I have a Poetic case that looks just like that. The cover won't lie flat when you fold it behind the tablet. It is driving me nuts.
I have a Poetic case on order that is like the iPad smart cover. I hope it works better than this one.
Does your case fold back flat against the back?

I have the blurex also and the front cover does fold flat against the back cover. Of course it won't lay flat on the table because of the clasp, which is facing the table in that position, however the front and back covers are flat against each other.
I have the Moko version of this in carbon fiber red and love it. Having a hard time deciding on using this or the Moko Ultra Slim Fit that I also have.

Actually they aren't. I have both cases.
Both are excellent cases IMO.
The MoKo is slightly larger in all dimensions, maybe 10-15mm. The Blurex just feels slimmer and stealthier as a result, however the MoKo has better coverage on the edges with less exposure.
The MoKo is heavier than the Blurex making it feel a little bit sturdier.
The Blurex first tilt position allows the tablet to be more vertical since the slot starts immediately at the end of the handhold. The MoKo first slot starts around 3/4" after the hand hold.
The material in the MoKo is soft-touch and the Blurex is more traditional grained.
Like I said, both are great cases. If I just saw them side-by-side, I would probably choose the MoKo, but after using them a few days, I prefer the lighter thinner Blurex especially when I started using the tilt feature, where the more vertical position resulted in a better angle for where I was using it.

Thanks for the clarification. I had a Blurex for the 2012 N7, and does seem a small bit thinner. Either way, it's nice to have some cheap but good cases to choose from.

i also purchased the blurex and mine looks different. It has the same problem as the Poetic as the front does not fold flat against the back. it also did not come with the strap. I'm sending it back in favor of the moko ultra slim.
This makes me wonder who the true manufacturer of all these cases is.
The Moko does fold flat against the back, fyi.

The hit or miss part is on the tablet/software side, which is causing the issues.
The case works fine, both the MoKo and the Blurex.

Is it because the device is in a deep sleep? I think I have the wifi set to always turn off during sleep and this might be causing the magnet feature to not work.

It is possible, I used to work around it by turning on Bluetooth, but now I just remember the first time in the morning I need to use the power button, then after that it is ok the rest of the day.
I know the issue is in software so it'll probably get fixed one day and if not, I am not going to lose any sleep over it.

I think they are going to extremely close in specs. I imagine both would be made of the same type of material and both close to each other in most regards.
I really think it comes down to preference on the cutouts and warranty policy.

I think the biggest difference is how the magnets are implemented. The Moko has that clasp on the center of the right edge while I believe the Poetic has 3 magnets distributed along that same edge. I've also read that there may be some minor differences in the quality of the material and the fit of the plastic backing.

Yea I liked my old Poetic how well it closed. The downside is that it required a whole strip of plastic down the side. The Moko only has 1 magnet and less plastic I think.

This is for people who have received or ordered both. I know there are a few but I'm guessing not a lot of people have both cases yet since they've just started shipping out. I don't have both. I just read reviews on the forum and ordered the Poetic. Cannot compare.
But poetic offers 3-year warranty. Cannot go wrong.
The poetic warranty is really nice. They've replaced 3 of mine from last year, no questions asked. When the cover got worn, I'd shoot them an email with my amazon confirmation number and another case would arrive in a few days.
I think Moko has a warranty but unsure of the process. Both are cheaply made cases and won't last past a couple months of heavy usage. The "plastic" cover will start to break at the folds.

I just got the Poetic slimline today in the mail. It is an amazing case, and built well. The only downside is I can NOT get the auto wake/sleep from the magnets to work. This is something I have gotten used to with my 1st gen. Nexus 7, and once you have a feature, it's hard to live without it. I'm contacting Poetic for a replacement or return. Such a bummer, because this case is truly awesome.

Cool, will try it when I get home in about an hour. I also ordered this case a few days after I got my Nexus 7 (July 26th), and just got the case today. I forgot I even ordered it, and it's by far the longest period of time I've had to wait for a product from Amazon. If it doesn't work, I'm going to email Poetic. I'll update with pictures.
Here are the better cokparison pictures I just took.
Poetic is first and then Moko. I also put them side by side to show the micro fiber difference. The poetic feels better with that part. Also like some mentioned be sure to be carfule taking it out as it does hold the tablet tightly. However if you take it out from inside first it should be eaiser. I did not have any issues also with back seperating.

