Hey all,
I updated my Lenovo ideapad yoga 11 (without making a recovery usb) to windows rt 8.1 preview & as almost everyone is getting the activation issue on tablets, same issue came on mine. so i tried to downgrade from RT 8.1 to RT 8 (which i have already done on one windows surface pro successfully). during the process i accidentally "Repartition the drive". windows was downgrade to RT 8 and running smoothly but half of the drivers were not installed (including Wifi).
In disk management i can see four partitions:
350mb Healthy (Recovery Partition), 200mb Healthy (EFI System Partition), Windows (C: ) 54.06 GB NTFS, 3.52 GB Healthy (Recovery Partition)
Only windows (c: ) partition is accessible and rest of them are inaccessible, hidden & showing only in disk management.
Is there a way to fix this problem. i.e undo repartition the drive or accessing the recovery partition or Lenovo ideapad yoga 11 recovery image
Thanks

The repartition would either cause entire windows RT to die, or downgrade to windows RT 8 from 8.1. It would not downgrade to 8 and break drivers. Partitioning is not the issue. Most likely there was something wrong with your recovery image.
thanks for the reply.
I tried to search for the drivers but unable to find any. are there any available on internet??
or
any Rar, ISO or Recovery image for Lenovo ideapad yoga 11 or Arms windows rt (i have recovery files for surface pro - but not all drivers are available)
Please help me in resolving is issue.
can anyone please share Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 11 recovery files..
anyone...
Thanks

I connected my HTC, choosed active sync and checked if there was any active connection between Linux and the phone to start follow the guide you linked to.
My phone doesnt show up and can't find a answer to why. You might know what the problem could be?

windows mobile won't work with linux (active sync). you need active sync on in windows before you boot android to have a connection with android and the computer (windows or linux). however if you are trying to partition your sdcard, you simply keep the phone in windows mobile, plug it in via usb and select the mass storage option (usb drive). this will show it as a drive in linux and you can use gparted from there.
what are you trying to do?
if you are doing xdandroid build, the latest build does not use more than one partition. if you are using the neopeek build, it has an installer that takes care of everything for you.

I want to permanently remove windows mobile and use android only. I want to do a internal formation to create the fat32 and ext2 partition to put android on so it boots up without giving me an option to use windows mobile or xandroid.

Ah, I read it as formating the phone itself, not the memory card. Thanks for pointing that out. Guess I will leave the studies alone for a while now or else I'll turn into a zombie
yes this is to setup on external (diamond is internal) memory.
currently there is no setting up in nand on our devices. windows mobile is still needed to initalize some hardware. without it android would not run at all at this point.
however there are some roms out there that only boot the minimum needed for winmo and then boots android automatically.

I've been trying to just this but linux won't recognize my phone at all. The problem could be that I'm using VM Virtualbox and using Puppy Linux. I'll have to get my Ubuntu computer up and running.

Hi everyone,
is there any way to extend an existing ext3-partition (512MB, created with ROM Manager) without loosing the data?
I'm using the DJ Droid 1.1-R1 ROM on a Desire and the internal memory was fine (about 90MB free, no matter what i've installed so far). However after installing a few games today it dropped to a mere 20MB. Is it possible, that the ext3 partition is already completely used and the latest apps were just installed to the internal phone memory?
Thanks for any hint and solution
Best wishes,
hunchi

You can expand the ext3 partition on the SD card by using something like gparted (http://gparted.sourceforge.net/livecd.php).
This is probably not your problem though. Although your apps are on the SD card the data is still on the internal memory and this is what is reducing your available memory.
Thanks for the help! Will have a look into gparted once it gets necessary. Indeed, the problem was somewhere else: After I rebooted the free internal memory went back to 85MB. However I have no idea what caused this memory usage and the memory release after the reboot... Anyways, as long as it works, I'm happy
Thx again!
extend partition
The most efficient way to extend partition, you asked, and will not wiping data.
I think, want to finish this work, use Extend Partition Assistant Professional Edition. As I knew, this software has gained the best opinion by the users.
And I have tried several times, certainly flawless.

