i bought Full body protection and i removed it after 2 days, because of
1- bubbles on the screen, camera and back
2- dust between sticker and phone
3- screen color shift (color disorder)
4- the screen will NOT be sharp
5- when you remove it some of the stickers will NOT be removed
6- it stick to your phone very hard, and removing it is very hard (use a heat gun or hair blower)
7- the white plastic stripes on the back will get stuck with glue and it will be really hard to remove
8- it makes your phone feel cheap
9- look how ugly it looks

Looks like a crap install job to me. I use their screen protectors and they're great. You just have to know how to install them.
You should probably let people who know what they're doing install screen protectors for you.
Not to be mean or anything, but you really need to read the goddamn manual about 10 times on how to install this.
Pretty much just looks like you didn't clean your phone at all. Or rather looks like you installed it on a dirty carpet for that matter.
I had no issues what so ever with installing. (no bubbles, no dust or w.e)

Agreed. I use it on all my mobile devices and gadgets and am fully satisfied.
Ideally you're supposed to work in a "clean" environment and make sure before you apply any part on you should be certain that any surface you wipe/touch is lint/debris free. Take your time with it.
But thanks to OP for sharing his experience with the rest of us.
you dont know hot to apply this stuff, thats the point... nor a bad product but a bad applier

It isn't a good installation, I can see hair and dirt behind of the protector in the pictures... You must install it on a room without dust in suspension and clean the phone before of the aplication of the protectors.

I love my xtreme guard. I had no problem installing with no bubbles and no specks. I also have 3 dogs and 2 cats.
a. Definitely a bad installation. I've installed countless of Xtremeguard protectors for F&F and have never had a problem (besides a few bad cuts, which they graciously replaced free of charge). And it's not even that hard. Soapy water, squeeze, let dry, done.
b. Try BSE. Better cut, better quality, more expensive.
Thanks for sharing your experience. Hopefully your next attempt with screen protectors is more successful.
I've got XtremeGuard on both my One and my Lumia 920. Aside from mysterious black specks that I dealt with on the first few days of owning the protectors, they look perfect and I love them.
You seriously have to read their instructions on applying it several times and follow it to the "t". I used a relatively liberal amount of soap and water and I squeegeed all of it out on a flat surface, and that was after a quick wipe on the screen and back.
I've been using their stuff for a little over a year and I've never had an issue with it. It just looks like you didn't take the time to install it properly.

The solution they have dries really quickly, they added some substance it in, so even if the tiniest bit gets in there, you shouldn't worry too much, unless you spill the whole bottle in there lol

Does it go right to the edges of the screen?
I got one ordered this weekend hopefully arriving soon.
How difficult was the application? I'm not too keen on wet application (Zagg, ugh) but is it pretty much drench, lay it on the screen and shift to center ASAP? Past experience with Zaggs, I've usually had to lay it perfectly on the first try since I wouldn't be able to shift it around afterwards.
FYI, "byublue", as mentioned earlier, takes $3 off, which is slightly better than 20%.

I'm assuming all wet applications should be the same, which means that your experience with zagg will be similar with xo.
You wouldn't be able to shift it around after its applied. However, you can peel it upwards, apply some more liquid, then place it back down
Did that with my skinomi, had no problem with it, should work with all wet screen protectors
Got mine today and applied it tonight. It was my first wet application, and it was WAY easier than the (dry-apply) SGP Crystal I had on my Dinc.
It goes very close to the edge of the screen.
No orange peel
No rainbow effect
As I said before... highly recommended

I don't think people realize that, sure even though your device isn't damaged from the liquid solution that may or may have leaked into the phone. BUT it probably set off the water damage sticker inside voiding your warranty.
That's the biggest fear for most people including myself.

