Hay folks, i want to update to sense 5 but I can't. I have SuperCID (CID=11111111), which I got out of the factory, so I can't receive OTA-updates. Does someone know how to change my CID? Command fastboot oem writecid *CID* doesn't work. Error to many links.
You are SuperCID but still S-ON so you cannot change the CID, BUT you can download the OTA files and flash them manually...
There are plenty of tutorials here on how to do so.
Thanx mate. It works like a charm now

When you relock the boot loader, which you have to do to flash an RUU, you are good to go
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
I was using CM10 for my One X, tried to return to stock, then realised that i had the wrong ruu, therefore i am stuck in fastboot with no rom.
if someone can tell me what ruu i need / other methods of fixing this i would be grateful.
You can use the right ruu, look after your Cid and go for the right one in the specific thread.
You can also unlock your bootloader (nice all in one tool is in the Android development t
Forum) and flash recovery, than the Rom. Don't worry, you cannot brick your phone without s-off. Just read some FAQs and you'll recover your phone

Super, you can flash custom jb sense Roms and update your hboot right away. Go to the automatic jb update thread in development forum and complete all the steps. Or use European wwe ruu

Just need to flash the rom you choose via the newly installed recovery then problem solved!
Hi all! I'm trying to put my Hox back to stock but can't extract the rom.zip
Any help greatly received
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
From where are you trying to extract the rom.zip?? What are you trying to do exactly?
If you want to go back to full stock, you can either restore a nandroid backup or run a RUU for your device...
I'm using the guide on here, it says I need to extract the ROM.zip from the ruu then flash them, relock the boot loader then run the RUU, I'm running cm10.1 at the moment.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
To run a RUU, you need to download the ruu, lock yoir bootloader and the run the ruu with admin privileges... That's it...
Which ruu are you using? What is your version-main??
I'm trying to use ruu 3.14.401.31 cid htc-001

I think you must restore nandroid backup.
Dowload this ruu : http://bugsylawson.com/files/file/1...-r-radio-5120416229-release-302015-signedexe/
Lock your Bootloader : fastboot oem lock
Run the ruu with admin privileges.. You will be full stock once again.!
-Sent from my IceCold One X!
You cannot extract ROM.zip from RUU anymore
HTC encrypt them.
Why do all the guides say to extract the ROM.zip? Sorry people a little confused :-/

What is the problem here?? Just lock your bootloader and run the ruu with admin privileges. It will take you back to full stock. In some ruus you can extract, in some you can't. It's just the way it is!

im trying to explain u that. in my concept i think that a revolutionary phone and a carrier contained phone don't have same features because the revolutionary phone is build for developing purpose and a carrier contained phone is build for normal use.
few weeks ago i bought htc one x from a repairer this phone is stucked on htc logo repairer says he has chaged its power ic and make him alive. im trying to recover this phone by unlocking its bootloader and flash a cwm recovery and try to restore beckup but md5 does'nt match and also try to flash hboot by command line but noting works and i tried to download ASIA TW RUU JB.EXE after 90% firefox/ iexplorer can not be able to download ruu from android ruu.
sorry 4 my poor grammer
---------- Post added at 01:04 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:50 AM ----------
i already flash a custom rom but noting is working same result stucked on htc logo
If I flash a stock RUU from a different carrier will this change my CID? I am on Optus CID
If you are on a stock rom and don't have Super CID it probably wont allow you to flash a different rom. When the rom installs on the phone it will check the CID on your phone.
If it sees there is a different CID than the one in its list it will not install.
Been trying to change Cid for the last couple of hours and still no good won't change and my cid does not appear in my Hex editor its all scrambled so I thought I might be able to force it to change thru RUU installer to another carrier so then I could SuperCid.

No you can't change the cid, need s-off for that and unfortunately that is not available for us.
Hey there
My device is international WWE with HTC__J15 CID and is s-off. I have two questions:
Is there a RUU to return it back to stock?
If I use a RUU, does my S-OFF state return to S-ON?
Thanks

Your s-off state does not change unless you change it. So don't worry.
About an RUU, i only know of a Sprint RUU and a Developer Edition RUU.
But there are TWRP stock backups you can revert to if you like. Check in General Forum

AT&T and T-Mobile US, also. But yes, only US versions have RUU exe's.
Euro zips from RUU posted here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/general/htc-one-m8-european-signed-ruu-0p6bimg-t2911563
S-off required (OP meets that requirement), and run in fastboot RUU mode. This is the closest you will find to an executable RUU for the Euro M8. Otherwise, refer to stock nandroids as mentioned in the previous post.
I guess since I am S-OFF, I can change my CID to SuperCID and run a Developer Edition RUU, correct?
