Hi, need a mod to kill the foreground app by long pressing back button, or any way to kill an app with one touch, anyone?
Hold back to kill is built in to tdunham 's AIO. MOD..

I'm unsure about boost mobile compatibility, but you could ask in the thread. If compatible, you'd install the AIO 4.5.
The sound unlink is a separate MOD that unlinks all volume controls to operate independently. Some were experiencing all volumes turning up and down when trying to adjust the volume for just notifications, ringer or system etc...
Edit: tdunham has moved from Sprint to boost mobile recently, so I would think he made it compatible. You could always make a nandroid backup before trying. Open the "spoiler" button from the OP to see everything included in the MOD. It really transforms your phone in a very positive way.

I downloaded GB27.AIO.Mod.Rev4.5.Deodex.zip, put it on external sd card, from cwm chose install zip from sd,
After reboot the only difference I noticed was that the home screen background was black, everything else was the same.
I have been trying to get that longpress back to kill for last couple of days with no success, that was the only reason I rooted the phone.
Yes, you can use this on Boost versions. The AIO does include the back to kill mod, if you've flashed it, it will work. You wouldn't notice any immediate changes as any changes you would need to make using the 3minit app that should now be in your app drawer. You did download the app correct? It's now a separate download, and the link can be found in the OP of the AIO thread.
Also, in the future, please post questions in the Q&A forum. That's why it's there

Any screen shots? Care to explain what each flash file contains? Also, if we are running the stock RMK and the new radio, do we skip to part 3?
Can we get pictures and are these simply SEO's Sense 3.0 port files renamed?

I am also willing to test this out once at home. I have a stable GB rmk rom anyway but I would like to try something new. Some screens/reports would be nice. If I get to install it soon I'll report back here.

Script Version!
Code:
This time I present to you a script that will in theory (and so far for me, in reality) save us some battery without having to risk our hardware with undervolting! I present to you...
[B]CPU Sleeper[/B]
[QUOTE]Honestly the Script can be made to work with any Dual Core / Quad Core! The Only Problem is you need to be Rooted!
~ Currently the issue with CM9, is that the boot becomes incomplete while in init.d folder without Modification to the sysinit..
~ however, with any rooted device you can download the script & continue to use it via a script manager app on every boot.
~ With the Script Manager App, this script virtually can run on any Multi-Processor CPU
Hope that clears things Up,
~~Eugene[/QUOTE]
[U]What is it?[/U]
Its a fairly simple script that will put CPU 1 OFFLINE when the screen turns off. Once the screen comes back on, it will allow CPU 1 back ONLINE.
[U]How does it work?[/U]
Since we have dual core CPUs, we have a CPU 0 and a CPU 1, core 1 and core 2, while the screen is off we really only need to have 1 core active, this script will make sure CPU 1 shuts off while the screen is off, then resumes normal usage when the screen comes back on.
[B][COLOR="red"]WARNING! READ THIS![/COLOR][/B]
This script relies on init.d OR script manager! CM9, for some reason, tends to run this at the exact same time it runs some other script (I forget atm which) and it will clash, causing no boot! CM9 users MUST use the script manager version install! Flex Reaper appears to work fine with it as init.d. I strongly urge you to use the script manager version of this, NOT the flashable version. Always make a nandroid backup before modifying the system, including this!
[U][COLOR="Red"]Instructions[/COLOR][/U]
Available in 2 versions, script only version which you can place wherever you want and run however you want, or a CWM/TWRP flashable zip that will place the file for you in /system/etc/init.d and set permissions.
[I]Version 1: Flashable[/I]
Same as any of my flashable releases, I did most of the work for you!
Make a full backup
Download to external SD card
Install from SD card
Pick the cpu sleeper zip file
it'll be almost instant
reboot
Shouldn't be any need to clear caches or anything like that.
[I]Version 2: Script only[/I]
This can be run in 2 ways, via init.d support, or via script manager. Both are pretty similar, and can be done a number of ways, however this is the basis of how.
[U]Init.d supported kernel:[/U]
Make a backup!
Download the script file, making sure no extensions get added onto the file. Copy the file to /system/etc/init.d and set the permissions to the following:
XOX
XOX
XOX
Once done, reboot the system, and it will take effect when your system is finished rebooting.
[U]Script Manager[/U]
This method is probably the better method, and should work with any kernel/ROM. Download the script file, making sure no file extensions get added, and copy it to /system/etc. Set the file permissions to:
XOX
XOX
XOX
Once done, load up script manager, select browse as root (if it isn't already set from the crossix mod method in the guide) then browse to /system/etc and select the script file S98cpu_sleep, then select ROOT and BOOT options. After this is set, reboot system.
[U]What do I do if I can't boot after using this?[/U]
You made that backup, right? Ok, then here is what you do.
Hold the power button until the tablet powers off
Press and hold the volume down button, next to the screen lock switch
Press and hold Power (while holding volume down)
Once the recover kernel message comes up, release the buttons
In CWM go to advanced, mounts, mount system, then format system
In TWRP, go to wipe, then wipe system
In CWM go to restore, advanced restore, restore ONLY system
In TWRP select restore, then uncheck all so ONLY system is checked
After restoring system, wipe cache and dalvik cache, then reboot system.
System should boot normally.
[B]Downloads[/B]
Available in 2 versions, script only version which you can place wherever you want and run however you want, or a CWM/TWRP flashable zip that will place the file for you in /system/etc/init.d and set permissions.