So i got this case today from amazon. Its very similar to the moko and poetic slimline case. When I got this case it cost $5.99 but it seems the priced raised today by a dollar or so. Overall its a pretty nice case with no complaints so far. Only thing is when I try to bend the case into a stand to watch videos, it does NOT stay it place. Maybe after a while it will but for now its not working so well. I will compare to the Poetic slimline once I get that one in the mail.

I think your right. Looking at my case and looking at the moko case pictures on amazon and others have posted, it looks EXACTLY IDENTICAL to my case. Only difference is the MOKO logo on the silver metal, since mines is clear.
None of this is surprising.
Most just order in quantity from China and get them imprinted or branded with their own.
I received the case yesterday as well and have the same issue getting it to stand with the cover folded back. I removed the metal clasp on the front just to be safe from possible scratching. The auto wake feature still seems to work even without the metal claps I noticed. Overall quality feels ok for what I paid. Will be ok for a temp case until something better comes
These cases are cool but I've had problems with them cracking and breaking apart in the past. As an aside, that's a really funky old CRT TV man. Reminds me of college 12 years ago

I just received the same case. Had the same issue. To make it stand properly, the magnet needs to connect with the other magnet. It will make a triangle. At first I was just rolling it back, but that wouldn't work. Roll it till you feel the magnets connect, and it will stand.

I preordered this back in August and finally got it from the mail this week, the build quality of the case is OK, except there's a problem with its magnets. At certain standing positions, the magnets would interfere with the smart cover receptor and shut off the screen when I don't want it to do so. I contacted the seller and got a replacement today, which does the same thing as the original product. Well....for $5, can't complain much.
It looks nice and I don't use the stand much and been looking for a soft touch case. Does it ad a lot of bulk like some of the people complain about?

I have both Poetic and this Roocase.
The Roocase's front cover is thinner --> flimsy.
Roocase still has a magnet issue --> turns off tablet when folded back.
I think you should spend a few more $$ for the Poetic.
I have the poetic right now and hate it since it feels so cheap from the fake leather material they used. Really prefer the soft touch. Just ordered it will let you know how I like it lol.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4
I just received mine yesterday. Overall, the case feels extremely nice - especially the softback material. The cover is thin, but that's okay for me since it does not add bulk and it allows the cover to fold in many ways.
I've only noticed the magnets activate standby on the tablet when it is in one certain position (not folded behind). It's not something I am worried about because there's no reason for me to orient the tablet in such way.
It's an extremely thin case that's definitely worth $5 if you do not get one that has the magnet issues.
I have the LTE model.
I spent half an hour with a dremel tool to modify it to permit changing the SIM card without removing the tablet from the RooCase.
I am generally pleased with it, but I think the corner protection is substandard.
The corner protection does not go all the way up to the top of the tablet.
Regards
I figure as long as it sticks out more than the tablet around the edge it's nothing to worry about on a flat surface. And as was said the thin cover wouldn't be a problem since it doesn't add bulk and if your not too rough with it it won't be a problem lol. One question though is the magnet right on the edge of the cover? Amazon pics weren't great

if you have issues with the magnets in the case turning your screen on and off in various positions, you can disable the magnet wake feature using Elemental kernel (assuming your rooted) or you can contact the seller and they will send you a free replacement ( supposedly tested by them to be working properly) I got my replacement a few days ago but I guess I've been to lazy to reflash the kernel and select the magnet wake option to ON and verify

I purchased this case when I had my Nexus 7 on order, It took three weeks to arrive. In the meantime I got the Poetic Slimline also. After receiving the rooCase, I immediately noticed the poor fit and rough edges on the case. I also noticed the same issues with the magnets as some of the other people. Bottom line I would not recommend this case at all as it does not work well and is of poor quality.
Try ands see if you can't get a replacement mine was fantastic and fits better than the poetic case.

Dang, that's really an extreme solution. People shouldn't have to mod their kernels just to adapt to a poorly designed accessory.
Its not really an issue since it doesn't stand like the regulate cases since its the oragami and works just fine like that.

Actually all those complaints are directed towards the Ultra Hybrid model not this Slim Armor model. That one has a clear back and slightly heavier then this slim armor.
There's also the Ultra Fit and Neo Hybrid which I'd love to see in action as well.

Yeah, I have the black Slim Armor. It's awesome. I did too have the problem initially with the power button being stuck, but I took the case off a few times and put it back on. Now it's perfect. To be fair, tho, only a slight tap is necessary to hit any of the buttons...they really are that easy to push and activate.

