Hardbricked Galaxy W

I know that my current question will be so funny. But is there any chances to revive a hardbricked Galaxy W? I saw some post said that they can revive their bricked phone, but without any detailed information
Unless you can the device is under any of the status below:
1. Still can be on, and bootable to either CWM or Download mode. (flash in stock rom using odin)
2. Power port failure, unable to charge battery at all phone cannot be on due to battery being empty completely. (send to ssc if warranty still present or use external charger like multi pin supporters).
3. Battery issue, battery is dead. (get a new battery).
Or else, if warranty is present, send to ssc, in all odds they should not detect a rooted phone because all available interfaces are hidden.
Or else, send to local phone repair shop or ssc if they provide phone repairs and see if the price to repair it is worth it and try fixing it.
(in my country, likely the price is insane )
Lastly, to the trash it goes.
Click thanks if suggestion or solution is found useful
Ssc if you still have warranty

Someone has done a Transplant Surgery. Put the motherboard of T999 into a I9300 case.
You need to treat the phone as a T999 despite what it says on the case.
We seem to be seeing a lot of these "Franken-phones".:silly:

Probably a lot of people are replacing the housing (few bucks on ebay and elsewhere) so they can sell it as "like new" or something. Thats my guess anyway.

You just confirmed it by flashing t999 firmware in Odin, otherwise it would've failed or bricked the phone, it was either the motherboard or housing as Doc said

I wouldn't bother with trying for a return if it were me. You know it's a T999, so as long as you treat it as such, you should be fine. Up to you of course, but seems like it'd be a hassle and not much fun or return. And it could be that it is new and simply was a mistake at the factory. New employee grabs wrong box of parts type scenario. ...

when this phone came it was rooted and model no showing in the about phone was " gt i9300 ". now i flashed stock rom 4.3 for t999 it shows t999 in about phone.. ? is this possible that t999 having rom for gt i9300 ? or gt i9300 have rom for t999?
It's easy enough to change what it reads in the about phone menu. I believe simply changing the build.prop value will do that.

Good to see you back Doc!
@op Best if you treat the phone as T999. I know you can make it look like I9300. But don't ever accidentally flash any of the I9300 stuff.

i have tried flashing i9300 rom when i didnt know the orignal model .. nothing hapend i tried many time to flash i9300 stock rom but it didnt brick my phone . it just get off and dont show any thing .. i tried some methods from internet it went to download mode again ... i think flashing other roms for all s3 model dont brick your phone. ? i dont think flashing t999 to my mobile confirms it that it is t999 motherboard.
If it's a t999, only T999 firmware will flash. Official firmware from any other model should fail.
And you cannot just flash any other S3's roms. I9300 and any US model are quite different from each other. The most compatible is the I747 from ATT. Other models require more work to port to our T999.

Woah. This thread just opened my eyes. I bought a I9300 phone off of ebay in a "unopened - new" condition. It came in the original box and everything (which I now know he/she just repackaged it). When I got it, I tried to flash a stock I9300 rom on it. It failed, saying "wrong dev" type. And I soft bricked it.
Now, I thought this was all my fault. I booted into download mode and it said "T999" so I thought I installed the wrong bootloader and messed it up. I opened a support thread, which had over three pages of replies. Everyone told me to get a new motherboard because I installed the wrong bootloader. Everytime I tried to flash a stock I9300 rom, it said "wrong dev_type" in download mode. Nothing flashed. I thought my phone was permanently screwed up so I returned it to the seller and he refunded me. So I didn't even have to return it... could have just flashed a T999 stock rom (maybe..).
NOW I realize, my phone was probably ACTUALLY a T999. I could have probably fixed the soft brick by just flashing a stock T999 rom. Woah. I was just flashing the WRONG stock rom the whole time? Because I thought I had a I9300?
Maybe I'm getting this all wrong, but nobody in the 3 page support thread even brought up the idea of me having a T999. This is just mind blowing.
Regardless, I now have a brand new T999 phone. That I purchased as a "T999 phone" not a "I9300-actually-a-T999-phone".

