yes but there are many background processes that will be running. You can use an app called NQ mobile booster on the market which will freeze certain background processes and actually close apps when you exit out of them. This app is one of the few that doesn't actually damage the system by freezing apps

Hello,
I just wanted to know if there was any way to block non-android apps? I know you can do it from settings, then applications, but you can enable installation of apps by just checking that option. Is there any way I can block them? Thanks, and I want to do this because my brother keeps installing useless games and apps again and again.
I don't think you can any other way.. but one thing you can do is install a app that can hide your android market app or any other app you choose so he cant access the market... I can't quite remember the name of it but its a pretty cool app.. you can also hide pics, movies, and other media on your phone.. wish I could help a little more

My Xperia PLAY games launcher doesn't say " more games "
you uninstalled moregames.apk or fun&downloads.apk or whatever it's called.

You can reinstall the applications. Check from a R800i system dump.

I have the same problem, did you find the right app to fix it nabgangsta?
No, lol. We need to find moregames.apk i think?
Sent from my R800i using xda premium
Maybe if we go into system/app/ and delete the xperia play games launcher and then reinstall it from the market?
Sent from my R800i using xda premium
You need to install the fun&downloads apk. Reinstalling the games launcher won't work.

Or you can get Handcent sms. It has a popup option, where you can answer a text without even leaving your current app. Here's a link:https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.handcent.nextsms&feature=nav_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDMsImNvbS5oYW5kY2VudC5uZXh0c21zIl0.
thank you very much guys for your answers. i tried handcent sms time ago but i like much more the native sms app of my play. so i was searching something different. what can i do with an ics rom? can i open 2 different apps without close one of them?

Hold down the home button. Everything stays running in the background
Sent from my Xperia Play using xda premium
when you quit an app by pressing the home button, android keeps it in memory. when your phone runs our of RAM, it automatically kills off tasks starting with the oldest ones according to your out of memory groupings. If you open two apps after each other they should stay in memory. try using the v6 supercharger script for better multitasking

You know I think you could use a app called "Market Unlocker".What it basically does is setting your market to (att,Verizon,etc...) so your market thinls you are on that carrier, and force the market to have the all features that Verizon would have or in your case att,I guess you should give it a shot.Hope I helped )

I have an xperia ion (lt28at) running ICS 4.04 build number 6.1.C.1.111 and I have a problem. Every time I run walkman or any music app in the background, it just stops. It happens weather or not I have headphones in. I have tried restoring it but that doesn't work either. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem?

Try to free some RAM, restart your phone before listening to music.

its jelly bean for older xperia Devices was a bad idea, it has bad ram management , i suggest updating or downgrading (to ics), that should fix your issue, unless you know how to set your OOM to non agressive

It turns out it was just the app. I downloaded another music player and it's working fine. The built in music players (Google Play music app and the Walkman app) didn't work. So I downloaded Rocket Player and it works perfectly.
