[Tips]Amazon app store free app of the day greatest hits - Sony Xperia S, Acro S, Ion

Amazon is giving away alot of apps including Angry Birds (Ad-Free), Swiftkey and springkle. So go ahead http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nav_sap...WWVM|B005J0VPNC&rh=i:mobile-apps,n:2350149011

Yeah, well you have to have the amazon app installed to use the apps, which I think is ridiculous.

They do, but usually weeks behind Market updates due to the process Amazon uses to validate the files.
And even when they do update (ex. Angry Birds) sometimes it won't show as an available update. Best bet is to get an app like AppBrain and check for updates through it. Then if it says one of your Amazon apps has an update, you actually have to go search for it in the Amazon store and manually force it to update.
This sometimes still doesn't work. For the latest Angry Birds Seasons update, I had to update to the free version in Market, THEN Amazon told me there was an update for my "paid" ad-free version.
GAY!

01/06 AMZN FreeApp: Splashtop Remote Control

Surprised I haven't seen a thread made about this yet. Free today only. ICS Compatible, works on Galaxy Nexus. Works pretty well too!
GET IT HERE: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004O3YGMC?ie=UTF8&ref=mas_faad (Limitations apply based on your country)
Don't know if this goes here but free remote desktop access is pretty awesome. I just installed it and it runs perfectly on 4g and wifi. Check it out. Don't know how many more hours its free so grab it now

Will there be problems upgrading future versions? I downloaded a few apps when they were free through getjar & now I'm not able to upgrade them through the market.
You can't update them through the market because you didn't get them from the market. I suspect you can update them through get jar. You are able to update apps you get from the amazon market place on the amazon market place.

Yes, you can get the free updates through the Amazon Market. I have gotten 15-20 of the Free App of the Day and several have had updates. Market icon appears in the bar just like google market does.
Good on Amazon for doing this.

+1 you can updates from Amazon App Store. I don't think the Android Market has this version and is exclusive to Amazon for the time being.
Usually Android Market gets the latest updates as devs' updates need to be approved by Amazon so Amazon's App Store usually doesn't get the latest right away. Maybe a couple day afterwards, but this is a good offer.
Got it, used it, works great on the GNex.

Google play UK

Is Google play available in the UK yet? If so, how do I get it? (legit way).
Thanks

Some people have posted they have...Although, I'm in London and haven't yet. I've tried clearing cache and uninstalling updates...
Go on the market and accept the new terms that pop up, then keep opening and closing the market until you get taken to Google Play instead.

I just hope they change the layout for the market like the Apple App store its so much more cleaner and easier to navigate.
I like the whats hot, top 25 sections on the App Store.
I just hope Google changes the layout.

There is no difference, Just says Google Play at the top Instead of Market, who came up with "Google Play" by the way lol, I received the update earlier on my Xperia Play 2.3.4, I'm in Wales, UK, Sim free.
Well mine still says market, could it be because I still have 2 updates available (which I don't plan to do)?

Best app to discover new Android Games??

Hi,
After switching from iPhone 4 to One X i am just missing a companion app to help me discover latest games. In iPhone there is a Toucharcade app which really helps in discovering new games.
I have searched hard on the internet and found Applorer it's quite good but some of the games are missing.
Is there any good app out there?
Its really annoying for me to open App store in ipad than check if that particular games is for android also

Jan - 28 Amazon App Store: free app of the day.

Thought I'd start this thread to let people know what app is free for the day on the amazon app store. If you have it. I'll try and keep this up to date.

I used to check amazon everyday to see what app was free, but most of the time the apps are crap, then the ones i like never get updated like they do in the play store, I just ended up buying all the apps from the play store i had gotten free from amazon

Most of the time, the free apps are crappy. But once in a blue moon, a decent app is free. iMediaShare was free couple days ago, now I can "beam" my media directly to my DLNA enabled Samsung TV without even needing to have AllShare on Touchwiz. I also got Thumb keyboard for free.. I agree, the updates on Appstore are very slow if ever.

Please leave a review for the author. They are just SUPER!
The App was requested of her dad, by 12 year Old Isabelle and Dad Aidan took the ball and ran
The left side of the screen is the integer numbers and the top-right is the numerator digit, and the bottom-right is the denominator digit.
That app is so fast, you can't write down the problem faster than you can get the answer using the App!
Enjoy, and PLEASE don't forget to leave some positive reviews!
Aloha,
Thanks! Really cool.