Well I guess recoveries have been updated to prevent the bricks between this phones, but this was definitely a problem before, saw too many people bricking their phones because they flashed i9300 ROMs on t999.. Either way it just won't work

To get real help from here, you really need to give more information on what went wrong. Specifically, what caused the brick? Were you flashing any firmware? If so, what were you flashing and how?
A J-Tag is the ultimate solution to any bricking problem caused by firmware failure as this forces firmware installation directly to the motherboard so if you say you tried this and it didn't work, I'm afraid it may not be a firmware problem you have.
i plug in my phone deleted all my files ALL aand then flashed firmware of Hiemdall firmware then i got PASS on odin then Galaxy icon popup and then black screen and nothing more.
You said you already tried a jtag service and it didn't work. More than likely its irreparable on that case. Sorry to hear about that....
well i got nothing to say only ccry maybe.

I hard bricked my galaxy s3 i747 when I flashed a bad modem on 4.4.2. Has anyone been able to successfully unbrick with jtag on 4.4.2?
Not to my knowledge. If a way is found it will be posted in the actual debrick thread. If its not there its not been done yet.

What repair shop is that ? Is it Samsung official service center ?
Considering the number of times your phone put you in trouble,
I suspect something wrong with your PC. Because all of us have at
some point messed up their phones and we just flash the sammobile
firmware to restore our devices to full functionality.
But that is not the case with your phone.
Speaking of company rom, i think it has the 4 file firmware.
Meaning it has PDA file (with system), BOOT(kernel),
Bootloader,BL and CSC files. Maybe he is using a pit file that works with
kitkat bootloaders.

We do not yet have a 4 file kitkat firmware. We also do not have a pit file that works with knox 2 bootloader.
You can ask the repair shop guy for the firmware. Maybe he will give those files for some price.
Take some pictures of your boot loader and some screen shots of your "about phone" from main settings. Also have a look at this app. Can give you some very detailed info about what's running on your phone currently https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vndnguyen.phoneinfo

Have you tried using kies again? Just wondering if your phone will connect thru that and maybe you could update your software thru this. ...and then maybe your could try changing firmware with Odin afterwards? ? Only an idea. I'm not an expert just a phone user like yourself.
I'm wondering if the shop you went to used something like a jtag which can restore phones directly thru chips instead of the normal Odin way we use. I'm wondering how the shop owner got his hands on a "company" rom. ...
A final solution maybe to take your phone to Samsung themselves to flash it back to its original state.
....that or sell the phone and buy another one to replace it. Might work out cheaper than sending it to Samsung because I have a feeling your not under warranty?

SGH I747 Dead ,Now replaced the board. need help !!!!

Hi there,
i just bought a samsung s3 from a friend who has been using the phone for two years without any problems. i charged it and then wanted to root it. i did it with kingoroot from playstore and got root. then i wanted the TWRP recovery for a rom flashing. i tried to power off and then i was gonna go to the download mode for Odin flashing the recovery but the phone wouldnt turn on.
took it to the technician and he said its Dead, had to replace the board. again that of SGH I747.
Now my question is how is it posibble that a phone with drivers installed on my pc automatically shows the name of GTI9300 and actually is SGHI747. i rooted with kingoroot choosing I9300 and i tried TWRP manager also For I9300. what phone do i have really now it says i9300 behind the battery(under) and the technician says its i747 american model and how to root it safely , what recovery, what rom is best for it, (battery and gaming wise)?????? Plz need REAL help guys... thatnkyou all.
Update
ok guys replaced board and the board says its i747 , the phone says its i9300 and in download mode it says t999 . by searching via imie thru a website it says IMEI Samsung SGH-T999V Galaxy S III . what the hell guys. its rooted and CM 6 recovery done too. what rom do i flash plz help .................. plz someone.
some one plz
This happened with me also but i think u should know what broadcommchipset do you have it will tell you about your phone you can also try special apps from the playstore like cpu z they can tell you what device you have be sure that these apps don't connect to the internet to do so because they might take ur imei number and look for it on the internet this way you wont know what hardware do you have. I am not an expert but i wouldn't recommend flashing rom before you know unless you have time for flashing again and again and researching unbriking...etc. plz let me know if you where able to find a solution