My experience with Partition assistant is that it will not recognize a SD card, only hard disk.
I also recommend the use of gparted. But before this action you should save all data (very easy with linux, because it does not hide any files). If you do not have any linux, download ubuntu live cd, burn it and start your computer with it:
http://www.ubuntu.com/download/ubuntu/download
When you connect your phone with your computer, linux should recognize two partitions: The FAT32 partition and the ext partition (you can find out which is which by comparing the partition sizes). Copy their content on an external storage (e.g. an usb stick): Create two folders, one for fat32 and one for ext. Copy the content in the corresponding folders. Partition the sd-card again with gparted or your phone's recovery system. Start your computer with ubuntu live, connect phone to computer and copy the content of the fat32 and ext partition back to the sd card.
Hi,
copy your data to you hard drive and then BU all your app + data with nandroid and titanium backup then extend your partition on windows disc manager and restore everything.

This will not working. Windows does not support the creating of ext partition (much less the change of it).
I used the GParted GUI utility in Ubuntu. Worked wonders for me!
used gparted also, done twice and no issue. save your data from sd.
to do this i use vmplayer and let run ubuntu distri

@matdroid
i know about live cd even usb... advantage of vmplayer is that you launch it without any reboot while playing with your current OS. nowodays comp are enough powerfull to supporte both environment. give a try

It's not new to me that computer from today are powerful enough for vms. That's not the point. With live cd's you do not have a running system in background which can disturb. Thats exactly why i use/prefer them. On this way i can concentrate on this one operation very easy. But that's a personal thing.

Hello to everyone,
Problem painful of all phones with the latest generation processors MTK was the system of Android installed on a primary partition very small!
Now I have tried to increase the primary partition !
Now no one can say it is not enough for the primary partition to install applications!
To saturate this partition it takes!
To simplify I pulled my two files ebr1 and ebr2 to go and directly replace the firmware!
These are the links to the various mods of the two files:

(many Thanks to my friend Linuxovios
Following the installation procedure
P.S.
Those who have helped me a lot to reach the goal with their guides and tips!
Many thanks to:
Linuxovios, GORDONFIRE , BIOBIO76 , MARSAPA AND PAULTHL !
Let me know if you still have problems ,
hello
New Primary Partition for New Mtk
Mtk 8392 is already made !
PROCEDURE:
More important first of all is to check the drivers if are installed correctly!
try this last adb android :http://ge.tt/2yL21VT[/SIZE]
1)You can flash or together the original firmware !
copy and replace the original ebr 1 and 2 and flash with flashtool together the firmware and make (firmware upgrade) !
2) After on the firmware that was preinstalled .. ...always using flashtool !
If you flash after the installation of the original firmware ...you can select only the two file ebr 1 and 2 ..and make download....... but you clear your custom on your phone!
The Correct procedure to flash is :
1) turn off the phone
2) remove battery and replace it without turn on the phone!
3) run flashtool with scatter file and the only two flags on the ebr 1 and 2
4) make download to the program flashtool
5) connect the usb cable to the pc
Download the original firmware and copy in this folder (the folder where do you unzip the firmware), the two ebr and try again!
This is the correct procedure...but make attention to not select all the files but only the two ebr!
In some situations that is not a bug...but is that after flash the ebr 1 and 2 the second partition must be formatted from the pc!
1) connect the phone to the pc with usb cable
2) Accept the to run on the usb storage in quick menu
3) In this moment the pc recognize the first partition....but we must enter on file manager or resources of the pc and click on the secondary storage!
4) The pc recognize that this secondary storage or partition is not formatted and says o you want to format this partition?
5) Say yes to the format procedure!
More Attention to the drivers if are correctly installed:
the debuging mode is when the phone is turn on but you must turn off the phone and remove the battery and replace it and DO NOT TURN ON!
If you say the phone is in charge ......this situation arrive after .....
You must connect the cable after you have run the flashtool to download button and in this phase the phone is connecting to the program (flashtool) but if this connection is broken arrive the charge phase!
You do not arrive in this phase....probably you do no have the right drivers installed !
Retry to reinstall the drivers adb android:
http://ge.tt/2yL21VT
try it
bye
And this is all !
bye:good::laugh:

