Hi,
I have Samsung galaxy note II (GT-N7100), android version 4.1.2 and ROM SCAMUS Note II V5 DMC1.
Off late i am getting this problem whenever i try to download any app or update any app from google play store....sometimes it is error 491 and sometimes it says insufficient storage space ( though i have 5 GB internal memory available and 29 GB in memory card).
Can anyone help in resolving this issue??
Regards
AS
ok if you have more than 500 mb of free memory in internal storage, so may be you are using lucky patcher, if so open it and go to
menu->troubleshot->clear fixes (something like that) then reboot your phone, it will be ok
I suggest it may be that your /system partition is near full. I think each app you install adds a entry in /system. It only have 1.32gb and it is not part of you 5gb internal space.
Maybe you have too many, I think over 200?

First you need to identify (Manage applications) what is eating up your memory
Can someone please help me? My ion doesn't have enough phone memory to download anymore apps, but the internal storage has a few gigs open. I moved as many apps as I could to the internal storage, but I still can't even download 1 app. Is there any way to have apps automatically download to the internal storage? Thanks.
Once phone's memory is full, internal memory could not be used for installing any more apps no matter how much free space it has.
If i'm not wrong, Xperia ion as around 1.8 GB free for installing apps. and you have moved all apps to internal memory,
How many apps have you installed on your phone ? Are you trying to copy down whole Google play store in your phone ?

I moved all that I could to the internal storage but I still can't download any apps. It's says I've used up around 0.92gigs of the phone memory, all on apps then I have 4 gigs of apps in my internal storage and 4 gigs of free space. Every time I try and download something from the play store it just says insufficient memory.
Btw, how'd you jellybean your ion?

What do you mean you moved everything to internal? Are you using all of your apps? You could try to uninstall some apps and see if downloading new ones work. You can also move applications to SD Card. That will also free up space. I would just uninstall some things I'm not using.
He's able to install JB because he has either the h or i version of the phone, with an unlocked bootloader. Unlocking the bootloader allows for more customization.

Correct me if i am wrong, but with all android phones, the internal storage is partitioned. 2 gigs are used for downloaded apps, another couple of gigs are used for the system and the rest of the remaining storage is used for the downloaded data within the apps.
Also try moving some of your apps to the SD card. It will help free up some storage in that 2gb partition.

Ou might be right for the partitions but ive never had this problem before. I think something messed up perhaps the partitions? I moved all my apps to the sd card the problem is still there. The bigger storage in the phone just iant being utilized or sonething like that.. I was on the embryo rom for good 4 -5 months had ****load of apps and never had an issue.. been running jedi rom for a few weeks and encoutered this problem. It just doesnt make sence.

I had this same issue on jmt v5, I have no idea what caused it or how to fix it I tried everything, it's like the Rom won't store anything anywhere but the system partition, it's very strange, I switched to embryo Rom by Mohan, all the great touchwiz stuff, very fast and stable, only difference is no Wi-Fi calling, but if u can handle that go flash embryo, best touchwiz Rom I've seen to date

[Q] 3GB free internal storage but "only 300 MB" free pop-up when installing apps?
Hello everybody!
My girlfriend has a Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini (I9195), which is currently running the (seemingly) latest stock firmware, Android 4.2.2. I never rooted it or flashed it, otherwise I reckon I wouldn't be having this issue .
So, the problem is this... The internal storage has about 3 GB free (50% of the total 6 GB allocated to internal SD), yet when I try to install an app from the Play Store, once the installation is completed, I get a pop-up saying something like "Only 300 MB free on internal storage" (see attached screenshots).
Is there a portion of the internal storage dedicated specifically for apps, so they don't have access to the entire /storage/0 or something...?!?!
Does anyone know a solution to this? Thanks in advance.
Nobody is having this issue with their Galaxy S4 Mini?
No haven't seen this problem at all! Sorry.

Some apps look for percentage available instead of MB available or some nonsense.
Could also be that it needs to install some secured data, and that's going into a place you don't have enough space.
Also, if you had an app installed on external memory at some point, and you try to reinstall it, you'll get that error. Check your Application Manager for any apps that have the memory card icon on them. Those can cause problems.
Personally, I use Link2SD Plus, which requires an SD card. This allows you to move whole applications to a second partition of the SD card. Works well with the tab 3, and leaves me with lots of free space.
I'm assuming when you say ROM space free, you mean System partition space free? I only have about 9MB free on mine and it causes no problems.
Have had this issue on my phone before because the ROM itself locked the device as read-only, causing any app to give that error, and had to flash it again.
I had a bunch of unknown junk cluttering my user/data partition (they're the same physical area on the device), and had to wipe the "internal storage" and "data" from a custom recovery after backing up my data I cared about.
Hopefully this is informative, and hopefully someone else can be more helpful
Good luck to you

i dont know what it says but i think it means read-only memory, and my tablet has no recovery mode it only shows "downloading mode"
I don't know if this is a permanent solution but I noticed that I had no "OBB" file in "Android " on my "extsdcard". I created said file and moved all files from "OBB", "sdcard0" to new OBB file. I then started a program who's file I moved to new OBB and immediately closed. Then went back to original OBB to delete newly created file (double) for that app. Now all my apps download straight to extsdcard in the new OBB file. I can also move apps to SD card from app manager .
Let me know if it worked for you.
