[Guide][Stock Roms] Return Back To Stock AT&T & International - LG Optimus G Pro

This is a 2 in one Guide!
1.For If you have the International Variant F240S, F240L, E986, E988, E989, ETC to flash back to stock in case of brick of it you just want to be back to the phone was when you first got it
2.And also this Same Guide can be used to Flash the Telcel E980h Firmware on the AT&T E980, The Advantage to do that is its more close to stock than the AT&T firmware, No stupid 4G/4G LTE AT&T Data Icons, They will now be 3G/H/4G/LTE the stock icons!, and Tethering should work perfect with no modding. Seems to run a lot smoother and better than the AT&T Firmware as well!
3. This Guide Can now be used to Flash TOT files as I have now included it
I`m not responsible for any mess ups! Be sure you back up your EFS to just be safe!, If your flashing what is supposed to be on your phone then you should be fine and wont have too.
I AM AWARE about my links, I`m currently working on my server and it will be back shortly... If your looking for the AT&T E980 KitKat TOT here it is:
http://storagecow.eu/index.php?dir=Xda/LG+Optimus+G+Pro/Stock/AT&T/

Normal Flash: Flash ROM without losing any data. Only use this when you need to fix system error. Beware of boot loop when flashing ROM that differ from current ROM on your phone or MOD ROM.
CSE Flash: Choose this option when you need a fresh format. All data will be gone. It's suitable for upgrading or downgrading ROM or simply use this when you need to back to Stock.

Return To Stock KDZ Method:[/U]
RETURN TO STOCK TOT Method! AT&T & Sprint Verzion & The Few International TOTs I have available Also T-Mobile Can be Flashed back this way if you are having issues!
Download
1. Download Both Stock Image File & DLL file - Download
2. LGFlashTools v1.8 - Download
3. Drivers - Download
4.Megalock DLL File: Megalock.dll Download
Credit to @madmack for making most of this Guide for the G Pro Which also works on our G2!
Install:
1. Install the LG drivers downloaded above.
2. Install LGFlashTools v1.8 (but don't run it)
3. Extract the TOT file from the ZIP
When LG Flash Tool is installed, do not launch it.
7) Copy MegaLock.dll to C:\LG\LGFlashTool, This is a hidden folder so enable "hidden folders". Replace the old MegaLock.dll file if you have already installed LG Flash Tool on your computer.
8) When the firmware is downloaded, boot your LG G2 into Download Mode. To do this, press and hold the Volume Up key and then plug the USB cable.
9) Launch LG Flash Tool.
You might see a window with Korean language, just click on OK.
Check the Select Manual Mode on the top.
10) MAKE SURE UNDER, DEVICE MANAGER, YOUR PORT IS SET TO COM 41 FOR YOUR DEVICE.
11) Click the DLL box and choose the dll file from above for you phone model.
12) Click the S/W box and select the firmware file with .tot extension.(the 2.04 gb file from above)
13) Now click the Yellow arrow button on the top left of the main window.
The firmware installation will be triggered.
Ignore if you see any temporary error and just wait patiently till it is finished.
Do not close the Flash Tool window.
14) Press and hold power button until phone turns off, leaving usb cable connected to device AND computer ,immediately hold volume up button until phone boots it into Download Mode.
Your LG G2 will restart showing firmware installation progress in percent (%).
When all is done, reboot your phone and enjoy!

Panama or Claro E980H Currently Is the Best for USA users its more stock international as it has no rom modifications like AT&T does to Tethering and Data Icons at the top!
If you like my Findings and me risking my phone trying these to get you a good rom thats mostly stock compaired to the AT&T rom Fee free to Buy Me a Beer and Or Coffee As I am finally Legally able to buy it in my country As I am 21 Today Aug 31st! haha.

