My screen is going crazy and automatically opening Google Now whenever I unlock the device or it will just flip out and open other apps or switch screens without touching the screen. Any reasons why this may be happening?
Using a non stock charger? That may be it. Have you dropped it or installed anything new?

It did it when off the charger as well. I LGNPST'd it but now I can't click on the address bar in Chrome or flick the notification drawer back up as if the screen has unresponsive spots.

If you LGNPST'd your phone and you're still having screen issues, you actually just might have a faulty unit. Are you under warranty or anything?

I think I have the Sprint protection plan and I've had the phone for less than a year.

MY phone has done this twice now. The screen with flip itself and look like I'm looking at the phone in a mirror. The buttons, words, icons are all mirrored but I still have to tap in the normal spot to get them to work.
I have to pull the battery to get it fixed. Anyone else have this happen?

I've had it happen once as well, don't know what caused it.
Some rom devs have identified the issue is with the screen orientation transition effects.

This worked for me. No one has provided any feedback as to whether it working for them or not.

It is the ICS rotation animation causing it. Sometimes you can reproduce it if you lock the screen in landscape mode I believe

I've had this happen to me a couple of times.
I never had to pull the battery to fix it though... All I had to do was turn the phone to a different orientation, and then turn it back.
Whenever I had that issue I just tilted my phone sideways and it fixed it. Did you try putting it in landscape mode after the issue?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
I tried everything, it would even rotate mirrored. If it happens again, I'll try stuff

When it happens to mine I just unlock it and turn it to the side then back up, goes back to normal after.
Originally I was only able to get out of it by pulling the battery. If you use a lock pattern it doesn't respond correctly to touch inputs.
I went to take a screen shot of the screen while it was upside down/mirrored, and when it shot it the screen went back to normal. I was able to unlock the phone. Seems like an easy enough workaround till the problem is resolved.
Hello I have 4 perfect circles going vertically on the right half of my screen, they are about a half inch diamenter. They have an outline of about a 1/10th of an inch outline.
Anyone else have this issue? I tried to take a screenshot but this is a screen issue so it doesn't come out on the pictures. Ill try to get a picture.
Any input on what they could be??
They are more easily viewed on whote backgrounds or any light color background

First ive heard of that. Probably need to try to send it back for exchange.

Did you have an image on screen for an extended period of time? This sounds like a burn in. It happens on these screens when something is on the screen without moving or any changes. It just burns in. If you go thru some of the settings on the phone there is an option that helps against this.

I have nothing of that shape 4 circles...
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
If I use my alarm clock the stock Android one and dim the screen so the large clock shows will that lead to a burn in? It's something I would always do with my old lcd but now I'm scared with this phone
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
Are you using a screen protector? If so, try the burn in test without that on and see if those circles are still there. It might just be the screen protector.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
The four circles may be correlated to the four fingertips of your left hand. Could it be that the screen protector is damaged with some kind of oil deposits? Have any KFC lately
I have the same thing. You only see it when you look at the phone from the side... so I don't mind at all

Yes leaving the screen on all night with the clock can cause burn in.

Wait.... so any image in the background can cause burn-in on these screens? That's some BS....I always have a background with images on for a good period of time....
Its always something.

pretty much SOD > sleep of death. Toggling the power button can fix it. Generally a rough app force closing or bad sleep off settings. o=

Haha! that's what everyone said. Even the Sprint guys who fixed it were shocked..
Mine is not quite like that, my screen still works fine but if I lock my phone repeatedly it will eventually cycle to this odd issue to where they white keys light up but the screen does not. Once the issue tosses then I can hit the lock key again and the screen is fine..

Really NO ONE AT ALL?
Its the tmobile my account icon. With that app your plan’s usage information will be updated once per day and display in your phone’s notification bar. The T-Mobile My Account icon will also display in your phone’s status bar until this feature is disabled.
To disable this feature, open the T-Mobile My Account app and select Menu > Options or deselect the check box located on the first screen of ‘What’s new in T-Mobile My Account’.

Honestly its hard to tell. But the screen facts: each amoled screen is made up with certain amount of chemicals and that pink spot might be from an excessive amount of one chemical or just a pressured pixel area. Either way it should be under warranty

I'm guessing by the Google Window. Is there a screen protector? Could be that, just do the screen test in *#0*# and see if it still appears. Otherwise, maybe he spilled some ink or something, I really doubt it's under the screen but anything is possible, in that case do a rma.

Yes, just as the lock screen comes up, but then it seems fine. Strange.
BS...
u mean with the screen facing the ground? or the volume buttons near the ground, im confused, maybe a pic/vid would help
The launcher FC'd but after acknowledging the event everything is fine.
A video showing the issue being reproduced may be useful so we can identify it.
The second time I tried this I noticed when the glowing x was about to be replaced with the lock screen the x dropped to the bottom center of the display, as if the height on the display was two times the actual size.

Seems normal booting forme. Didn't try max. Brightness

I got the glitch, but it didn't really seem to affect anything on mine. It straightened itself out almost immediately and the normal lock screen came up.
I noticed this glitch today, but like the others said it doesn't really matter much since it corrects itself right away.
I wouldn't call it a "glitch", more like an annoyance, that happens to the Nexus 7(2012) as well. The bootanimation/logo is supposed to be portrait, but as the tablet start up it tries to move to landscape mode, but since it's a portrait image it moves that way, making it look like something's wrong but it's not. You can change the lockscreen to not rotate and stay in portrait or don't hold it landscape while it boots up, in that way you won't see it again.
Edit: Also happens to the brightness level, it's just the tablet starting up.
