I have made a pure Android 4.3 build for Xoom Wi-Fi and want to share it to the community. There are still many problems waiting to be fixed as it is in the early development stage. Currently it is only released for testing purpose so don't expect it to be a daily driver. Please backup your whole system before testing! Due to the growing size of the system I only included necessary files in the Google Apps package. All missing Google Apps should be available through the Play Store.

Going to flash now! Great effort!!!
EDIT: Can confirm working

It's all working for me.
Only observations are that it says no service on the lock screen and there are occasional very minor graphical glitches when a menu screen appears.
Otherwise, thanks for all your efforts
From what I can gather, hardware wise everything is working.
I've tested: Camera, WiFi, Bluetooth, HDMI.
Other than some graphical glitches it works great

I have the same experience. Updating a 4.2.2 ROM appears to have no ill effects.
The only thing I would add is TB can't backup - it complains about insufficient free space, although there is plenty.
The main issue is lack of root and the fact that the SuperSU .zip fails to flash on the Xoom.
edit: the solution to SuperSU .zip fail is to replace the "update-binary" and can be found in the SuperSU XDA thread.
I have Root
Using BaNkS Core Gapps I have 47.7MB free System.
I simply flashed ROM,Gapps and amended SuperSU in TWRP and the update goes smoothly.

4.3 issue with TB is well known, you have to change the path of the TB directory to "legacy", I'm guessing yours is on "0").

Currently it is a pure Android build so it contains no other features that aren't available in stock Android system. I will add them back in future builds.
Currently the most noticeable problem is the graphic glitches showing on launching apps, dialogs and menus. I heard from other developers that it is related to the system base we used to create our builds. I will start from another base to see if it fixes the problem. After solving the problem I will start merging changes from my 4.2 builds.

Understand completely. After using for a few hours, this is definitely a step forward from 4.2.x. Noticeable improvements in responsiveness (must be the extra butter) and overall performance. Given that this hardware is 2 and a half years old, it's doing pretty well.

From my personal experience, yes. I've been using the lag fix app over the past month and it has been as noticeable change in performance (not as much as 4.3 itself, but noticeable). The first TRIM lasted about 2 weeks, and when it felt slower I ran it again. Hoping that Google's baked in TRIM will produce similar results on a ongoing basis.

Any chance we can see some unofficial cm10.2 built off of this down the road?
Also, I have the same question as extremetempz. The galaxy players got a huge performance boost when the Deva there bumped the kernel up to Linux 3.0 from 2.6

I HAVE A RELEASE!!!
Special thanks to Gabrial Destruir for the Nooter Project. It is amazing and none of this would be possible without it. My intention with this is not to rival Touchnooter. My intention is simply to make it better.
Without further delay, my mod:
My mod is aimed at providing a smooth NST experience with minimal bloat. It is a customized version of Touchnooter and is installed the same way. I have removed many things from Touchnooter that just seem to cause problems, and I have added things to this that I think would work better on the Nook Touch than things that are in Touchnooter. But, It is just a pre-alpha, as I have lost my NST and am unable to test this out myself, so I don't know what this is going to be like. It will probably be buggy. That's why i need you guys here at the forum to test this out.
PLEASE NOTE: I have lost my nook, so I don't know if it works. My intention is for you guys at the forum to test it out and tell me.
In future releases i will include a changelog. I did not here, as It is the first release and I want to see what you think of it before I make more changes to it.
Download: It's in my Dropbox,
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/xi4j7yvj0m69t9i/HuqcNrdtPK
Changelog
Reserved for changelog.
Tried it on a rooted nst and unrooted ng and booth are hanging on start screen- I need to use touch formatter on both
Neither of those should be used for this. This is for unrooted NST.

You could have then said that in the original post that it was for a regular Nook Simple Touch without the glowlight.
If it is based off TouchNooter, then can you say what you changed and added and took away? I have used TouchNooter and it is running perfectly fine and it doesn't seem to slow down my nook touch at all.
Is it for nook touch 1.1 or 1.2.1 too?
I have no Nook to test this. Thought I might just point that out.
Changes to Touchnooter:
Added Smart Launcher
Removed ADW
Removed the annoying help widget.
Removed Android Market.
Removed YouTube
I added some other stuff but I had to hard reset my laptop the other day, and I lost my changes list. I am looking for them now.

Read the 1st post. It says that I don't test it. My NST has disappeared. This is a work in progress. Believe me, I would love to test this, but again, I have no nook at the moment to test it on, I am going to look into getting a new one just for this, then I will test it.
Edit:
Found Nook, but it's bricked >_< (Not from this, from nook manager) I'll have to take a look at it.
Anyway, does this run well?

