Should the home screen and back button light up? Mine never do.

In very low-light they will.

I can't see them at all, I just guess where to press.
Just went on a closet and I can barely see them.

They light up depending on the light in your room. If you're in a pitch black room and they're still not lighting up, something may be wrong with the light sensor in your specific phone.

What color are your whites? Mines is a dull yellow.. is that normal? Maybe defect?

My white is white... If you are suffering from discoloration I would get it replaced. This is not supposed to happen.
Defect. Return in
Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk 2
Well not every phone is gong to be the same exact color...example galaxy nexus. I had same problem but wasnr going to return my phone as everything else was perfect. Before returning it tho try morfics trinity kernel and see what u think. Colors are awesome on that definitely changed my mind from returning this thing. And i know u shouldnt have to flash a kernel to get good colors but hey after all u are on a website that modifys android phones
..
The galaxy s3 white isn't really white, it's more of a pearl white.

Power saving is off & I'm using stock browser.

in the browser click -- menu..brightness and colors and make sure automatic brightness is checked off
Its not the browser its just the screen it's the Same in every app, I may have to get a replacement. I'll wait because Samsung is rushing phones to meet demands & those may be faulty.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk
yeah it seems like phone is faulty.. give it sometime and then get a replacement

When I got my Galaxy S3 I was suprised how much more white whites were on it than my GS2, you should definitely send it back and get it replaced. Whites should be white on this phone.
Go to settings, display, uncheck auto adjust screen tone.. It makes the screen/whites look much brighter..

Dull yellow here as well when facing the phone, true white when I tilt the phone in any direction.

Has anyone noticed that some pebble blue Galaxy S III's capacitive buttons are dim? I was looking at my friends Pebble Blue S3 to get S-Beam to work and I noticed his buttons were very bright and noticeable. I then looked at mine and it was ridiculous how dim mine were compared to his! Has anyone noticed that with theirs?

Mine are dim too. Doesn't really bother me though
I keep them off all the time.

I've decided to do the same. That was one of my only gripes, realized the phone looks so much better now with them off. Cm and TW offer. JellyBean TW has them off at all times unless you use them, but they wont turn on when you touch the screen which is nice but overall off is better.

I've noticed that the blue is slightly dimmer as well.
It's not a big grippe though, like everyone else in this thread, I keep mine off.
It's less-obtrusive at night, and it saves a little battery as well.
I see this whenever I have a dark grey background. Can only see it in a dark room.

Didn't want to start another thread so im adding to this one. Today I just noticed a dead pixel. Just showed up since I placed it in my pocket, took it out 10 min later and there it was. I stuck red pixel on my beautiful screen. (Waves fist in the air) "Nooooooooooooo!" . I did try a few tools that claim to unstuck pixels. Didn't work so I will be returning it in the morning for a replacement.
Anyone else have this issue chime in. I think its just a random issue but if plenty of people have this problem then we probably need to be concerned. Performing a search indicates its a very rare issue though so I doubt there will be many out there that will even find this looking for an answer.
This is obviously a question for users with Titanium Grey version. But I'm just wondering what color is your home button? Mine is more of a dark burgundy color than grey. I didn't notice it when I first got my phone. But now I'm wondering that since I didn't notice it at first, and now I do notice it.. I'm hoping that the color is not slowly fading.

Mine is grey
At first glance, mine is grey. If I inspect it at close range, under a bright light, it has a hint of burgundy! (I've had mine for about a month, and would not have noticed this if it were not for your post.) Time will tell if it changes...
I am fully colorblind and have no idea. Colors are so hard for me to discern I dont even try anymore.

Gray.

Those of you saying Grey, try again, holding your phone about two inches from a bright, non fluorescent bulb. Mine looks very Grey until you inspect closely under bright light.

Under some lighting it does have a burgundy tinge to it
Last time I checked it was (still) grey...
Mine turns white if I stare at the sun prior to looking at it.
Is anyine else seeing that? (Seriously, don't stare at the sun, it can ruin your whole day)

Mine too.
I am very careful with my phone, screen protector, case, never dropped. Pulled it out of my pocket this afternoon and noticed a small pink area just over the button and to the left lower corner of the screen. as the evening progressed the area is now larger, about the size of a quarter over the button and near the corner.
Not sure what the hell is causing this, i'll try and post some pictures.
Attached image,
sorry for crappy resolution, was with an iphone.

The screen is bleeding from the lower mid to left of the screen, i can see the text and images under the colored area fine, To me it looks like the screen has separated. The touch screen is working fine. I have no idea how it happened, I do know that it was never dropped and never came in contact with water.
Has this happened to anyone else?

Has happened to mine as well. I have a pink dot in the middle of the left side of the screen. I read that it is a defect in the screen. It's annoying an want to turn it in on warranty but can't be without my phone for a month.

I'll have to send it out,its now 1/4 the way up the screen. I'll have to use my Iphone for a while till this guy comes back.. From preliminary talks with Bell, they sound like they will push the "You dropped it" card... it will be hard to prove for them cause the lack of any physical damage, but hey, they are douche bags after all.
So this is as of 2 mins ago.
It's crazy, by tomorrow it will be 1/2 the screen!.
Update - The screen is now completely Blue with a dark blue section near the bottom.
This morning image
the more i look at it, the more i think water got inside your phone 0_0
I've never seen water do that to a display.
It wasn't water, It's under warranty so it's being replaced, so i'm happy about that. Showed it to the "support Tech" and the response i got was "Holy Sh*t"
It was a screen defect where the AMOLED display actually separated .