NOTE: Before anyone else complains about the length of something they read voluntarily or tells me to "Just use (insert one of a thousand brands I don't have the money spend on to see if it's better than the one I have)", Here's the sum of what I'm saying... My humble and entitled opinion is that XO Skin is by far the best "skin". It certainly is my favorite. Ok, happy reading! :winky face to show I'm not all that upset about anything, just using too many words:
I have revolutionized the way I (and I assume plenty of people to follow if enough people see this) will forever use screen protectors on all of my gadgets. I've done it successfully with my Galaxy Nexus (albeit with the less desired products for what is described here) and it works perfectly. I've never seen this idea talked about, mentioned, or anything else along those lines, so I feel like this deserves a brand new post.
I've been faced with the same dilemmas with screen protectors as many of the rest of you have. Dry installation protectors peel, scratch, get dusty, and so on.. Wet installation protectors have the dreaded orange peel effect, and the seemingly unavoidable "rubbery" texture, which makes gaming near impossible, and even at hotter screen temperatures during prolonged use it makes multigestures fail. So where is the middle ground?
Well, without any further hesitation, I share with you,
THE BEST solution for screen protection:
****This solution does involve the use of a wet install screen protector. If you have any hang ups about using wet installation protectors at all in the first place, if maybe you're unsure about using liquid near you're device, find out more information about them, maybe take it to a Best Buy or your carriers store, the people there have lots of experience putting these on and can help you with understanding if you want to go through with the process or not.
***Please follow all directions and instructions included with your device and any accessories you use. I am not responsible for any damages or otherwise that happen to your device.
I currently have a ZAGG Invisible Shield as the first layer of main protection on my Galaxy Nexus. The installation went beautifully, but the orange peel and rubber effects are forever present. As a solution to this, I simply installed one of Verizon's glare reduction screen protectors over the top, and the orange peel is all but invisible now (finally) and the rubber effect is now outright gone. And the touch screen sensitivity is completely unaffected. I did extensive tests to see if this was at ALL affected, and to my amazement, it was still perfect. Using just the accessories I had laying around that I was unhappy with, I combined them to create a screen protector that now literally has shock protection along with the very best of both worlds from wet and dry installation protectors.
To get an unbelievably smooth solution, I am going to install a mirror finish dry protector, which removes the rubber grip problem, over a wet install XO Skin, which eliminates the orange peel effect the ZAGG still suffers from but still has the rubber grip by itself.
Add that to the XO's full body protection skin for the rest of the GNex, and i may just have found a solution to leaving those bulky cases at home.
This should work with any combination of your favorite screen protectors! Mix and match to find your favorite pair and tell me about it!
(Note: I'm waiting until I get a replacement phone because of unrelated backlight issues before I go forward with the full blown install. I'll post pictures when I get it all done!)
*****UPDATE: the latest stupid thing I did to my Galaxy Nexus was this: I was mindlessly twirling a Bic Lighter attached to a retractable leash (called a lighter leash, it's like that thing for janitors keys, only it's for a lighter. They're quite handy when you're not an idiot)around in bed with my GNex laying right next to me. Before I realized what I was doing, *WHACK*! I smacked my screen so hard with the jagged metal striker wheel the sound scared the crap right out of me. Then I DID realize what I had done and it scared the crap out of me all over again. If I had done what I did without any protection, I absolutely would have busted my screen, or at the very least gouged the living hell out of it. A dry protector alone would have probably left me to the same fate. The ZAGG or XO Skin would have undoubtedly been permanently blemished. A waste of an expensive piece of space rubber. But to my relief, the inexpensive top protector took the force of the hit, and left the underlying ZAGG and phone screen untouched. This along with the rest of the reasons ive listed has made this solution a permanent part of my gadget protecting regimen. (pics to follow if I can find my point-n-shoot.)
Please remember to come back and give me a Thanks if this guide helped you out!

Yes, but I feel much better about replacing the dry ones while the wet one continues to protect the screen. I HAVE at one time or another scratched my screen between installing screens. Now that's gone too!

I had a few dents and scratches on my ZAGG too. Not puppy damage, but a few scars. Putting a dry screen protector over it and doing what I had to do to get rid of the air bubbles inadvertently made the dents and scratches mold to the firm underside of the plastic screen protector. It looks brand spankin new.