We can also flash international roms like feiyu we just have to flash our baseband right after. I tested feiyu v10 and everything worked. Just their super user app and a couple others didn't translate. Other then that everything works including data. Just make a backup before doing so

Yea I know we can flash international roms, But This is not modified or touched in anyway. This is the EXACT flash you would use to flash the international versions of the phone. These are factory images/Roms. These are not flashed via recovery these are flashed in a way like LGFlashTool. Also If you dont root this you can most likely get OTA updates for it as well! And you don`t have to be rooted or flash recovery for this.
Flashing this is what LG Made.
Also When Flashing the Telcel image you dont need the baseband it works as it.,

Interesting. And data works fine?

Depends on which one you used I`m not sure never tested it on any other than the E980.
The list of what I have is
http://storagecow.eu/index.php?dir=Xda/LG+Optimus+G+Pro/Stock/

hyelton said:
So far this has ONLY been tested on the AT&T LG-E980 but may work on others! Root and CWM is NOT required for this!

Tommrow : Aug 26th I`ll be back home and can test more International roms but so far it seems that the Telcel Stock Rom will be the best one for the people who have the AT&T E980 as it a FULLY English Rom! Telcel is a cell phone carrier in Mexico which carries a LG-E980H which is pretty much the same as our E980!
How To Guide:
How to flash ROM:
1) Download the Rom You Want! (Currently Just the Telcel) (unless someone wants to test another one)
ROM Download is at the Bottom of the Guide
2) Download LG mobile support tool and Install it. (It will open up when its done just CLOSE IT OFF)
http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/client/app/B2CAppSetup.exe
3) Download / Install FlashTool (R&D Test Tool)
http://storagecow.eu/index.php?dir=Xda/LG+Optimus+G+Pro/Programs/
4) Install LG drivers (can skip if you already installed)
http://storagecow.eu/index.php?dir=Xda/LG+Optimus+G+Pro/Programs/
5) Power off your G pro, press Volume Up + Volume Dn keys and then plus-in the usb cable (enter to a download mode)
6) Extract FlashTool and run UpTestEX.exe
7) In R&D Test Tool window,
Select Type = 3GQCT (top left hand side)
PhoneMode = DIAG (top right hand side)
Select kdz file = click to select your LG stock rom *.kdz
Click "Normal web upgrade test" (bottom right hand side)
Then another window "read phone information" pop up, click "Upgrade Start" button
wait a few seconds, another window "Select Country & Language" pop up,
=> Country=Republic of Korea
=> Language=English
you can click ok to proceed
8) All Done and wait for finish!
9) Be Sure that after flashing to perform a reset as for some reason flashing this does not remove what was there before until you reset.
The Downloads should be fast they are hosted on my server!
Rom Downloads
Telcel E980H: http://storagecow.eu/index.php?dir=Xda/LG+Optimus+G+Pro/Stock/Telcel+E980h/
Here is a link to the rest of the Roms, Which I HAVE NO TRIED YET SO BE WARNED! :
http://storagecow.eu/index.php?dir=Xda/LG+Optimus+G+Pro/Stock/
Telcel Rom Currently Is the Best for USA users, It does have Telcel stuff but its more stock international as it has no rom modifications like AT&T does to Tethering and Data Icons at the top and locking settings as Telcel does not!
Just a Note: I do not care for the modifed theme on the launcher but I think it can be fixed by either using a different included them or just load the optimus theme from the AT&T Version or Korean Version and it should look better Its just a personal preference
Also Tethering should work with no issue tethering plan or not on the rom as well!
To Get Data to work you will need to input the APN of your carrier. Also for the AT&T E980 if you want to here is the download link to the baseband which is recomended but not fully required and in which you would need to root and install CWM after flashing this to be able to flash the baseband, Download Link: http://storagecow.eu/index.php?dir=Xda/LG+Optimus+G+Pro/Modems/AT&T+E980+Baseband/