Thanks for the suggestions. Tough call between the Moko and Poetic. I ordered the Poetic. I figure that when it gets a bit ratty I'll get the Moko.
I really like the Moko so far.

I bought the Nillkin V Series because it was the sleekest case I could find. It fulfills the two conditions in the thread title, but the stand function seems a bit unstable.
I take that thing everywhere and it's been holding up quite well.
People have been talking about the Mofi case lately, but it's only available in green, orange, brown and teal (which Mofi laughingly calls blue).
The brown version is only available on ebay.
The new cases by Seido are also worth a look -- though if you want one, you might want to wait for a sale.
My roocase slim works great. Origami version I think it's called. 15$

I can't stand the mofi colors I would prob buy the Orange if I had to choose but I have a moko case one of the originals and it's pretty good but the stand kinda sucks on it

MoKo case and I'm very pleased
I got the MoKo when it first came out, shortly after I got the N7. I've been very happy with it, the tablet is held firmly, but can be removed without a lot of force. I have another very similar case that holds the tablet so tight that I'm concerned when I try to remove it (I've decided to use that one for a car mount system I'm building as I know there's no chance it will fall out!) The smart on/off works great and the cover stays closed with magnets also. It took me a little while to get the bend lines to flex properly so that the stand functions worked, but after a few days it has been no problem. It still looks new after 4 months, no frayed edges, it goes with me everywhere, everyday. It's got to be one of the best cases I've ever had (no I don't work for the company, nor do any friends or relatives).

Brown is normally a low-key color, but Mofi outlines it in white, which makes it look garish.
I liked the orange case best myself but wish the surrounding plastic were black.
Still, the few people who own both the MoKo and Mofi cases and post here have claimed the Mofi is noticeably better made.
How are the magnets on your MoKo -- does the cover stay closed if you hold it upside down? Does the stand stay in place? I've read good things about those features.
Google released their official case yesterday on play store.

Just purchased and "put on" the rooCASE Origami Slimshell. It's got a polycarbonate shell back and a light flap (which turns on/off the unit) which can be "folded" to support the unit in landscape or portrait mode. I have a Nexus 7 (2012) I'm about to sell on which I used both the Speck Fitfolio and an Incipio unir. I preferred the Speck because of its clasp, but I understand that the Speck version for the Nexus FHD 2013 doesn't have the magnet for on/off ability.
If you want slim, take a look at the rooCASE. With the case on the unit is still just about a half inch thick.

I have a Roocase Origami.
The magnets on that one are so bad that the screen shuts off when the cover is folded back.
Try it.

Not happening on mine. I think there are two different cases called "Origami." Mine is the SlimShell. I did have issues with the unit turning off from the magnets on the Speck case on my 2012 Nexus.

The magnet is very good but the stand is a bit stiff even after using it for months and months on end so it doesn't always stay in but that's a minor inconvenience, but for the most part it works fine even when the stand comes out it still tends to stay in the same spot so I'm not really disappointed.

What's odd about the Play Store's specs for the black, gray/red, white/red and blue/red Nexus 7 2013 cases is that no mention is made of the kinds of materials used or whether there are magnets. What's odd about the ad copy is that no mention is made of features other than the fit's being exact.
I wouldn't want to spend $50 on a case for a $270 device -- even a white 32GB N7 (2013) -- but I'd be especially reticent not knowing if the interior was real or synthetic leather or the exterior, real fabric -- let alone whether the cover would actually stay closed.

The Google cover has no magnets anywhere. The gray is a denim-like fabric and the other two felt like synthetic leather to me. All the colors smell horrible.
Don't buy the official Google case.
I've owned 2 first Gen N7s and the Moko has been by far my favorite case - has anyone used both on the Gen 2 and can offer any opinions?

MoKo case has been excellent both function AND value
I use MoKo for Nexus 7 (2013), iPad mini, and iPad Air. It has been outstanding for ALL tablets in a variety of environments. It fits snugly, all ports and holes line up nice and square. Wireless charging perfect. The price <$20 incl. shipping.. (The Apple Air case is almost $90, MoKo gets the job done for under $20 shipping incl. I'd buy a MoKo in a heartbeat for my HP TouchPad if I could locate one. I have about half a dozen other cases for different usages, but the MoKo is on %90 of the time. GOOD STUFF!
