Question - Back up of EFS folder - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4

Hi,
This may have addressed before however I keep reading about having a back up of EFS folder before flashing a new ROM.
Is it really necessary to have a back up of the EFS folder. If so how do I back it up? Is there an app / utility for this?
I use TMobile Galaxy S4.
Thanks in advance.

Andromizer from Play Store allows you to backup/restore efs ;] I believe CWM backs up efs as well

You are ok with backup
The only issue after backup is that everything will end up in a folder named 0 inside SD cards. All sorts of critical stuff inside like S Notes, etc..
If you go back to 4.1 after CM10.1, then flash the restore-sdcard-after-downgrade.zip to get everything back in place. The file can be found in the OP below.

default backup folder is placed in /data/media/TWRP/backups/....
After doing backup your default backups localisation is usually moved to /data/media/0/TWRP/backups.. (the new file .twrps in TWRP folder is created. Backups localisation depends on where .twrp is placed.)
OK so I can find it in root browser but how do I get it visible in twrp restore?

Backups localisation depends on where .twrp is placed. Make sure file .twrp is in the same TWRP folder where your right backups folder is.

You need to change the backup location in the TiBu settings so it can see the old ones.
Since 4.3 I haven't been able to use Titanium, mainly because I've been too lazy to look up how lol.

after update to 4.3 can't register to network. IMEI isn't corrupt

Hey guys.
My international N7100 after flashing stock rom (4.3) with odin can't register to network. IMEI isn't corrupted - still shows correct one after pushing *#06#
Please help.
Did you ever backup your efs? If not, look for a folder named 'efs' through any root explorer. Not the one you are already having under /efs.
It could be under somewhere of the sdcard. Sometimes during flashing an auto efs backed up. If you found that folder, delete entire contents of the root efs folder and paste contents of the other efs. Have a look now.

I have backup of entire rom and efs.img
Then fine, is your device rooted? If yes then through cwm restore your efs.

Of your device is rooted, you don’t need to root again.

SuperSU says that I have to make manual re-root, should I just ignore it?
Did you root before? Which cwm you are using? If your device was rooted before you flash4.3 then prob is with the efs. Install philz recovery 5.15 then from custom restore, restore the efs from your backup.
That's all.

From cwm disable md5 checksum, then try.