LG OPTIMUS G F180 L/K/S easy change to e975 custom rom

Hi Guys! Just sharing the mod that I learned while doing my best on localizing my phone to e975 from F180 K/L/S
Disclaimer: Follow this at your own risk, I am not responsible if your phone got bricked or what. This is the first time that I will write my own guide for changing the roms,
No need to change FW to e975
No need to update baseband since you will not loose your signal.
Just follow the steps I made.
1. make sure you are already on stock FW F180 K/L/S if not you can download if from:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2320817
2. Format your phone by turning it off first, press and hold volume down then press power button until format option shows up. Then press power button twice to initiate format of your phone.
3. Root your phone using this method (since this one works for me):
http://vulnfactory.org/public/motochopper.zip
3.1 Extract the entire contents of the zip file.
3.2 If you are using Windows, ensure you have installed the latest Samsung USB drivers available for your phone.
3.3 Ensure USB Debugging mode is enabled on your device.
3.4 Connect your device to your PC via USB.
3.5 If you are using Windows, navigate to the extracted directory and execute "run.bat". If you are using Linux or OS X, navigate to the extracted directory in a terminal and execute "./run.sh".
3.6 Approve the ADB connection from your PC on your device
NOTE: your phone will restart and make sure to open the superSU first to update the binary, if update failed,
download framaroot on google and transfer it from pc to your phone via USB.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2130276
4. download FREEGEE on google play, make sure it will be allowed by SuperSU and unlock the device.
choose the CWM touch for the recovery on dropdown menu, wait till it is done.
5. download the latest version here on your pc:
http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=e975 - for custom ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2387878 -GAPPS
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2312735 -Kite kernel
transfer it via USB to your phone.
6.turn off your phone, access the recovery menu by holding down the volume up button then press and hold power button 'till fastboot appears, press volume down button twice and then power button.
7. look for install from sd card, select option 1, look for the (rom name.zip) install it first before the GAPPS and the kernel.
8. If having error while updating (status 7) follow the steps here to resolve:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2302599
9. try to reinstall the modified rom, if success install kernel.zip and GAPPS.zip via recorvery, if not try to repeat step 8 and make sure that as you zip your file it is not inside a folder.
10. reboot your phone! if it takes 10 min while booting on new cyanogen mod, turn off the phone by holding the power button, access recovery again, format the phone, and cache as well.
11. reboot the phone! Enjoy your new E975 device!
CREDITS to all of the author of the threads I used!
Thanks to all of you guys!!!
Just comment and say thanks if it works for you!

Status 6
Thanks for posting this. really helped a lot on rooting this phone. Since i get a lot of different approaches to root and flash roms on this phone, specially with the conversion from f180L to E975.
For those who get a status 6 on flashing. here's what i did to fix the issue. Edit update-script with notepad++ to see the special characters within the script. Here is the rest of the instruction thanks to illtown: "All you need to do is change the Windows newlines with the Unix ones. You can do it easily with Notepad++. So open the script, click the "Show All Characters" icon (you should see the newlines here), then navigate to "Edit-->EOL Conversion-->Convert to UNIX Format" and that's it. Finally, you should end up with single LFs. And don't forget about encoding, should be ANSI."

firstly u need to know what bands your phone supports OK? then u need to know what frequencies your operator broadcasts and using and check if is avaiable in your area
Please read;
The first picture is with official (korean) F180S firmware
shows that my phone ''MANUALLY'' searched all avail. networks in my area and as u can see found (specific) my 3 network broadcast L/W L is lte and W is WCDMA 234 20 is GSM (it is identification for specific my network http://wammu.eu/tools/networks/?country=234)
The second image is official (europe) E975 firmware
shows that phone ''MANUALLY'' searched all avail. networks in my area and as u can see phone didn't find 4G/LTE service only W L is missing .. so by converting korean mobiles with europe software we losing LTE/4G that is why all people facing this problem
I can't to connect to 4G/LTE right now bcos my operator wont't let me yet it is avail for testers and technicians bcos my operator launching 4G/LTE at the end of this month or next month .. they still postponing it ..

