[Q] Which ROM to choose for good battery? - HTC One V

So, I'm looking for a ROM that basically gives me better battery life for daily use. I found myONEv and Shpongle which I like, however, I'm not sure which one is better to use? I'd like to have GPS, WiFi, camera and sound working flawlessly (I've heard that Shpongle limits camera to 3MP?), is that possible with both of the ROMs?
Thanks in advance!

Shpongle has 5MP camera if you use thrid-party one. For battery life, it's all on personal opinion, so try them out for yourself and see.

Well, the unmodified stock ROM gives me about a day with battery levels around 8-9 % each evening, can I reasonably expect any of the two ROMs to give me more battery life?

You might expect that from One Power Guard, regardless of rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1947559
Hope it helps :fingers-crossed:

I think I'm going to try that app with the myONEv ROM and the KISS kernel which enables smartassv2, does that make sense?

CM9 or CM7 or anything ??
its relative, depend the device.

CM 7 is the most stable non-sense ROM till now. CM9 has some bugs , if u can survive wth them , you can use it. For sense rom personally i like Wildchild.

CM9 is not ready for regular use.have many bugs,so i recommand you to use CM7 its good stable and speedy, supports app2sd.
just 2 of my favourite roms

no way! cyanogenmods are sense-less, if you want sense interface you must use a sense rom.
can try a non-sense customizable rom with a sense theme, but it's not a good choice imho..
Cryptomilk CM9

This seems pretty nifty, no issues as yet, and looks really good too with lots of control tweaks with the Trebuchet app.

My WildChild WOM wasts a weally wong time.
With moderate to heavy usage (phone, browsing, streaming, Market, etc.) I get a good 24hrs on it. Usually more.
If your main concern is battery life, set your CPU min/max to 600/600Mhz using the Performance governor. Use noop as the scheduler. Your phone will last a long time and still be peppy (but not overclocked).

it depends on the usage, cause if you're connected 100% with mobile data the battery will drain very very fast (caused by hot battery), calls won't drain battery imo...

What ROM for my girlfriend? (stable, reliable, great battery life)

Hello everybody.
I've rooted and modded the Samsung Galaxy W of my girlfriend but now i'm facing a lot of strange battery issues: the battery drains really fast and she hates it.
I've tried CM9 RC6 and SlimBean but the problem is still here. I've got no time to waste on trying 20 ROMs so i'm asking you a suggestion.
She was really excited about the stock ROM. It was fair enough for her, apart from the bloatware that couldn't be uninstalled and some random reboots and freeze.
So, i'm searching for something like that:
Great battery life
Stable and reliable ROM
Possibly CM based or AOSP
In my opinion, a CyanogenMod 7 would be great, but i can't find it for the SGW.
Could you please help me?
Thank you!

from those 3 links i prefer aosp..and without mods..for launcher just use nova/apex..
and for my suggestion try cm9rc7..

My honest advice:
Do not consider anything except Stock ROM with Value Pack or CM9.
Its not that those other coders are not talented. But - it's like with those small, heavily tuned / modified Honda Civics driving around: Their owner / creators and other enthusiasts love them for their custom mods, but you really could/would not give such a car to your girldfirend, mother, or whatever.
sooner or later you run into problems that will never be fixed, nothing for daily usage by a non-IT-person.
With beta 6, i guess you mean RC6?
Battery lasting, the missing fm radio and a sometimes not-100%-stable camera would be the only drawbacks i see for it.
Performance and overall fluidity is at least one class over the stock rom, really remarkable.
Maybe there will be better battery performancee with CM9 in the future, as it is not really clear atm, what causes the impacts.
But i think its unlikely that it will ever reach the Stock ROM under this aspect, as the new features are simply likely to consumer more cpu cycles then before.

CM9 RC6 was actually my first choice, because a friend of mine is using it without any problem. Anyway, i've experienced the huge battery drain even with CM9 RC6.
I can give a try to CM9 RC7 but i'm wondering: wouldn't it be better to choose a ROM with the 2.x kernel?

Yes, i meant RC6, sorry.
Sadly, battery performance is crucial for my girlfriend. Anyway, i just want a "normal" battery drain; what i'm experiencing is a very massive battery drain, totally abnormal.
Would you suggest me a Stock ROM with Value Pack? Maybe it's the better choice...
for me battery drains so fast because of to many apps..just install apps only for daily use..
yeahh i can see some of us back to 2.6..

I think the same but she's just like 20 apps, Pinterest, Instagram, GoogleReader, Dolphin, GMail, and stuff like this.
Regarding your screenshot, 17% left after 10 hours is not so great.
This is her phone now:
Can i install a 2.x kernel on CM9 RC7?
like i told you before..i use my old battery and stock 3.0kernel rc7..my battery usually last no longer than 5-6hrs..
you got 16hrs..that better than mine..
if you want 2.6 kernel i think it is better to install cm9 rc2..

Even if Queen Anne's Revenge is aimed to best battery life and it's made by an italian (as me ). It's interesting...

This question had been asked a lot of times and answered a lot of times too already. Battery life depends on your daily use, we may have the same phone, use the same ROM/ kernel but we use it differently. We can't have have both good battery life and good performance at the same time. So the best and only way is to try it

Then try each one of them using its stock kernel for at least 3 cycles of full battery. I'm using CM11 and battery last for 1.5 days (more or less) on my daily use. Haven't tried Beanstalk and DCM yet, I'm fine with CM11.

Battery consumption

I know better than to ask what is the best rom out there because there really is never a good answer for that.
However does anyone have any input as to what rom is really stable with all normal functions of the phone working ( preferably a build that is considered stable) and has a good battery life? I really like rom's with status bar tweaks ( normally even if its a very customizable rom its all i fool around with)
