Overall this is a great silicone case. It fits snug on the Nexus. It does add some thickness around the bezel but it isn't a big deal for me. The case does cover the power button and volume rocker but they are still easy to press. It feels comfortable in my hand and the back provides good grip. It does work with the Qi charger I have. The only problem I have with it is that it reeks of charcoal, but that should go away.

Got mine also and it stinks to no end. I don't trust it to really protect my N7 if my 5 year old gets her hands on it. Hopefully Trident comes out with something soon, but for now it will do.
No kidding the thing stinks like a toxic piece of rubber. I washed it and put it in the garage to let it air out for a week.
Just saw that Trident is putting out an Aegis case in late September/early October.thank goodness!
got mine yesterday. it's a good silicone case especially for the price and fits perfectly, but the back is too smooth. that, combined with the extra bulk, got it thrown in a drawer where probably stay for a while.
Just got mine and once the smell of lighter fluid dies down i'll try it on...... So smelly.
I got it too and mine doesnt smell at all and this is a really nice case.

If yours does not have any smell, it means that something went wrong with the others. I have a smelly one, and the smell is so strong that you cannot miss it.
I will try to contact Poetic and ask a replacement.
Mine doesn't have the smell for sure. It doesn't smell like anything. Hope you guys get a replacement because it is a nice case.

I contacted smart shop online via Amazon. I didn't specifically ask for a replacement yet, I just mentioned the smell. This is their response:
"We request you to please set the case outside for 2-5 days and we assure you that smell will vanish off .If still there is smell after 5 days and you are not comfortable using it please drop us an email and we will *send you the replacement unit."
I'm pretty sure this smell isn't going anywhere. Tuesday will be day 5.
I soaked mines in mouth wash and alcohol lol then washed with dish washing liquid lol no more smell.

It's still slightly smelly and should be done by tomorrow. I've been washing it each day then hanging it in the backyard. The seller on Amazon sent me an unprovoked email today stating reports of this cover possibly smelling and to air it out a few days, good advise. Or I can return it for a refund if I felt the need, but I know this is the game we play so i'll just wait another day and it should be fine. Those cases that don't smell have just been made earlier... It will be the same product if returned. I've had this a few times with the multitude of cases I've ordered over the years. Chalk it up to fresh stock if you would...
Soaked mine in baking soda, peroxide, laundry detergent and water for 2 days and the smell was gone. Just a faint smell of my laundry detergent now, which I'm okay with.

I can't stand the feel of these rubber/soft plastic/silicone/tpu type cases so I bought a hard plastic off Ebay for $2.44usd.

I installed mine yesterday as I bought two so I would always have a spare as I sent away for another or walked into a store to get another one... I have used bodygaurdz in the past and this was my first ghost armor.... Not bad, nice squeegee and nice spray bottle with a lot of stuff.... I did mine on while riding as a passanger in a car... So it is what it is.... Also still waiting for the screen to clear up which takes a couple of days, but it is better than it was yesterday. I was going to post pictures, but it says I can't link to outside links because I am a new user... If someone can post them for me send me a pm and I will send you the photobucket links.

I also had bodyguardz on my touch pro. Just ordered the Ghost Armor for my evo as well, I absolutely hated how the edges peeled on it. Although, I think i will end up using a seidio innocase and just use the ghost armor screen protector. I just don't feel like the ghost armor or any skin for that matter will protect the phone from a fall on concrete.
Let me know how the skin ends up working out for you.

They all look like that until the stuff dries out in a couple of days.... Has nothing to do with doing it on a table or not. Read the instructions this is normal and it looks better now then it did in the picture.
I bought the Silicone Case and the Screen Protector at sprint and the phone works fantastic! Don't know why you guys need to cover the whole phone with that thing. I used to have an iPhone 3GS with Zagg Inv Shield and when I took it out to sell it, it was all completely sticky.
Never had an issue with my body gaurdz being sticky when i took them off and the phone looked like new.

I believe he was talking about the outside of the invis shield being sticky because of the case, not the phone.
After doing screen protectors on way too many iPads to want to admit too, the big thing I found is that you need to figure out what kind of protector you are dealing with. The thinner glossy protectors you can normally add water to to make placing them easier because they will breathe. The matte protectors will have an issue because they do not breathe and the water can get trapped.
In regards to the water, you need to be very careful in what you use. I know it sounds weird, but I suggest using bottled water with a drop of Johnson's & Johnson's baby shampoo. The reason for the bottled water is it will not leave any type of hard water residue behind if you don't get it all out.
Mine is looking much better... I can't complain... Nothing on the screen it going to make it look as nice as with out the plastic on it. But for protection I am willing to live with the looks. I can take pictures of it at home if you want and as for the spray I used what came with the kit to spray it down.
*EDIT: Nevermind*