Hi Bro,
You can use the latest LG Flashtool 1.8 and the latest .tot file. It works flawlessly.. I'd recommend not to flash this Rom on ur current rom as the base of this rom is E980.
This ROM has also European Languages .Very nice. I removed the modem.img from zip and flashed it on my E986. I did a factory reset in recovery and format system and wipe dalvik cache and than install zip from external SD in CWM 6.0.4.8. The External SD card is working. Fotos and downloads remained on internal storage. Also speakerphone is working in a call. Awesome Finally a fully working LG 4.4 2 KitKat with Dutch language.

Using it for last four days and so far so good, one user complained of battery drain, hoping that it might be a sporadic event as every thing is working like a charm

[Q] F180K modem is not compatible with E975 stock roms?

Hi. I found the MIUI 4.8.1 based on E975 20A Thailand firmware in Android development thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/opt...-miui-v5-4-8-1-based-stock-lg-kitkat-t2839043
here is link.
I have F180K korean model. When I flash this rom, it successfully boot. But it says 'no service' and cannot find carrier.
How can I fix it? Any other roms which are based on E975 stock firmware like ARTMOD 4.1ST etc. is available to flash, but always communication error.

Stock rom use different ril library for different model, If you want to try you can replace /system/lib/libril-qc-qmi-1.so with F180K Kitkat rom. And maybe /system/etc/telephony.xml. I'm not sure it'll work.
But what I did is compare all files from 2 roms and get all different file to make a patch. It works for my patch to change from Thai firmware to German. (I also change kernel but I don't think there are anything relate to mobile signal in it)
Thanx

Please try ARTMOD and edit sqlite table to make sure that it not my rom bugs. If that method is not work on that rom, maybe you miss something importance about F180K and e975 convertion. Maybe other F180 user can give your more info.
And if you can use logcat other member may help you verify what is error. Make sure that you enable use debug on phone.
adb logcat > debug.log
Or use catlog to show log on phone.
As i remember 2 years ago korean users, like me, had problems with the signal on roms different than korean stock.
I dont remember how exactly it was done, but the core action was to change provider checking mode from SIM/RUIM to NV/SIM/RUIM.
Or vice-versa, cause i dont remember that correctly lol.

Hey guys I have flashed a f240k ROM on my f220k and it has worked in the past without any issues but today it left my phone only booting into recovery so I tried to restore a backup and it still boots into recovery so I figured that I should just use my old version of the lg flash tool and flash a KitKat DLL and TOT but in the past when I would try to use the flash tool I would have to change the date of my computer to any date before august 2012 and I would be able to get past the id and password login but now it doesn't work , I know there's a guide to flash to stock using thenlg flash tool 2014 method but I can't find a kdz for my phone on the net and I'm not sure if it would actually fix my phone any ideas or any idea how I could just use the old lg flash tool I prefer this method... Thanks
Never mind I found out that I needed to replace the megalock.DLL and boom it opened the lg flash tool whoop whoop

I have emailed the people who posted this password-locked firmware
asking
Can you provide the password to open the 7z please?
this is the reply
"this firmware has been sold to the phone shop."
From the looks of the very lengthy video, this is the same procedure that is described elsewhere
but the poster wishes to gain in some way by selling the slightly customised firmware.
The stock korean rom can be rooted and runs some xposed modules .. recording and everything works
god, do you really need to password a freaking rom based on STOCK?!!
not looking at this thread again
Can you make post a F240K ROM rooted without the Korean apps removed? I have an F240K in Korea and want to keep the Korean apps, but have root.
Firmware is password locked. There's an easy method to root the original stock ROM

Find the vietnamese rom link from this link here (use flashget)
http://sccn.vn/threads/rom-va-root-5...-f240lsk.8575/
save this recovery and the vietnamese zip lollipop rom to your phone
https://yadi.sk/d/JSASDovUfGu6D
save also this superuser to your phone https://yadi.sk/d/W7G1L0exfGuBn
run the script from the second folder of this zip
https://yadi.sk/d/fESs_CYbfGu4f
hit any key when you see prompt in pc terminal,
allow superuser from the phone,
You will enter recovery eventually,
flash the cantata recovery.zip
flash the loillipop.zip
flash the superuser zip
lokify verification will fail
it's ok.
enter the rom and set it up
then make sure root works
run the alma second folder again.. you should check cantat recovery is flashed again, reboot recovery and see if lokify verification passes
you can use alpha 2 of exposed and i use burnt toast and gravitybox
most of the features on gravitybox work well including pie and status bar, batter bar, etc.
unicon also works
Thread closed. @WINMACK.COM please produce new download links, the given link is not working. Also make sure that it is not password protected or provide the password along with the download links.

