I am on the unlimited data plan... always have been, I was also "grandfathered in" to keeping it.
I got the notice (picture below) this morning that "you will no longer be able to use applications such as internet, email, and youtube via mobile networks. continue?"
I was on my motorcycle and just got rid of the notice without really thinking... my s3 has done some weird stuff lately, wondering if I just need to turn something back on on my phone?
Thanks guys.
Heres the link to the pic if it doesnt work.

isn't that what pops up when you disable mobile data yourself phone-side?
Looks to me like you toggled a Mobile Data setting since it's asking for your permission rather than just telling you.
There's a toggle for mobile data in the notification pull-down. Have you checked that?
I guess the first questions is, did data previously work? If so, then I agree with the earlier response, something more than likely has been toggled.
If not, the default APN "pta" is for LTE, if your account hasn't been provisioned for this you will not get data; my son just had a similar problem as he's "testing" a new Android phone, coming from an iPhone and tried just inserting his SIM. After adding another APN, "phone", which is what is used for iPhone the problem was resolved... you may want to try this and see if it works for you. Good luck.
Like others said first, make sure your mobile data toggle is on.
If it is but that's not the problem, I had the same thing. I was on unlimited HSPA+ with my Galaxy S II. When I swapped to the my Galaxy S III, they had to swap me over to the LTE unlimited. Took like 5 minutes and we were done. Just give AT&T a call.

Hi,
Recently my 3G simply dropped out. I have no idea how it did, however I have not been able to fix it.
After trying to reset the APN settings, change the preferred network type and to reset the radio. No luck.
the H+ / 3G icon just does not appear. Calls and texts still work.
Any other ideas?

try to change to 2G network and see. if "E"-edge appears then problem is with your network. Also just check if you have "Data Enabled" in case you have forgotten to turn it on

I was having this problem for the first day or two. I simply turned off mobile data for awhile and then turned it back on a few hours later and it only pops up now when receiving or sending an MMS (or when I leave the wifi signal, of course). Not sure if that's the fix or just a fluke.

This is across all phones I've used from time to time nothing to be concerned about it'll go away with time with no action on your behalf.

I figured out that its verizon's stupid CallerID app. It needs mobile data on to analyze incoming calls. It's not used, but its on. I disabled callerID and its not there anymore
I also thought it was the CallerID app and disabled it. However the issue re-occurs whenever I open the My Verizon Mobile app to work with my account. I tested it though by streaming some music for a while then checking my phones data usage in settings and it's not actually using mobile data.
My uncle's did the same thing when using Facebook app and then turning on wifi. Haven't had a chance to test his yet, but I'm pretty sure it's the same issue. Still, it's an annoying problem, especially when you get phone calls from the fam wondering why their phone's using 4g when on wifi
When my 4G won't turn off I just restart the phone and it does the trick. Doesn't happen very often for me though.

I am new to this, I also first off want to apologize for this probably not being posted in the correct area. Here is my problem. I HAD Sprint. They sucked. Dropped calls, no service, definitely no 4G that they conned me into a contract with. Long story short, after a 4 month battle, they dropped my contract, no ETFs on either line. Bills all paid up, no debt. Now I have 2 Samsung Epic Touch 4g phones that I want to use elsewhere. My issue is that now that I am free and clear of Sprint, they REFUSE to give me an MSL. They have given me a long list of reasons why I cannot have my MSLs. I have rooted my phone, tried the getprop ril.MSL method (without the swype keyboard before someone asks). Nothing, it just skips down to a new command line with no data. logcat doesn't work, get my msl doesn't work. CMDA workshop doesn't work.. I'm at a loss. My wife was able to have her phone flashed to revol, but she can't send/receive picture messages with revol flashed. I am stuck using an old clearance rack galaxy something or other because I'm at a stand still with my phone. Is there a way to completely remove the Sprint software from the phone and install some sort of open source phone software? I'm obviously new to this, my typical work is computers not phones and my last smart phone prior to this was a t-mobile shadow (YEARS ago). Someone please help me figure this out. Once I get some initial help I'm sure I'll get the gist of it and be good to go. I'm just getting absolutely nowhere with anything that I have read in any forum.
I haven't needed it in a long time. But there is an mal fix by tdunham. I am on break right now. So I cannot Google it. But if you Google with the keywords tdunham msl fix you will find it.

So I finally decided to download foxfi again on my note 4 recently. The USB tethering option works great but Im unable to use the wifi option due to the fact that att is disabling the wifi. Ive hit the home key to see if that works but that isnt working. Ive checked to see if the network would come up on my computer but it did not show. Please help me, Im without out internet in my house because we're in the process of moving but I still have work to do!
You should be able to just use the WiFi Hotspot on your phone via setting --> hotspot unless you're still on unlimited data. If you're on unlimited then you have to be rooted if I'm correct.
Hope it helps.
Does anyone know what causes this? Ad detection apps don't work on my phone ("...has stopped working.") and it doesn't pop up from notification bar so I can't long-press to find source. It pops up from the bottom of the screen every time an app from Play Store installs or updates....ugh!!!!

My phone went like this last night, and it hasn't came back on again, my phone was on low battery last night and it went into extreme power saver, I don't no if this is just a coincidence or not but I'm lost here
never seen that before. id turn it off, take the sim card out, clean it, re-insert and see if that does anything. Otherwise call EE and check their isnt an issue with the account?
edit: you havent turned on airplane mode or something have you?
I'd also try to change different APN settings. I'm guessing only mobile data is affected and wifi works fine?
I don't no what has happened but I use that phone code *#*#4636#*#* to change it to 4g, and it reconnected, hopefully it's a one off issue and I'm not being locked out

P6P has its issues with data and reception. Lot's of complaints about low reception / low voice quality with low reception and slow data transfers (wifi isn't unheard of either but less problematic). I think it's been improving with software updates but mine still a complete pile of **** in terms of reception and phone call quality.
Try a hard reboot, if that doesn't work a network reset. On Samsung's it's called SIMtoolkit, clear its data as well; it will rebuild itself.
