So I ordered a supcase for my nexus 7.
. When I opened it I found a piece of paper saying you had to take the tablet out of the case before using a wireless charger
I plan on using a qi charger nightly.
Should I ignore the warning (liability?) Is it possible it would damage my tablet? Or possibly burst into flames?
Are other n7 cases like this too?
Seems like it would be a pain to remove it daily

I don't have a supcase myself but i have had my HP touchpad in one of those folio style leather/faux leather cases charging on the touchstone for a long time as well as my N7 in a moko super slim and their folio before it and the only thing that happens is that the case gets warm where the coils are. I don't gurantee that nothing will happen but i think they're just covering their asses in case some freak accident does happen.
Maybe the material can warp or discolor over time if its constantly subject to that kind of temps? I surely hope not as my tablet gets hotter when i'm gaming.

I have a Supcase on my N7 FHD, and a Qi charger. Well, I should have said I "DID" have, because I don't anymore, not after they all 3 burst in to flames while I was sleeping last night!!
Just joking with ya! Haha I just couldn't pass up that opportunity. I'm sure you'll be fine, and it's just a standard disclaimer to cover their butts. Just to be on the extra safe side of things, you can check the temperature of the tablet every hour or so the first 2-3 times that you charge it using your Qi charger with the case on it.

Yea man, I know you were joking about it bursting in to flames just as much as I was. I was being sincere about checking the temperature every so often to be sure that the tablet won't incur any type of damage from overheating while charging

I haven't done any extensive search but I looked the other day and stopped at some kind of plastic pouch.
So I don't think so. I'd try eBay, maybe some Korean or Chinese seller has one.

I wouldn't trust a ziploc bag to last anytime submerged. MAYBE against splashes, but I'd rather use something more reliable.

I personally have taken my phone under water using a generic water proof bag. They were 3 for $10 USD. the only problem I had was if the water put pressure on the screen it would go crazy..... I just added more air to it and held it so I had to push through the air to select what I want. Ie picture or video

Here's a short video I took so u can get an idea of how it is underwater also.

Well but the skin is definetely not made for a daily use i reckon, I mean to make sure it is 100% waterproof you always have to use a new strip of sealing tape after charging, right?
Would be good to have a modified battery cover for contactless charging. I´m starting to work on a diving base for the next 2 months, and would be good to have something covering my GNx from water.

This is true. The lifeproof case cost over a million USD to develop, and they lucked out that the iPhone 4s was compatible. Not nearly enough people own enough Gnex to make it profitable, plus the GSM would need a completely different case from the LTE. FInally, my own experience with the case sucked. You can only take it off/on 50x before it breaks (not waterproof) and it destroys sensitivity. It's something you only want when theres water around, but you can only take it off/on 50x which sucks. Also, you have to test it every time before you submerge it. The waterproof bags are way better IMO.
So mine shipped way earlier than it was supposed to (i think it said Aug 23) and so far it seems like a great case considering what I paid for it.

The Poetics have a awake unlock when you open it. Not sure on the official travel rubber case.
What's the difference between this and the Moko? I know of the physical differences but I'm asking about the feel or why one would think either is better then the other?

Any issues with the magnet being too strong and triggering the sleep/wake function when folded all the way back? I know the one for the 1st gen N7 had that problem.
Also, how flat does the cover stay on the whole screen, especially after it's been folded into stand mode?

The magnets seem just right, and they only trigger sleep when you close it.
As far at the cover staying flat, mine doesn't want to go completely flat but I assume it will go away over time.
mine shipped out yesterday, can't wait to get it.
On the first gen nexus 7 i also had the same exact case. VERY VERY nice and fits secure and snug. i love this case and can't get over how cheap it is
I'm torn between this and the Moko. Some people say the Moko is better while others say Poetic. Ordered the Moko but it's shipping out on the 23rd so I still have time to cancel and order the Poetic.

hows the front cover fit/sit? my poetic case for the old nexus 7 didnt fit perfectly, it was kinda off centered.
the moko's front cover looks off in the pics that people have been posting...
Mine fits perfectly. It does have a bit of a gap when the flap is closed shut, but it isn't something that will bother me. This case exceeds all my expectations for the quality.

The poetic fits better than the moko. I have both.
Pros
Three magnets on the side to keep a secure closure.
Doesn't open by accident easily when carrying.
Very snug
The button cut outs feel better.
No metal tab (I know some were worried about this)
Adds very little bulk.
Con's
None that I can think of but maybe it costs a little more than the moko.

Mine has shipped..base on the expected delivery (8/29), it's loaded on a pack-mule and making it's way from the west coast to the east coast.
I have a $nugg case for my N7-2012, which I live very much... kinda hoping I'll be happy enough with the Poetic to save the $$.

I've got the wireless charging battery cover from Verizon on my phone. It makes the phone a bit thicker. I was wondering if there were any cases out there that can accommodate the extra size. I currently use a Cruzerlite case that I cut a little bit to allow expansion but I'd like something a bit cleaner.
TIA for any input!

You can get wireless charging inlays that fit inside the original battery lid and as such don't increase the thickness of the device

They're practically impossible to miss, just search ebay or any number of other places for "s3 qi inlay"
Has anyone experienced any issues with the inlays? I just got a wireless qi charger and the Verizon rear case for the phone and have just been putting up with the added thickness. I wouldn't mind considering the inlays though.

They make it a bit thicker and bow the back out very slightly.
To those who currently have a qi wireless charger. Few questions as I'm about to get one.. Does the charging pad get warm? Is it ok to keep plugged in or could it be a possible fire hazard? Stupid question, I know, but I have a hard time trusting cheap stuff from china, lol. Does wireless charging charge as fast as USB? Thanks!

Occasionally. Yes it's fine. And it depends on the pad and the receiver on your phone. Mine is 650mA so it's slightly faster than USB

1. Slightly warm when in use.
2. Yes, it's fine to leave it plugged in. My one at my office desk sits on top of a pile of papers and hasn't set anything on fire yet.
I personally own this receiver (which I use with this pad, though my pads are black rather than white), which works well though my lifeproof case. No dice with the Otterbox Armour case though.
I'd recommend avoiding this charger. It doesn't work worth a damn through a case and constantly connects/disconnects.
I have the same receiver inlay as compo01, using it with a variety of pads, including an official Samsung S4 one that I modded into an ugly but functionally awesome dock

my phone gets warm during the initial charging but once it hits 100% it cools down real fast. I can think of only one other thing in this case.. you might not be aligned correctly.. but i would not think that's the case since you seem to be able to get to 100% with no problem...
I have the Verizon and the monster watts WiQiQi kit. I mainly use the Verizon back cover even though it means I can't put a case on. The WiQiQi is a nice kit but when I use it with my preferred case, one with a stand , The screen distorts and bulges. But I put the WiQiQi in my fathers phone with an otterbox and he has no issues.

Do we know the dangers of using a pouch with a magnetic closure? I noticed today that it turns the phone on. That seems dangerous to the battery! Is this because of NFC?

The Nexus 5 has the same feature as has been in the Nexus 7 2012 and Nexus 7 2013 which is the ability to turn on the screen automatically when a magnet passes over it. Many Nexus 7 cases have a magnetic clasp that unlocks it when opened. It's nothing to worry about.
