4.3 ROM Reboot Problem - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

First sorry if I missed the answer for this I did search around. On any 4.3 ROM I've tried I cannot reboot the phone it hangs on the note 2 screen. Any fix for this? Thanks

I use twrp2 and swipe for factory reset then wipe internal SD card. Then I flash rom clear cache and dalvic. Then flash gapps then clear cache and dalvic again. Works all the time for me.

I wipe everything but the external sd. Then format internal SD. Then flash ROM. Clearing dalvik and cache.
Maybe its just the phone

Are u getting stuck first boot or second? If so are u letting phone boot for at least 20 minutes? Sometimes it takes a while.

After I flash the ROM it works great but I cannot reboot or turn off the phone. It hangs on note 2 screen

Yep that's the same exact issue I had. Make sure u are swiping for factory reset. Don't use the advanced option. Then go to format and type yes to format internal SD card. Then flash ROM and clear caches. Then flash gapps and clear caches again. Reboot. After initial bootup reboot and let it sit for 10 to 20 minutes for second boot. If u followed these instructions to a tee u should be fine.

Is this rom compatible?

I found this ROM and it looks nice but it doesn't state wether its for the n7100 or n7105?

If you press the download button it takes you to the download page where they are all listed as N7100

No, formatting system will wipe the rom from the device. Cache and dalvik wipe only the "temporary file" partition.
Do not wipe system unless you are getting ready to flash a new rom. Cache may be wiped at any time and will not delete any of your data.

Do a clean wipe before flashing. ....always be on latest recovery

Whenever you flash a new rom, don't flash any mods directly. Complete the initial setup, wait for 5 minutes for the rom to settle, then reboot. Later you may flash mods

Everything like you wrote, after flashing rom always do first boot. After this works great until i reboot phone.
Also do a tutorial by someone, factory reset-flashing rom, wipe cache and dalvic-flashing gapps for 4.3 and wipe cache/dalvic-reboot and also doesnt work.

Uhm, i'm guessing you tried to flash the new 4.3 Leak ROM
Bet you 10$ you didn't flash the new Bootloader before flashing the MJ5 or MI6 ROM?
You lose , i flash mj5 bootloader first

Good
I don't what else could be the problem. Tried Super Wipe? (Philz recovery ---> Wipe Data/Factory Reset ---> Clean before installing new ROM?)

Formatting sd

I want to format my phone to clean all the crap files iv accumulated. If I format through twrp, will it just reinstall the current rom I'm running? Did this before on my s4, just want to make sure. Thanks guys

Like internal storage you meant? I always do that on top of cache and dalvik wipe to get a full clean install and no trace of previous rom. To be on safe side always have nand backup when doing that.

Yeah like if I go to wipe, then select all except system or that also?

Factory reset, advance wipe, then I wipe cache, dalvik, system, data and internal storage. I have all my back ups in external card including copy of titanium backup for data. Then I flash any custom rom.

Why not, you are on recovery means your recovery is working. You have the rom on your sdcard right? Wipe cache and dekvik cache first then Just flash the rom again.

Cannot complete reboot after flashing Rom

Good day fine community.
My Galaxy S3 i747M(Rogers) stays stuck @ Galaxy S3 screen after flashing this ROM S3Rx 3.0 TouchWiz 4.3 MJB (1-27-14) Full AROMA.
1. First succesfully flashed 4.3 bootloader and MK5 modem from within a 4.1 ROM
2. Then used TRWP, full wipe, formatted internal sd, flashed ROM and loaded well.
3. Then attempted a Nandroid, which for some reason stayed almost an hour in the "backing up system data", so I cancelled it when the "cannot finish" message appeared.
4. Then rebooted, and now stays stuck in Galaxy S3 screen.
I redid 1, 2 and 4, and still stuck, even if I let the phone rest for more than 10 minutes.
For the life of me, it seems to be a bootloader issue, but I am unsure.
Anyone has any idea what I did wrong?
Thank you.
Try wipe of /system and all other wipes that you can apply. These are under the advanced section of your recovery
This will wipe your whole phone. Then try and reboot

Builtnoob, did that. My sd card was fully wiped, as well as cache and dalvik. Thanks for the input.

Shortydogg, once i flashed and was in the launcher, and alk was working fine, I rebooted in to recovery to do nand. Even if the nand was uncuccessfull, i should still be able to boot into the rom, since it was already running. That is my question: how come it stays stuck at boot. Thx for looking into it.

Usually first boot takes a good half hour at times. Give it some time. However this could be due to a faulty flash. Or some corruption of data. Use twrp to mount your internal memory. Then redownload the ROM and reflash .

Did you format the internal SD or did you format the system, data, and cache from recovery?
audit13, I formatted everything but my ext sd card. Tonight I will try again, this time with fresh download and wiping cache and dalvik after flashing, before booting, and will report back. Thanks guys.

An easier fix may be to just flash a pre-rooted 4.3 ROM that is made for the Bell, Telus or Rogers version of your phone. Then, load a custom recovery to flash custom ROMs.

Buildnoob, thanks for the info. I did fresh install and wiped cache and dalvik after flash and now all is well.
Thanks guys for the help.
