP and FFF through fastboot using cmd, and it worked, i flashed the OtterX bootloader from https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50852363&postcount=2 and i rebooted from recovery, and it shows the otterx boot options at the bottom, and i can use the power button to get in and look at the advanced menu, but when i select and long press Continue Boot or Recovery Boot then it just reboots back to the same screen and nothing happens. If i wait too long it just entirely turns off, so i don't know what to do from here. I am using an original kindle fire.
