Surprised I haven't seen a thread made about this yet. Free today only. ICS Compatible, works on Galaxy Nexus. Works pretty well too!

Will there be problems upgrading future versions? I downloaded a few apps when they were free through getjar & now I'm not able to upgrade them through the market.
You can't update them through the market because you didn't get them from the market. I suspect you can update them through get jar. You are able to update apps you get from the amazon market place on the amazon market place.

Yes, you can get the free updates through the Amazon Market. I have gotten 15-20 of the Free App of the Day and several have had updates. Market icon appears in the bar just like google market does.
Good on Amazon for doing this.

+1 you can updates from Amazon App Store. I don't think the Android Market has this version and is exclusive to Amazon for the time being.
Usually Android Market gets the latest updates as devs' updates need to be approved by Amazon so Amazon's App Store usually doesn't get the latest right away. Maybe a couple day afterwards, but this is a good offer.
Got it, used it, works great on the GNex.

They do, but usually weeks behind Market updates due to the process Amazon uses to validate the files.
And even when they do update (ex. Angry Birds) sometimes it won't show as an available update. Best bet is to get an app like AppBrain and check for updates through it. Then if it says one of your Amazon apps has an update, you actually have to go search for it in the Amazon store and manually force it to update.
This sometimes still doesn't work. For the latest Angry Birds Seasons update, I had to update to the free version in Market, THEN Amazon told me there was an update for my "paid" ad-free version.
GAY!
Is Google play available in the UK yet? If so, how do I get it? (legit way).
Thanks

Some people have posted they have...Although, I'm in London and haven't yet. I've tried clearing cache and uninstalling updates...
Go on the market and accept the new terms that pop up, then keep opening and closing the market until you get taken to Google Play instead.

I just hope they change the layout for the market like the Apple App store its so much more cleaner and easier to navigate.
I like the whats hot, top 25 sections on the App Store.
I just hope Google changes the layout.
Thanks all. Still don't have play yet but thanks

There is no difference, Just says Google Play at the top Instead of Market, who came up with "Google Play" by the way lol, I received the update earlier on my Xperia Play 2.3.4, I'm in Wales, UK, Sim free.
Well mine still says market, could it be because I still have 2 updates available (which I don't plan to do)?

I'm still somewhat new to Android, so please excuse my noob question. I had a Skyrocket for a few weeks and just got my GS3 yesterday.
Are certain apps not yet compatible with our phone? I had ICS on my Skyrocket, but certain apps like Scrabble and Asphalt 6 will not show up in the Play store now.
Thanks for any info.

Yup, it looks like the developer hasn't updated it to be compatible with the S3. (Scrabble). If you look up the apps via play.google.com you can see what devices an application can be installed on. On your phone under the PLay app, it just won't show up.
Thanks for the tip! Here's hoping the app gts updated soon. I love Android, but I never knew of this drawback. I know it will vary by developer, but is it usually a matter of weeks or months before apps become compatible?
just got an n7. like it a lot but one thing is confusing to me... why do some(actually, a lot) of the tablet specific apps in the play store show as not available to install? example... bank of america has a tablet app but i'm forced to install the phone one instead.
am i missing something obvious?

Search these forums for phablet, Google's odd solution to the bigger than a phone but smaller than a tablet interface. In some ways you get the worse of both worlds instead of the best. The search will turn up all sorts of info on the way folks feel about it.

Isn't there a way to trick the market to give us full tablet apps?
Google for a app called lucky patcher. It can patch play store. Never used it myself. So backup your device.

You can just search here at XDA for a useful thread that provides various special versions of the Play Store. You can install one that will force everything to be for a certain dpi value or to ignore dpi or many other options. I have a special version on my Dell Streak that I got from here.

For some reason I could download it on my old nexus 7 but on the new one it says not supported. So did they stop supporting it? I've searched all over Google and all I get is links to the Google store. If anyone has the latest version and could upload it that would be awesome

Hopefully it's just an oversight and they will fix it soon. If not though, it would definitely be nice to have

they were never deleted, but they wouldn't work without the amazon app store installed.
would still be nice to have this app if anyone can pull it off and post it. the phone one works fine, this one just worked a little better.