To be honest, using any water based protection is somewhat of a hassle if you mess up on something. I prefer the dry solution, you don't have to worry much except for the bubbles or alignment.
Interesting idea, never tried it, but I think twice the screen protector is twice the headeck ,
Myself I have used most brands of screen protectors, after struggling and wrestling with the zagg wet annd the dry zagg that I have used for a few months they are all worthless to me, on my white iPhone 4s the zagg start to turn yellow by the buttons after a few weeks of use, and so on . I now have an unopened Galaxy Note Zagg at my house unopened, which I will probably never used worth $40, I had it with all of them, after all this I have learned that the cheap screen protectors that you get from the cheap chineess cell phone accessories web sites are the best, they feel like glass they cost $2 $3 or less and they do the best in the long run, they are also the easyest to install, that is my opinion.

With Gorilla Glass no need to worry at all
Personally i think those cheap protectors you find on amazon do the job just fine. Its how you take care of it that makes them last.
Thanks!
Man, I thought I finished posting this but I guess not. Must have forgot to hit submit.
Are screen protectors really needed with Gorilla Glass? I've had them on my last four phones and never thought of not having one but my wife just got an Android and her screen glides like silk. Also, I've noticed it seems much clearer.
How do the glass screens on these phones hold up to scratching?
Some have reported issues with scratching. I use one, its cheap protection for your expensive device.
I guess my current thinking is that maybe a few light scratches might be an OK trade off to the Zag adding a little blur to the screen, having the tacky non-smooth feeling when I glide my finger across the screen and harder clean-up.
Actually the Zag gets beaten to hell pretty easy. I have marks on it that I can not remove. One could argue that the Zag took the abuse instead of the screen but my thought is that the Zag is softer then the Gorilla Glass so that is why it marks up easier.
I guess I could keep the Zag and never get a scratch on my actual screen but be staring threw more noticeable scratches on the Zag, or maybe have less noticeable scratches on the harder glass and a more clear experience.
Just can't make up my mind and this is my first experience with Gorilla Glass.
zagg isnt the only screen protector company, there are many types of protectors also, zagg is soft ive had one, ive also had other that are hard and your finger will just slide across it. Sure you will still get scratches on the protector but if its to many get a new protector and slap it on and have a nice clear screen again. A lot easier then replacing the screen imo.

Yep I tried several different brands of both wet and dry and ended up with the steinheil sgp ultra crystal or something like that. Aside from one scratch which I believe would have certainly scratched the phone its good. You cant even tell its there. When I'm done with this phone I plan to sell it and use that money towards my new one. Its easy to sell a phone in excellent condition because it lived in cases and screen protectors.
I have cheap eBay screen protector on my phone. I figure I spent $250 on this device might as well at least have a basic case and screen protector on it.

Or do what I did and buy the phone on release day, never put on a screen cover, and still not have scratches on the screen. Phone goes in pocket, jacket (when it was cold), has been dropped (the rest of the phone has some slight scratches), and travels across the country every week. Screen still holding strong.
Could be lucky, could be gorilla glass. Not sure, don't care. Won't ever use a cover again.

I think I'll stick to not scratching my phone.
I dont know about that... car paints is different from glass. I believe that those rubbing compound are like very fine liquid sandpaper that cut the clear coat of the car and bond it.
OP post some results please.
If you're that confident in this fix, ut a fine scratch in your screen and apply it shown in a video.
I'm sure you will get tons of thanks if this is proven to work!
In a similar vein, toothpaste is meant to work quite well for removing fine scratches (on the basis it's very gently abrasive).
I tried it on a scratched watch face once...
The watch smelt very nice afterwards
(Had precisely zero effect on the scratch though)
Thanks for the tip. Is this really works?

