I was having this problem for the first day or two. I simply turned off mobile data for awhile and then turned it back on a few hours later and it only pops up now when receiving or sending an MMS (or when I leave the wifi signal, of course). Not sure if that's the fix or just a fluke.

This is across all phones I've used from time to time nothing to be concerned about it'll go away with time with no action on your behalf.

I figured out that its verizon's stupid CallerID app. It needs mobile data on to analyze incoming calls. It's not used, but its on. I disabled callerID and its not there anymore
I also thought it was the CallerID app and disabled it. However the issue re-occurs whenever I open the My Verizon Mobile app to work with my account. I tested it though by streaming some music for a while then checking my phones data usage in settings and it's not actually using mobile data.
My uncle's did the same thing when using Facebook app and then turning on wifi. Haven't had a chance to test his yet, but I'm pretty sure it's the same issue. Still, it's an annoying problem, especially when you get phone calls from the fam wondering why their phone's using 4g when on wifi
When my 4G won't turn off I just restart the phone and it does the trick. Doesn't happen very often for me though.

Me to bro. I seem to get it after rebooting from CWM or maybe but rebooting
You're running Go SMS, you need to Disable other message notification. Go to Settings in Go SMS, Advanced tab, Receive Settings, and uncheck "Disable other message notification"
Drakhar, I haven't disabled that and I no longer get these text messages. I had them when I first got my phone.
Its most likely a problem with your tower. Put a ticket in for them to check it out.

Same thing was happening to me, soon as I disabled that they quit... Had read somewhere else that was what was causing it.
He could at least give it a shot and see if it works for him...
funny, I just saw this thread a little while ago and I just got one of these texts. I dont use Go sms though. I use handcent. the text body starts with //LL:1563: odd. I never had one until today and I've been running handcent for a couple of weeks now
it's visual voicemail & your sms app
i had the same issue, i talked about and found a fix at these two posts:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1299804
and

Thanx! I disabled it and will report back with my results

Hi,
Recently my 3G simply dropped out. I have no idea how it did, however I have not been able to fix it.
After trying to reset the APN settings, change the preferred network type and to reset the radio. No luck.
the H+ / 3G icon just does not appear. Calls and texts still work.
Any other ideas?

try to change to 2G network and see. if "E"-edge appears then problem is with your network. Also just check if you have "Data Enabled" in case you have forgotten to turn it on
I am on the unlimited data plan... always have been, I was also "grandfathered in" to keeping it.
I got the notice (picture below) this morning that "you will no longer be able to use applications such as internet, email, and youtube via mobile networks. continue?"
I was on my motorcycle and just got rid of the notice without really thinking... my s3 has done some weird stuff lately, wondering if I just need to turn something back on on my phone?
Thanks guys.
Heres the link to the pic if it doesnt work.

isn't that what pops up when you disable mobile data yourself phone-side?
Looks to me like you toggled a Mobile Data setting since it's asking for your permission rather than just telling you.
There's a toggle for mobile data in the notification pull-down. Have you checked that?
I guess the first questions is, did data previously work? If so, then I agree with the earlier response, something more than likely has been toggled.
If not, the default APN "pta" is for LTE, if your account hasn't been provisioned for this you will not get data; my son just had a similar problem as he's "testing" a new Android phone, coming from an iPhone and tried just inserting his SIM. After adding another APN, "phone", which is what is used for iPhone the problem was resolved... you may want to try this and see if it works for you. Good luck.
Like others said first, make sure your mobile data toggle is on.
If it is but that's not the problem, I had the same thing. I was on unlimited HSPA+ with my Galaxy S II. When I swapped to the my Galaxy S III, they had to swap me over to the LTE unlimited. Took like 5 minutes and we were done. Just give AT&T a call.

I just got my T-Mobile HTC One M8 and I can't seem to get the voice dial gesture to work. When I swipe down it does not start the voice dial app. I can not see any voice dial app in the app drawer or anywhere else. Is anyone else having this issue? I have already done a hard reset and did not install anything prior to posting this.
60 views and no replies. Can anyone confirm if it works for them so I know if I need to take it back to T-Mobile?

Okay after hours of disabling and re-enabling different apps I found the problem. If you have wifi calling enable and set it as preferred over the cellular network the voice dialing app will not work but if you set cellular as the preferred network and it is connected it works fine. So if you have no network and wifi calling is active your voice dial will not work I hope this helps anyone else who may have this issue.
Thanks for pointing that out I was having the same issue. It would work in my car but not in the house. I wonder if WiFi calling also affects the right swipe motions...it's suppose to unlock the phone to the app drawer but it's not doing that for me

Voice dial does work I haven't used it but I have swiped down and it popped up asking me to say who I wanted to call. But that being said I have also noticed that the gestures don't always work. Tapping on my screen works half the time and my swipes work but it's almost as if I have to press down really hard on the screen to activate it.

I am running 5.1 rooted on an H810 if that makes any difference.
About a week or two ago my VPN stopped working and now no VPN works at all. I have been using Private Internet Access successfully for almost a year and other VPNs have worked as well.
I get no error message from the PIA app, it just doesn't connect. I downloaded CloudVPN and it just pops up with "VPN Permission: Cloud VPN needs your permission to continue. Your privacy is important to us and we do NOT monitor or track any of your data.", and gives me three buttons, No Thanks (goes back), Help, and Try Again (pops up the message again).
I'm kind of at a loss. I've dealt with tech support from PIA and have not gotten anywhere.
Could my issue be due to credentials? I cannot clear them, as the option is greyed out.
Sorry if I'm confounding the issue. I'm getting pretty frustrated and my Google-fu is obviously not as good as I had thought it was.
have you checked the adb logs for any errors?
I've never done that before. I just downloaded the catlog app and got a log. What exactly am I looking for?

Factory reset fixed it. Now I get to spend the next few days finding all the little settings I need to change back.