What case mate case would you recommend. Had a look on amazon and found quiet a few to choose from!
Hi,
I got my case-mate tough case the best one in my opinon with two layer protection and really good grip finish.
I have had this case on all my previous phones and what i like the most is the raised edges around the screen in case you drop your phone it won't land on its screen.
a5ian300zx
I was looking at that, what do you think it will be like with the overheating problem with the phone? Will the case make it worse?
I got the safe case as well as the tough case coming in the mail. Has anyone ever used a case-mate safe case? I like tpu cases; they don't collect dust or stick in your pocket. Is the safe case like a typical silicone case or a tpu?

I tried the safe case, it's a moulded rubber case, good fit, not too tight as i found on some cases this means it pings off. it has a smooth finish which isn't tacky, but at a 45 degree angle won't slide off your hand either.
nice product but to me it was a little thin, as i think in a fall it will cushion, but NOT absorb the impact, if your a careful owner it looks the sex, and work well for light falls. If you're like me and in and out of the car all the time and on building sites i recommend the Tough as the size difference is small but will offer a much stronger protection solution.

I bought the Hyperion 3800mah battery for my galaxy nexus a few days ago. I got it last night and popped it in, and immidietly missed the grip that I had with the Diztronic case. Hyperion doesn't make a case for the extended battery, so I decided to modify the one I had. Here some pictures:

First what I did was cut out the of the case, the case it self has an edge on the back, and I used this to guide my scissors. I cut the bottom of the case out a little higher than this seam, since the edge of the case and the battery back don't match up.
After that, I laid some duct tape on the outside part of the case, put case on the phone, and fed the duct tape strips through where I cut. then laid the flap on top of the duct tape. I used some electrical tape to finish off the look so it didn't look too bad. The cut out for the camera is kinda ehh, I just guess and checked until I thought it looked fine.
Maybe this will inspire someone to buy a cheap case and do something similar, instead of dealing with a slippery, fat naked phone. If only it wasn't a phone... lol.
That's one way to make this phone look atrocious.

I am all about saving a buck, but you can't be happy with this.
I picked up a few of the 3800 batteries cheaply and had the same issue. I picked up the Seido Extended Case for $30. Fits even the cheapo extended doors just fine!

Thank god I'm a teen and not a businessman, so I can get away with ghettoness. I would be buying that sedio case right away if I was.
try to use a little border to hide the scratched edge.
For sure, no one will ever try to steal your phone !!!
Doesnt seidio make a case specifically for this battery? I used a seidio surface on my dinc and loved it. I would suggest getting one of those for a cleaner look. Very resourceful mod though.

Nillkin Case
I really like the concept. I especially wanted something like this on the Samsung Galaxy Note, as it was rather big and hard to handle with one hand. Always feeling that you could drop it while trying to stretch your fingers over to reach and loosen your grip on the phone.

Got mine yesterday and I like it. Great case for $6.99 shipped. Looks nice, decent protection, and the kick stand works well. The only thing I don't like is that the back gets even hotter while using for an extended amount of time. Seems like the case covers too much and there's no place for the heat to flow.

Yes, it leaves it open. I've used my ear piece and my usb cable with no problems.
I bought the case for my GS3 and it works very well. Easy on, easy off.
No problems so far with my Xtremeguard screen protector. And dust in the case hasn't been a problem even though I work construction.
I never knew about the "sure grip" feature that the kickstand doubles as! I will be using that for sure.

Came in yesterday. I'm pleasantly surprised with it all around.
Has a nice metallic color to it with a rubbery texture, fits well, nice and slim, though it's like .05 mm too thick to fit in my dock. Doesn't interfere with my Nillkin tempered glass protector.
It had a gnarly smell at first... It's much better now after 24 hours, but if you put your nose right up to it you can still smell it. Should wear off soon

I ended up ordering a pouch instead of a case. In India I could order it online for roughly 5 usd
Its pretty good quality, phone fits well. So now I don't have to worry about scratches in my pocket or in the car cup holder.
It has a flap at the back for pulling out your phone which I thought I would cut off but I actually end up using it sometimes. I've attached a pic with the strap fully pulled out as well.

I noticed when I lived in Germany that my chinese purchases would take well over a month to arrive, compared to 2-3 weeks in other EU countries. Packages would arrive at my door all at once, even though they were sometimes ordered weeks apart. I think what happens is china packets get stuck at German customs for a while. So that might have something to do with the seller's shipping restrictions - avoiding the hassle.