I have a video uploading of me applying this stuff to my screen of my HTC One, I am NOT going to purposely scratch the phone that is just stupid. This is to be used for removing small scuffs and scratches from pocket use ect, not gouges. Any scratch that a camera phone can visibly pick up is going to be way to deep.
One thing you guys fail to understand is that Gorilla Glass is FAR FAR FAR more durable than the clear coat of a car that this stuff was made for. When you make a product that fixes clear-coat it has to be some of the most soft gentle compounds that one can find used so that it does not chew or eat away at a clear coat. That is why it works just fine on glass.

it works great if you do not follow the directions. The directions want you ro rub it in, let it dry then rub it off. However from post and testing done in some of the automotive forums i am on it has been concluded that if you rub it in until there is nothing left to rub in then wipe it off it has better results. its done well on my car that had alot of scratches from previous owner. Best used with small micro fiber wax buffers that you can get 2-3 to a pack from Advance/Auto Zone. Sorry for going off the OP mods.
Seriously....Is this an ad?
P.s
If you scratched your new nexus 5 already you are the people who buy the big ugly otter mofo cases XD

This seems like a terrible solution for one main reason, it will completely ruin the oleophobic coating on the screen. I am a car guy myself and swear by Meguiars for headlight and paint restoration. However, I would NEVER use this stuff on my phone...

Im sure if we coated the screen every day it would, using it once a year once every few months in minor amounts isnt going to do anything. ive use it on alot of my phones over the last 2 years with no issues.

It's not like liquid sand paper. Not even close. It has a resin compound that FILLS IN the scratches. If it were like liquid sand paper, it'd just make more scratches witch you'd then have to buff out.

Way to bump a 2 year old post to post wrong information.
It is like liquid sand paper.
It has a higher abrasive index than some of megs' professional series polishing compounds.
It's an abrasive period. It just so happens to also have fillers in it.

]Will it work for the scratches in the side bezels of my white glossy Nexus 5
These are way better than the plastic crap that is dominant.
I've bought a couple of these. They are $8.95 on Amazon Prime:

I've also had one on my HTC One m8. Works awesome, and the feel... feels like glass.

From the pictures I think that must be Billy Mays hawking the things...
Hahaha! Yeah... They have to pitch these things some how (RIP Billy Mays)
But really, these protectors are the way to go. I will never use a plastic screen protector again.
Naah, I like my wet-applied TPU protectors, they never ever ever get dust stuck between it and the screen.
So I just got one. Hope this fits with otter box

the trick to installing these glass protectors is this:
turn your shower on to its hottest water setting; close the door.
go back in 10 minutes.
install the screen protector in your bathroom, with the door closed.
sounds nutty, but the condensation in the air attaches to any particulate matter in the air, and sticks it to the walls, or the floor;
not your screen :good:

for those in the know however; it is *the* way to do it properly.
that is unless you have access to one of these

That's about 10 times the size of my bathroom (which partially explains why I think it's nutty to be messing with a phone in there).
Then again, I actually did have access to a dust-free clean room about 10 years ago, when I was working for IBM.
Maybe what's needed is a small dust-free chamber to do these things. We could make a fortune selling them.

Do you leave your phone in there while the water is running or do you bring it with you when you walk in?

take it with you;
the plan is to remove materials in the air by adding condensation to weigh them down, not to 'hydrate' your phones screen; it probably wouldn't hurt; but i wouldn't do it as the condensation that accumulates on the screen is going to have to evaporate some time, and i dont want to know what the effects of that are after ive installed the s/p
I work at clean room and I usually install my screen protector under a chemical hood along with some gloves... Perfect install every time

I had to make a conscious decision and remove my screen Protectors. I tried a few and even some privacy screen Protectors. but most if not all of them desensitized the touch screen about 20% percent of the time. Plus, I love the gorgeous screen and vibrant colors hehe.
bought the zagg one from bestbuy, doesn't even come close to fitting the screen. short on one side and at the top and bottom when applied, if not for the box i would swear this was not made for this device!, that is how off the sizing is, application on the other hand was not only easy but bubble and dust free.

Zagg protectors aren't the best. I had one put on at a best buy by an employee a fam member's S3 last year and she had to go through 4 boxes to find one that fit correctly. Lol, $60 of protectors down the drain for Best Buy!
Just got the one from Amazon but can't be used with otter box. Even if I remove the otter box screen protector it is still to thick. It a nice screen protector tho. Fits exactly perfect