Not sure why previous thread was closed, as no reason was given, but the flashable works FINE on my phone. I had no issues whatsoever. If everyone were to follow the instructions listed they would see that they are advised to make a backup IN CASE something does go wrong and it won't boot. Major props for this man. Just curious, but I noticed that after flashing this it seems that when the screen is off the phone downclocks to 384k KHz. I do have a profile on SETCPU for when screen is off to downclock to 594k KHz. I'm assuming that this script is what is downclocking this below the minimum i had set in SETCPU?

Are you referring to script manager? I went through the OP a couple of times and that's the only mention of an app I see. I could use that method but I still have to paste it into system/etc. Not trying to be difficult just want to make sure I'm jot going blind.
Edit. NM. I see it now
Thanks for reposting the apk and not punishing all of us:good:
This mod is a flashable zip which was created by biohazrd51 and I. It changes the 'H' icon in the status bar to the '4G' one. See below for all devices.
Note that it works for Mimicry only. Also, you will lose this mod every time you update the rom. I will take no responsibility if you magically transform your phone into a new device, the HTC paperweight
That said, all you need to do is:
1. Download the attached update-signed.zip to the root of your sd card.
2. Reboot into recovery, and make a nandroid backup, incase anything goes wrong. (It shouldn't)
3. Then, select install from sd card, and click on the update-signed.zip.
4. Reboot and enjoy.
Any questions,feel free to ask.
*Edit* blk_jack has put together a flashable zip that'll modify the H icon to 4G on any ROM (hdpi only). This also works in JB.This doesn't actually replace the SystemUI.apk, it just replaces the icons inside it and re-zip/zipaligns it.
Download and flash through recovery:
http://mimic.ca/~jeff/h_to_4g-blk.zip
If we have helped you, don't forget to press thanks!
blk_jack said:
Hm, which SystemUI.apk are you guys using for the base? The reason I ask is because mimicry contains many SystemUI changes that other cm9 based roms don't have. Replacing that file will break things for sure.
There are definitely better ways of doing this than providing a SystemUI.apk to flash over, though. I'll see what I can do.
EDIT:
Alright I just put together a flashable zip that'll modify the H icon to 4G on any ROM (hdpi only). This should also work in JB, though I haven't tested it. This doesn't actually replace the SystemUI.apk, it just replaces the icons inside it and re-zip/zipaligns it.

It won't do that if you add addon.d support for it in /system/addon.d/ to preserve the SystemUI.apk app during updates. (course it would be better to perform the update and simply flash the zip back over it due to the type of app being modified).
Though instead what you could do is have a script in /etc/init.d/ to swap out the icons on bootup, and use the addon.d script to preserve that init script. That'll keep without having to reflash it all the time, like is already don't with google apps, or my dataswap/sd-ext enabler.
*Edit*
This also works in Jelly Bean, tested not too long ago.

