No it doesn't. Stay away from that app. It installs but when you try to flash CWM it bricks your phone.

You should shoot him a PM-he may ask you to extract some files from your device but he should be able to add support for your device.

Already PMed him this morning, no reply till now.
If you can get me your aboot image I can add Loki support. Since I don't have aboots I just white list devices till someone says it doesn't work, since worst case is it soft bricks.
I'm in the middle of reworking freegee so I can upload aboot images for proper support and better checking algorithm without having some soft brick to figure it out.
For now I'll remove all 986s from the whitelist.

I hope it's the right one, got it via
Code:
dd if=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/aboot of=/storage/external_SD/aboot.img
my model is the E986, Software version E98610a

What is the carrier label as detected by freegee? Some E988's it works some it doesn't, so I need to know. Also can you grab an aboot image as mentioned above?

INTRODUCTION:
I originally was building a rom that enabled serial port in an attempt to repair IMEI but decided to make a universal tool to enable the exploit instead.
You can use this new menu to access a lot of new internal settings and you can enable DIag mode (serial port) for reading and writing settings via PST.
Should work on all sgs3 phones.
DOWNLOAD:
GALAXY S III EXPLOIT TOOL
INSTRUCTIONS:
-Simply run the tool with you phone connected and follow the instructions, its a one click tool. Enjoy.
If you appreciate this and would like to make a donation you can do so here:

UPDATE:
Simple no-root solution finished for backup/restore of IMEI finished!
Thread: HERE
This video will show you the exploit being ran and a serial port being established.
This is a big step as this enables reading the IMEI (among many other settings) via PST. Normally we can simply 'write' back whatever IMEI we want at this point; but that is not the case with this phone. When we find how to write back the IMEI, the IMEI issue will be resolved.
So,
Q: Is this a full IMEI solution?
A: No, this is me posting my work in progress along with a one click tool so that the community can help finish it up.

You can be rooted without an insecure kernel. Think he's saying you need an insecure kernel that will allow you to "adb remount" and get SU in adb shell.

Correct, the first command ran is (adb -d shell su -c "mount -o remount rw /system") It installs adw and then pushes a few things to system and a few thing to data, sets permissions and reboots phone. For the sake of a simple one click tool this will require the insecure kernel.
This looks cool can't wait to try it!!

thanx op, looks easy enough.
I ran the tool and when the phone comes back I try the Geek MOD but nothing happens. Have installed the kernel and am rooted. I'm stock GS3 other than that. Any ideas of what it doesn't work?

param.lfs is not used for boot logo (although there is a copy of boot logo there) - it's already known fact long time ago.
Boot logo is inside bootloader. And since modifying bootloader is very risky with high probability of hard brick, nobody tried it (at least not in public).
Probably there is a way to tell bootloader to use logo from param.lfs. But there is no info about it yet.
That's in the bootloader. You probably don't want to mess around with it

I've edited the app description to clarify this. I thought I had made it clear on the xda post and at the top of the app description for giving credit to bliss. The bootloader is still very much locked, but we have this working exploit thanks to loki. What I did was just build loki into cwm, so instead of the rom dev or kernel dev having to run the loki patch on their pc, now everytime someone flashes a zip or uses adb sideload their boot and recovery partitions are checked and lokified if needed. This just automates the loki process slightly. Freegee also makes it a little easier to flash these modified recoveries and disable the wallpaper (lge security) if someone wants to stay on a stock rom but just debloat it.
So please do not misunderstand, I just re-implemented loki. Please edit he thread title to indicate it was loki.

i guess i dont understand? you guys could have had roms ages ago with 2nd init recovery. you could have had true cm ports with loki recovery. nothing has changed, there is two ways a device has development on it, either teh people who have it step forward or they find a dev who is interested.

Shabby is right. We could have had roms from the get go but no one either knows or wants to build. I was in the process of learning but LIFE showed up at my door and I had to take care of that first. Now that I'm single and living alone, I could get back to being a creep that lives in a basement(literally in a basement apartment), and try to learn how to build Roms.
Shabby I have a question: Is building Roms pretty much the same for all phones? Generally speaking that is. Because I will no longer have this phone much longer.
Please Help

yes, for the most part building is building. get your build machine set up, sync a repo, edit some manifests and makefiles, configure, compile! obviously there are device specific things when you are trying to debug but the process is basically the same for any cm based rom once teamlgog has the cm bugs worked out for camera, by, etc. once our cm is pretty stable I'll start putting together some roms if someone else doesn't beat me to the punch.
if you want to put together custom roms based on stock there are a bunch of guides in various places across xda on deodexing and using the kitchen, etc to modify resources and add/remove apps and features. and if you want to play around with custom kernels, there's a thread in here to get you started. good luck!

FreeGee wasn't working for E986 last time I tried. Do I have to unlock bootloader to use FreeGee app?
Today I was able to flash CM10.2 onto my E986 (orig. SW Version E98610a)
FreeGee didn't work, but I was able to flash the recovery manually (the one from the Official CM10.2 Thread) with this command (you have to be rooted to do that)
Code:
dd if=/path/to/recovery.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/recovery
after that I rebootet into recovery with no problems, made a backup and flashed CM10.2 and it worked without any problems
I hope this workes on other E986 SW Variants as well
Where do we write this code?
Via Terminal Emulator or ADB shell, but before that command, you have to enter su for root rights

Thanks
As I wrote before, you have to enter su before that command, and grant the app (e.g. Terminal Emulator) or the ADB Shell Superuser permissions
So you have to write this:
Code:
su
dd if=/path/to/recovery.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/recovery
And of course you have to be rooted for this methode

It's for LG G Pro Lite DUAL! You can port it to other versions if ya want.
Also the boot.img is for V20D firmware (D686 model only, install it only if You need it!)
Every boot/recovery.img needs to be BUMPED.
TWRP + unsecured boot.img
* You need to be rooted at least for the while to do it. The easiest way is to use KingRoot. You can uninstall it later and/or replace it with SuperSU.
1. Download the images and copy them to internal storage -> Google Drive
2. Turn on USB Debugging, then use Android Emulator or ADB shell to type those commands:
Code:
dd if=/sdcard/TWRP_2.8.7.x_d686.img of=/dev/recovery bs=10485760 count=1
dd if=/sdcard/unsecuredboot_d686.img of=/dev/bootimg bs=9437184 count=1
Root
1. Just flash SuperSU in TWRP.
Bugs
*everything should work
I didn't test External Storage, also I may provide sometime a AutoBUMP in TWRP so bumping the images won't be necessary.

okay, nice one.
by the way, i think that flashing custom boot.img may not be necessary, if it will be right, then You will have less issues on other variants like D680.
Hello there,
My options navigation button is working as a home key. When I install TRWP. How can I fix? My phone D682 not dual.
Thank you.
