[Q] Looking for rom for HTC One V US Cellular - HTC One V

Hello, I am new here and I have a HTC One V and I am wondering if there is any US Cellular roms that I would be able to flash onto it. I have flashed phones before but I can not for the life of me find a US Cellular version of rom for this phone. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No he's CDMA, they have a different system. ROMs are made for one carrier and have to be ported to another.
The CDMA carriers I know about for CDMA are Cricket, Virgin Mobile USA, and US Cellular.

GSM master race
also shouldn't this work?

There's plenty others that aren't built for specific carriers. You can always make a backup of your current rom and try those out.

you *should* be able to use slim bean 3.1 cdma for virgin mobile usa,all but your mms messaging will work. in a few days i plan on adding mms support for u.s. cellular. and do need a u.s. cellular user to try the rom out to be sure they have functioning data first. if you decide to try. backup your current rom in recovery. if your data services work ok,i will add u.s. celluar mms support. let me know by posting in the slim bean thread.

I installed the CMWRecovery.img, but the Recovery didn't work. Its version is 5.5.0.4.

look in the cdma section of forums, download and install twrp 2.6.1.

Slimbean 3.1 works very well for me.

Tried the RMK Rom. It does see the sim card and says switching to global mode now but I still do not get reception with any French carrier. I wonder if I had to do something before I left with Verizon. Some of my colleagues were told to dial *228 to activate global usage and theirs is working, so I am thinking that might be the problem.
Try the GSM/UMTS mode, instead of global, and you may have to add your carrier's APN yourself.

I put in my colleague's Verizon sim card which was activated before we left the US and it worked just fine, so obviously it was my sim card.
Thanks for all the tips.
Ah, okay! I thought you were using a local sim card.

[Q] Total noob!! htc wildfire s (marvelc) - VirginMobile

Hey guys,
I'm a total noob and will probably make a total fool of myself with my questions..
I had the Virgin Mobile HTC WFS (marvelc) phone in the states... Now I'm back in India and need to switch networks.. For that I've been told I need to unlock the phone and install a new OS (basically drop the virgin OS).. I've got the procedure and the files to s-off and root the phone.. what should I do next?
Thanks for any help!!

Call virgin mobile and get the 6 digit msl code for your wildfire s, that will unlock it, but
i dont think you could use the phone on another network, unless maybe you flash another firm ware? maybe a member here can chime in on this

Not sure of "stable" but someone has made CM9 for marvelc/virgin mobile phones. The creator of it has also made multiple ROMs for marvelc if you go to his profile. Heres the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1714550

Are there CDMA networks in India? If so, then help can be given. If there are only GSM phones in India, then you will have to get a new phone.
A GSM radio (and especially a full RUU) CANNOT be flashed on a CDMA phone. It will NOT work; you will brick your device.

@kalaker-There are a few CDMA networks around here.....so there musn't be any problem as far as Radio is concerened
@agarwalayush-S-OFF your phone,root it.....insert the CDMA sim you want.....and wait a bit.
The main dev of CM9(Modpunk) is bringing support to Marvelc(he added it in the current release but it doesnt seem to work correctly as of now)

You don't have a SIM card on CDMA. Only GSM networks have SIM cards.
Also, Simon already has a stable (for a beta) build in his CM9 thread for Marvelc. Modpunk will have to start a new branch to full support Marvelc.

The only one is beta version. It's a good, stable ROM, though.
The link is in the second post in the thread.
Known Issues:
No Camera
No Bluetooth
No Wi-Fi tether
my only thought is if you had an India cdma phone that's active you can back up the AAA key and flash that to your phone (its not like flashing a ROM)

Are US and International Note II ROMs compatible?

The US variants wont have the multitasking bar. Can we root then flash the cooked international ROMs which provide this instead?
I've been meaning to ask this as well.
just picked up my Note 2 for T-Mobile and would like to know as well. i'm assuming yes since internally the US variants and international are the same except for the modem. i'm itchin to flash a rom on this...
i read post one thread they try flash G7100 rom over G7105 and got stuck in boot loop. You can search in general thread and find out
i specifically want to know about using a TMOB variant on AT&T

Root is fine In my exp, but flashing international ROM gives you the wrong baseband and you loose cell services.

just don't flash the radio (modem). probably needs some RIL fixin' and what not. then i think these roms will work across most variants.
I believe it has something to do with isis. The rep told me that all SIMs are isis now.
To maintain security, I am guessing it has to be the TMO baseband.
I could be wrong.

that's easy. just flash the correct modem from the carrier. this is going to be fun.
Yeah, this should work just fine. Does anyone have the modem files?
I have a request into Samsung for a complete dump for recovery, but no word yet.
I flashed Omega 4.1 which had a modem in it. :/

[Q] Any MTS S3 Users here?

Have you rooted your phone, are you able to get tethering to work without a tethering plan?
Is there a stock rom for MTS available yet, I've searched but found few mentions of MTS
The Russian carrier? I doubt there are any MTS specific ROM's on here, but if your phone is unlocked it would work I assume as long as the frequencies are the same. You might need a different modem. I use Task650 4.1.2. ROM, and he has Russian built in as a system & keyboard language.
lol, yes, i got MTS , was just going to askthe same question
and no its not the russian one, MTS CANADA
just got my s3 3 days , and still didnt find a root!
Just found this and works http://androidjinn.com/root-galaxy-s3-i747m-vldlk4-android.html
All Canadian carriers of Galaxy S3 are using the SGH-I747M which is the SGH-I747 on AT&T. You can use Roms from AT&T Galaxy SIII sub-forums. I am currently on MTS here in Winnipeg with my S3.
naztybox, what root did you use??
If you want free-tethering, why not use FOX-Fi from the Google Play store? You don't even need to be rooted to use it.

I am on MTS also. I used the toolkit available from the AT&T forum to root my phone, install CWM, etc. The toolkit is the easiest to use. Just use option 53 for your device and it will work perfectly. Here is a link to the thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1746665

To use tethering you just need to go into your APN settings for sp.mts and change APN type from internet + mms to interet mms and dun. The factory tethering app should now work!

Hey - new GS3 user on MTS. If any of the ROMs / Kernels are compatible with Rogers, would they also be compatible with MTS? I want to 100% confirm this before I start flashing anything new. I was able to root following the "Simple" root instructions posted in the sticky in this forum...

Hey I had the exact same issue and I thought it was just the AOKP rom I put on my phone that maybe wasn't compatible with MTS so I tried Slimbean and same issue came up so after looking into it I found this and it works.
Google this "MTS APN" and the first link should be an MTS link saying "Using Non-MTS Devices | MTS" click on that one and follow what it says under Android Operating System.
I tried just posting the link but I can't until 10 posts to prevent spam.