[ROOT] Root for Stock ZVG

avicohh said:
Hi evryone.
Recently I came across this guide, and it worked fine for me.
So I wrote a tool that basically does the same thing, just make things easier.
This method should work on any LG G3 official firmware (4.x.x / 5.x.x), and on other models too.
Please leave your feedback if it worked for you, and indicate whether you used the graphical user interface or the old script.
And if it's didn't worked, please attach here the log from the window.
Notes
I saw a lot of questions of G3 users about how to install Twrp after the root, so I will explain briefly:
For now, if you are on stock lollipop you can't just flash Twrp via flashify etc like the old days in KitKat, but you can follow this guide over here.
After the root, if you want for some reason (warranty etc) to unroot the phone, all you need to do is a full unroot from the SuperSU settings.
I don't know if this is enough to get OTA updates back, I'm still waiting for somebody else to answer this question. so please don't ask me about this any more because I really don't know the answer.
Devices confirmed working with this method (If your device isn't listed it's most likely still supported)
LG G3 (all variants)
LG G3 Beat
LG G2
LG G2 Mini
LG G Pro 2
LG G Pad
LG F60
LG L90
LG Tribute
LG Spirit

Hey any chance for a sim unlock tool? Can i use the old one for kk?
Was not able to root using either One Click Root methods. Was able to get root through following the linked guide at the top of the quote.
As for my previous comments in the ZVG OTA update.zip thread, they still stand IN MY CASE. After my last post there I .tot back to ZVE and ADB sideload ZVG. After the fresh install the One Click Root still did not work. Then I restored my apps through LGBackup and was able to get root through the guide.

I replied to your post in the other thread but I will here as well so maybe others see.
When the one click root is looking for the LG serial port you have to put the device in download mode. It will find the G2 and root it. It worked great for me.
Edit: I see in the other thread you replied that even in DL mode it didn't work. Bummer. At least you got it another route.

If you are rooted you should be able to use this method (pulled straight from TWRP website). Using Autorec downgrades your boot loader as well, which is something you may not want at the moment.

Download the latest image file (.img) from the download link above. Place it in the root of your /sdcard folder and rename it to twrp.img. Run the following commands via adb shell or a terminal emulator app:
su
dd if=/sdcard/twrp.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/recovery

EDIT: This method doesn't work. I suspect you would also need a bumped stock kernel, but I didn't want to get into it now.
I did not work that program, but I found another tutorial where if I worked , I have rooted!

Any insight into what this root method is doing? It looks like it is using download mode to push the update su binary, but I'm not 100% certain. Is it modifying anything else?

Dam, ok thanks for the reply. I have to keep a good wifi tether, so was gonna go back to cloudy for that, as his works flawlessly, but I'll have to wait. Thanks again Ascertion. [emoji106] [emoji106]

the radio works ?
So this root method is confirmed to work on stock ZVG firmware? I am just on stock ZVE firmware currently but didn't want to take the plunge into ZVG unless root was available.

Yes, I've tested it already. It will need to be reapplied anytime you update profile because it will revert APNs back to normal.

I am on ZVG and have root now. Only thing that's lacking is TWRP.

Has anyone had success installing TWRP using the method listed in post 11? Running the dd command via adb shell or terminal app? That's what I used on ZVE instead of Autorec which made other changes I didn't want.

I tried it, but it crashed when starting TWRP. It said something about secure boot and then the DemiGod crash handler came up. Fortunately I made a backup of the original recovery partition so I went back to that.