[ROM][KK][BETA] ⍟ OptiKat ⍟ \\ Daily Driver \\ Performance Oriented \\ 23.04.2014
Hey guys!
Here back with another ROM. I present to you OptiKat. Should be stable. This ROM is aimed at performance and everyday use. Not much on the feature side but more on the usability and lightness side. Has probably even less files than SlimKat. This is a beta version to spot and fix the bugs. Build 2 will have the actual boosting mechanism inside. This ROM is based on Carbon ROM by coderzs and probably will have the same bugs. Please test and report bugs because I do not own the device nor can I test it. To understand the teams lack of equipment, this ROM was built inside and HTC Desire HD using ES file manager and text editor. At the current stage the team has neither got an everyday computer. We were barely able to borrow one to package the ROM and upload it. Any donations will be appreciated. We plan on purchasing a new PC next week. Until then I give you:

Ouch, this is so embarrassing... I posted on the wrong thread ? silly me.. The ROM that caused phone errors is the xperia-like that you've posted in a separate thread.
This ROM installation was smooth, no errors whatsoever so far. And, as stated in op- it has same graphical problems as in all other kk Roms: gmail shows black content, recenta list is garbled, etc. etc.
Assuming it shares the same problems as coderzs (and all other glacier kk roms, for that matter), then it is something like "90% functional" …for some the glitches are not important, for others not good enough as daily drivers.
I truly hope these things get resolved ?

Shoots video camera like normal, but when one looks captured video not normal. does not say that are full responsible for Internet service.
Runs great using it as my DD... SMOOTH & battery life seems amazing on this. Installed only the apps i use & using solo launcher
Two soft boots, one when first turn on LMT all working as should after boot, second when restored a game thru titanium all working as should after it booted up. Video works for me, 480 and 720 play back as should. Used PA's 0 day mini gapps. All is smooth flowing. Gmail is black. Occasional signal drop as has been happing since ice cream. Could use track pad wake, as the JB switches I have cause it to get stuck at boot animation. Increased DPI density to 200, 182 to small for my old eyes.
When maps is opened it has graphical glitches until screen is rotated around then all is good.

I have compiled AICP 5.0.1 (has mobile service) and BrokenPOP (before mobile service worked) and only BrokenPOP had both front and rear camera working. I am working on a new compile of BrokenPOP now and if camera is still working I will port that over to both CM and AICP.
Well I have had this out on my other forum for a bit now and figured it was time to share here on XDA. This is an unofficial build of AICP so if you have any issues please post here and no where else. If you like what AICP has done then go to their G+ page and thank them because they did all the hard work not me.

This rom has all the normal note 2 lollipop issues
Known Issues:
Screen off reboot -- To prevent this just turn on wifi once and after that you can run wifi off/on and wont have any issue
Keyboard no showing -- Open settings go to languages and input.. current keyboard.. and enable hardware keyboard option
GPS -- The gps sensor does not work.. You can flash the gps fix in the 3rd post to gain gps

Not sure what your issue is. That version has been out for awhile on the other forum and does work. Did you try using the shift kernel?

sweet!! hope you like it. i will start doing nightlies of this and evervolv next year. since lp (lollipop) is new you will find new features on each nightly. the posted build is from the 22nd and new things have already been added such as circle bar and gesture anywhere. it will take some time for these roms to have all the cool features of kk but those features will show up.

Evervolv does not have network traffic. Actually Evervolv has almost no extra options and will not have much added to it. It is designed to be extremely close to stock aosp.
I have tried netflix on every lp rom and it does not work. This is a note 2 issue. Netflix does work on there devices.

Doing an updated build today/tonight so if you have not downloaded/installed you might want to wait a day or two.

AICP 10 / 5.1.1 build?
Is there a stable AICP 10 (lollipop 5.1.1) build for the Galaxy Note 2 SPH-L900? I recently installed the stable version on my daughter's Galaxy S3, and I really like it. I'd like to put the Ice Cold Project on my Note II, but I can't find it anywhere. Any pointers? I'm really not in the mood to deal with all the sudden problems that pop up in nightly builds.

Jlmancuso got banned, so I'm not sure we will ever see more development on the roms he was working on. The note 2 is getting less and less development as it ages, just the natural life cycle of phones.
I see Jlmancuso got banned? He seemed such a great help here! Hopefully someone can shed some light on that one!
But I also just installed the ROM and do like it. But seem to have 1 weird issue in that my camera will not work. At first it only showed the front facing camera, and not the back. And then after trying to switch to video, it also can't find the camera.
I'm going to try and load a the camera.apk from the Alliance Rom (my former rom) if that is possible. But everything else seems to be working good on it.