3) In this moment the pc recognize the first partition....but we must enter on file manager or resources of the pc and click on the secondary storage!
4) The pc recognize that this secondary storage or partition is not formatted and says o you want to format this partition?
5) Say yes to the format procedure!
And this is all !
Check and give me an answer!

Ok..before i saw this post i connected my phone to the PC and Immediately the request to format popped up....To be certain ....should i accept that request or should i ignore and go to the drive partitioning area of the PC, look for drive and format it there?
I am asking because i did some looking around and discovered others with the issue...which pointed to the mmc(scatter file) being the issue....offered reworked mmc (with their own ebr 1and 2 in the 2.46GB/25GB which i inserted into the updated firmware) and it worked and i am using it now. It was also stated not to accept this the format request because it would wipe an undesired memory. (It said the RAM, might have been a typo)
I would love to use your partitons so i await your response to the first question for needed clarity ... also my second question is can i use your EBRs with the mmc i obtained?
Forgive me for not just experimenting to discover the answers but at the time of this current post I have had the zp990 for about 14 hours and have flashed it more times than i have made phone calls(or anything else for that matter) and my luck varies ...sometimes it great sometimes it really stinks....and the phone becomes a paper weight before i talk to grandma

Ok I formatted the disk and it is now mounting the drive
Thanks
One question....while in "apps" menu in "settings" No apps show the option of moving them to the phone storage. Is this feature suppose to be missing? I have a freelander i30 on 4.2.1 and the option is available. Is there a way to enable it?
Thanks again
Hi i have a zp990 phone and i whant to increase primary particion from 1.47 to 13 gb, i download the r1 and r2 13gb from this post ,next i dont know how to proced , what are all the steps from 0 , my zp990 is rooted. Thanks
PROCEDURE:
1)You can flash or together the original firmware !
copy and replace the original ebr 1 and 2 and flash with flashtool together the firmware and make (firmware upgrade) !
2) After on the firmware that was preinstalled .. ...always using flashtool !
If you flash after the installation of the original firmware ...you can select only the two file ebr 1 and 2 ..and make download....... but you clear your custom on your phone!

1. Download the firmware of your phone. Get it from the zopo forums.
2. Extract it. You will see the default ebr1 and ebr2 files.
3. Replace the ebr1 and ebr2 files with the one provided here.
4. Open flash tools and select the folder where you extracted the firmware files.
5. Select only the ebr1 and ebr2 files.

I found my old nexus 7 in a cupboard a few weeks ago, the usb charging port wasnt in good shape but i managed to get twrp and DotOS android 9 installed via adb before the port finally stopped working. I dont use any gapps. Luckily i am able to charge the nexus wirelessly.
I don't want to repartition the system partition in case i can't install a new rom etc. Are there other android 9 roms that install on the small system partition size? Or is it possible to repartition and install android 10 roms without a usb cord?

twrp factory reset, put in sd card and flash repartition, after that flash rom zip
and boom you have android 12L, use android 12L gapps, you guessed it also load on sd card and flash after flashing repartition and rom.

oh sorry didnt dig into the google searches much.
as repartition will wipe everything on the device, it will be impossible to transfer the rom to the tablet afterwards and so you can not flash the rom, bricking the device.
so well just forget android 10 and other stuff. it is impossible, treat it as no other roms than android 9 had been developed for the device.
you can install google apps from this
Google Installer (Android)
Install Google apps on Xiaomi devices
