I have an xperia ion (lt28at) running ICS 4.04 build number 6.1.C.1.111 and I have a problem. Every time I run walkman or any music app in the background, it just stops. It happens weather or not I have headphones in. I have tried restoring it but that doesn't work either. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem?

Try to free some RAM, restart your phone before listening to music.

I do. That was the first thing that came to mind. Do you think it might be the Walkman app I have.I could try another version. Do you think that'll work?

its jelly bean for older xperia Devices was a bad idea, it has bad ram management , i suggest updating or downgrading (to ics), that should fix your issue, unless you know how to set your OOM to non agressive

you may have alot of apps running in background wich may be killing your RAM and battery, i suggest removing ALL which you do not use, (if system disable or delete)
i usualy sit on 380mb free ram on JB because i removed everything i dont use
I don't know how that didn't come to my mind. Thanks bro. In pretty sure that'll work

It turns out it was just the app. I downloaded another music player and it's working fine. The built in music players (Google Play music app and the Walkman app) didn't work. So I downloaded Rocket Player and it works perfectly.

Not necessarily, have a look at what has been using the battery - only if it appears there then it has been using the battery. Depending on what firmware you are on you can root and then remove the offending a apk (there is a thread here with details of what the different apks do and whether or not they are safe to remove.
Hope this helps.

Or you can get Handcent sms. It has a popup option, where you can answer a text without even leaving your current app. Here's a link:https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.handcent.nextsms&feature=nav_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDMsImNvbS5oYW5kY2VudC5uZXh0c21zIl0.
thank you very much guys for your answers. i tried handcent sms time ago but i like much more the native sms app of my play. so i was searching something different. what can i do with an ics rom? can i open 2 different apps without close one of them?

Hold down the home button. Everything stays running in the background
Sent from my Xperia Play using xda premium
when you quit an app by pressing the home button, android keeps it in memory. when your phone runs our of RAM, it automatically kills off tasks starting with the oldest ones according to your out of memory groupings. If you open two apps after each other they should stay in memory. try using the v6 supercharger script for better multitasking
My xperia play is lagging bad. No backround processes. No widgets.

yes but there are many background processes that will be running. You can use an app called NQ mobile booster on the market which will freeze certain background processes and actually close apps when you exit out of them. This app is one of the few that doesn't actually damage the system by freezing apps

Hi I have note 2 which is fantastic and I am very pleased with it. So far I was getting perfect battery life but lately it doesn't last that long so I installed BBS and this audioOut wakelock is preventing my phone from sleeping. Is there a chance to find which program is keeping this wakelock? I searched the web and there is Nino help. It is almost always on silent and I am not using it to listen to the music. Thanks

I've seen all kinds of "fixes" here - e.g. switch ringtones and reboot, turn off all system sounds, use Task Manager to turn off everything and many more.
Not one has worked for me on any ROM with any kernel, which makes me suspect that it's a rogue app. It never takes me a long time to realise that I cannot be bothered trying to track down the responsible app, so I live with it. YMMV. Viber has been mentioned frequently (never had it myself).
Sounds very similar to the Media drain problem. Similar alleged reasons, similar useless solutions, even poor Viber is also wrongfully scapegoated. What kills me is once the problem start it remains no matter what the heck you do, even if you wipe, root, change roms, format, remove/change sd card, etc... Nothing short of a hammer will solve the ****ing problem.
Download advanced task killer and set it to kill all apps at screen off. Also configure greenify to greenify all apps.