HomeKey Wake Disable/Enable
I have created a couple of simple CWM-flashable zips that will disable the homekey as a wake button (homekey-wake-disable.zip) and re-enable it (homekey-wake-enable.zip).
I got the idea for these after running jt1337's TuchMi S3X v5.0 rom. In the Changelog for his rom, he had listed disabling the homekey wake as a feature on v4.0. However, on v5.0 he had reverted to the v3.0 base, and the homekey wake disable feature was removed. I felt that making this as a separate mod would be a good idea, since I HATE having the homekey as a wake button!
After doing a little digging, I found the keylayout files, and modified them directly on my phone to test if the change would be as simple as I thought it was. And it is! So I quickly copied the modified files out to my sdcard and made the homekey wake disable/enable zips.
IMPORTANT NOTES/DISCLAIMERS!!!
\begin disclaimer\
This MOD should NOT cause any permanent damages to your phone. It simply removes/adds two words to two files. WITH THAT BEING SAID, I am NOT responsible for any damages, losses, or nuclear holocausts caused by your flashing of either of these zips. YOU are the one flashing the files, and you are responsible for your own actions.
\end disclaimer\
\begin notes\
This has only been tested on Samsung-based roms. I run a Samsung-based rom, and I have no desire or intention of switching to AOSP-based roms. Well, for now anyway! In THEORY this should also work on AOSP-based roms, although I am not 100% sure of the location of the keylayout files on AOSP base, nor am I 100% positive that AOSP-base uses identical keylayouts. If you are running an AOSP-based rom (i.e. CM9/CM10/AOKP/etc.) and you wish to test this mod out, please feel free to do so, keeping this in mind: if the homekey-wake-disable.zip does NOT work, or if it causes unwanted side effects, DO NOT FLASH homekey-wake-enable.zip!!!! More than likely, any problems caused by homekey-wake-disable.zip on AOSP-base are due to differing keylayouts/file locations, and homekey-wake-enable.zip will NOT fix those issues. Simply re-flash your rom package to undo the changes. However, if homekey-wake-disable.zip DOES work on AOSP-base, please let me know, so I can remove this note!
Thanks to jethro650 for testing this on task650's AOKP build!! It SHOULD work on all AOSP-based roms, However, any reports from other AOSP-based roms would still be highly appreciated!!
The homekey-wake-enable.zip is ONLY intended as a way to revert the changes made by homekey-wake-disable.zip. It is NOT designed for ANY OTHER PURPOSE!! If you have a rom that has homekey wake disabled already, it may OR MAY NOT work to enable the homekey wake feature!!
\end notes\
To disable the homekey as a wake button
1. Download the homekey-wake-disable.zip and copy it to your sdcard
2. Reboot to recovery
3. Flash the zip.
4. Reboot and you're done!
To re-enable the homekey as a wake button
1. Download the homekey-wake-enable.zip and copy it to your sdcard
2. Reboot to recovery
3. Flash the zip.
4. Reboot and you're done!
To re-enable the homekey as a wake button (alternate method)
1. Reboot to recovery
2. Reflash your rom zip
3. Reboot and you're done!
Both zips work on task's 10/31 aokp build paired with kt's 10/31 kernel. Zips flashed with twrp 2.3.1Thanks for your work.

Thanks for testing that! I would have tested it myself, but I haven't gotten bored enough with sammy base to jump over to aosp yet!

Any chance you can write a mod to disable volume rocker while screen locked?

What exactly do you mean by "disable volume rocker while screen is locked"? Are you saying that you don't want to be able to adjust media volume while the screen is off? Or are you talking about the feature available in some roms where you can use the vloume rocker to wake the screen?

Sweet. Thanks, I have found it useful and annoying to have the home key wake the phone. I prefer now to disable!

Welcome to the first fully working almost stock NE2 rom. It has all of the stock apps (including dialer) working along with all the stock functions (spen clipping). I call it almost stock because there are some changes such as tweaks and root included. I have a modified android.permissions.jar to enable the reboot menu and added init.d support to the stock kernel. Talking about the stock kernel I have also modified the ram-disk to completely remove knox. Also added in a few tweaks while I was in there.
Right now the rom will be released as Deodexed but I am working on a special odexed version with every app odexed. The ota and tar have most things odexed but not everything. Even my addon apps will be odexed. Only deodexed will be the apps you install.
Links and change logs will be located in post #2 when they are ready for public use. Change logs may appear before the link. If there is a change log and no link then it is being tested and is not ready for public use yet.
If you have an issue please report which rom version you are using (this will be located in about device under settings) and if possible add a logcat. Logcats will give the information I need to help fix the issue. If your issue shows up after you restored with TB or any other such app then it is your issue and not mine. I will only support issues with the apps I included and only if you follow every single step in my install instructions. I have way too much to do as it is without trying to fix your mistakes or some other devs apps.

Cricket MMS settings
This is the work of @mrwright83 and he has been nice enough to share so please remember to thank him.
1. go to your data settings by hitting ##3282# and select edit (depending on rom might have to enter msl)
2. go to mmsc and change it to this http://mms.mycricket.com/servlets/mms?x-cricket-mdn=999_999_9999 (9's are your phone number)
3. then go your mms proxy and change it to wap.mycricket.com
4. lastly go to mms port and change it to 8080
And that's it
For anyone wanting to use this as a base for your own custom rom feel free and remember to give credit and a link to this thread in your OP. There is no need to ask for my permission to use this since the main reason it is here is for a base for custom roms.

No problem. I know how painful these factory releases can be so this should help.
Thank for all you have done for our community!!!

Try different versions of philz recovery or reflash the version you are using now should fix that error I would think.
