RUU upgrade - HTC One X

If I flash a stock RUU from a different carrier will this change my CID? I am on Optus CID

If you are on a stock rom and don't have Super CID it probably wont allow you to flash a different rom. When the rom installs on the phone it will check the CID on your phone.
If it sees there is a different CID than the one in its list it will not install.

Been trying to change Cid for the last couple of hours and still no good won't change and my cid does not appear in my Hex editor its all scrambled so I thought I might be able to force it to change thru RUU installer to another carrier so then I could SuperCid.

Are there any new ways to change Cid?

No you can't change the cid, need s-off for that and unfortunately that is not available for us.

Gold card and Orange branded Desire

Hi,
I have an Orange Branded Desire.
I have made a goldcard for it, and then had flash it with latest HTC stock rom with success.
What I would like to know is since my Desire is now flashed with a stock htc rom, will i need my gold card for future flashing and/or rooting???
Yepp you will need it in every flash!
So does it mean my cid has not been changed by the flash of a stock rom?
If yes is there a way to change cid?

Sorry for the stupid question but what Is cid?

Cid is Tom Sawyer brother! (...)
Cid is an identification number that is used to identify your phone (branded or not)

Make sure you don't use a RUU older than what's already on the phone.
Find the latest available for your region and apply that

i have vodafone uk 1.28 ruu....I'm downloading the 1.29.401.7 europe ..... but how do I do? I can not go into the bootloader so I can not even flash the boot.img .... well how do you explain?
help
help me....please...
You don't flash the boot.img with the ruu, you just use the ruu through your pc.
If your Vodafone branded you need the Vodafone ruu, not the unbranded ruu

What's your full version number and what ruu are you trying to install?

Obviously you used the wrong ruu. Your phone won't boot now till you flag the correct one. You need a Vodafone UK ruu

i have vodafone uk ruu 1.28.161.9 an vodafone uk ruu 1.26.161.2....error 155
I forgot sorry my cid is VODAP102 which ruu i have to use?
What version are you on now because you can't downgrade?
Have you tried the 1.28.161.9 ruu?
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
If you ask in this thread they should be able to direct you to the correct ruu, just tell them your cid and some one will be able to help

I now have 1.28.161.9 and i used ruu 1.28.161.9 vodafone uk, vodafone I have tried the 1.26.161.2 and 1.29.401.7 europe, all with error 155
VODAP102 is Voda-Germany.
Not sure about the software version no. that will work for you.
Can you go to fastboot mode and check the version no. ?
Type : fastboot getvar version-main
And I may be wrong:
Error 155 - wrong recovery.img /wrong boot.img
Error 140 - wrong bootloader / bootloader unlocked
Error 131 - wrong RUU
Is your bootloader locked? Because a ruu won't work with an unlocked bootloader
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
yes i have a re-locked bootloader (system-warning) but I can not get in ... I can still flash that I want from your computer because it is still ruu bootloader mode operations and can make them but I can not see him on the phone

[Q] HTC One X Shipped JB Update

Hi guys I have noticed in footballs' thread he recently added the RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_JB_45_S_hTC_Asia_WWE_3.14.707.24_Radio_5.1204.162.29_release_296434_signed.exe, my question is will I have any issues flashing to that ROM from my current which is still stock RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_S_HTC_Europe_2.17.401.2_Radio_2.1204.135.20_release_274900_signed.
And if not how do I flash that rom? I know its from a different CID but its English right...and it should work fine, Im eager to get JB on my device. Goldcards are out of the question (no sd card slot ... ) obviously.
I'd like to keep my device on an original ROM with S-on etc afterwards.
Thanks

You can't. There is no way to change cid unless s-off is achieved.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
You need an s-off one x to do that. But s-offing the one x is not yet possible so your best choice is to find an s-off one x. My hox is s-off, you can have it for a discounted price of 1000 dollars!

[Q] Restore CID with S-ON on Endeavour

Hay folks, i want to update to sense 5 but I can't. I have SuperCID (CID=11111111), which I got out of the factory, so I can't receive OTA-updates. Does someone know how to change my CID? Command fastboot oem writecid *CID* doesn't work. Error to many links.
You are SuperCID but still S-ON so you cannot change the CID, BUT you can download the OTA files and flash them manually...
There are plenty of tutorials here on how to do so.
Thanx mate. It works like a charm now

One M8 RUU?

Hey there
My device is international WWE with HTC__J15 CID and is s-off. I have two questions:
Is there a RUU to return it back to stock?
If I use a RUU, does my S-OFF state return to S-ON?
Thanks

Your s-off state does not change unless you change it. So don't worry.
About an RUU, i only know of a Sprint RUU and a Developer Edition RUU.
But there are TWRP stock backups you can revert to if you like. Check in General Forum

AT&T and T-Mobile US, also. But yes, only US versions have RUU exe's.
Euro zips from RUU posted here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/general/htc-one-m8-european-signed-ruu-0p6bimg-t2911563
S-off required (OP meets that requirement), and run in fastboot RUU mode. This is the closest you will find to an executable RUU for the Euro M8. Otherwise, refer to stock nandroids as mentioned in the previous post.
I guess since I am S-OFF, I can change my CID to SuperCID and run a Developer Edition RUU, correct?
