Gophone att lets you get LTE data with their unlimited talk/txt/2gbs of data for 60. callingmart gets it down to 52. extra data is 10 bucks for 1gb!(optional if you need it)
Also you can use any att phone(including iphone 5) no jailbreaking or changing apn, everything will work out the gate!!! Go to corporate att store and get your sims for free! also have any issues you can go to the att store for help!
customer service is a million times better, and i got my s3 replaced through att cause it still had a year warranty through att. I bought the phone used of craigslist, and it stop charging after a month!
Also please note you dont get unlimited data with straight talk. while its cheap BUT with them turning off data for no reason, not telling people what the data limit is, horrible cs, As soon as i found out gophone was allowing ANY phone they sell on postpaid on prepaid(including iphone 5) AND allowing LTE data. i switched!!!!

You are correct sir! U only get about 2 gb a month with straight talk before u are throttled, happens to me every time at about my last week of service, and it is very annoying!! I will definitely be checking into this, but on another note, IPhone? Really??? I wouldn't take one if they were giving them away!! Hahaha...

While you are right, I live no where near LTE so it doesn't bother me. And I don't call at&t for customer service anyway. They are useless there too. But gives people options. I'm still going for cheapest.

Yea i have a iphone 4s as a backup phone. As i was using it as a example because with st, you have to jailbreak to have mms, but with gophone everything works out the gate! which is a positive because alot of people may not want to tweak with their phone to get simple things to work. And what sold me was the warranty claim i got and im on prepaid! While i dont call customer service ever, it nice to know and a piece of mind that i HAVE cs when i need it. and with my area having lte it was a no brainer, and the fact that i can blow my data in a day if i wanted to. you pay for what your getting and KNOW what to except. i got throttled on st because one day i use over 100mb and some days later i get throttled to a useless speed that i cant do anything data wise without being around some wifi on my phone. The only thing st has going for it is it price, but for me and after tax with st, im paying 2-4 dollars more a month but im getting so much more in return!

I've had ST for a while now & I like the service. It's $90/mo after taxes for my 2 phones ( mine & my wife's ) since we pay $42.50/mo w/ the autopay discount deal they had @ the time.
No CS? No problem. I've had AT&T since 2000 until I moved to ST last year. AT&T's CS wasn't very good @ all... it took 3 days of the 5th degree & 3 "senior" techs to finally diagnose one of my phones as non-working... @ this was w/ a family plan that ran us $170/mo after taxes.
The other thing was the removal of my grandfathered plan of unlimited data + 1500 texts for $40/mo when I bought my GS3.
So.. $42.50/mo w/ 2 gigs of data ( throttled after ), unlimited talk & unlimited text is just fine for us. The Iowa City, Ia area doesn't have LTE & I can barely get stable 3G out here; so I'm not concerned about the loss of LTE.

I work at Walmart and we stopped carrying the straight talk/net ten carry over package because they don't sell and from what I've been told the only way to buy straight talk att sims was Amazon or eBay since st didn't sell them anymore. So don't expect to walk into wall mart and buy the sim, they don't do that anymore.
Just looked at the straight talk sight and they do have are "compatible" sims so now I can tell people to go buy it online and leave me alone 14.99 for a sim 45$ "unlimited" everything you'll be paying 63.59$ USD your first go round. In new York at least. Home to 8% sales tax
Don't expect 4g or to be able to use a 4g phone easily. From what st customer service told us is on iphones especially most features don't work, for instance MMS only works from one iPhone to another something im sure you could fix in the APN settings

Anyone on straight talk have to change their APN recently? I refilled the other night before my service ended at midnight, and I lost data. Next day, still nothing! Had to call customer service, and after about 30 minutes of garbage she had me switch my APN from wap.tracfone to att.mvno. Data came back?? I've uses wap.tracfone for a year with no issues!!!

If you don't mind me asking, where do you live? Do you use YouTube? What are your typical speeds? Can you stream with no problems? Stories differ so much from person to person, I just want to make sure all questions are answered if I use this. I have the option of doing the family mobile deal with Walmart and getting an employee discount, which brings the monthly down to like $25, but as its T-Mobile I'll have to do one of the mods to be able to use it. I'm not ever in an area of LTE so I really don't care about that. I just want to make sure streaming (music, video, YouTube) is allowed with straighttalk. Also, if I take my number with me that I've had for 10 years and then find its not for me, do I lose my number?

Straight talk

Does anyone use the DINK 2 on straight talk and getting 3G
check ebay, you can remote flash your phone
there are listings on ebay where they will flash your phone remotely. You need to have it rooted and a data cable. i saw classified ad saying they did samsung phones for about 25-35 bucks. I texted them and they could do inc2 as well for 35 I even ordered the phone from walmart you need for the esn. I received it and was researching online and really think straight talk's big issue is cutting you off for going overboard on data usage. In some cases people lost their numbers.... I just activated my phone on page plus it $55 and only 2gb of data which could cause me issues. I downloaded a data usage monitor and have been on wifi since the port. I guess I can see how it goes the first 30 days and always try straight talk at a later date. By the way I was on Net10 before i switched to page plus on an att phone and it was awful. Verizon is so much better in my area. so i bought an inc2 on ebay and took the plunge... Hope I helped.
From what I read, this phone does not have the correct frequency to get 3G service on straight talk, so much for being a world phone.

The "world phone" part of the Inc2 was in reference to it working with the Vodafone service. A world phone does not mean that it will work everywhere you go in the world, all carriers operate under different frequencies. If you buy an unlocked GSM phone you have to make sure that it will work with the basebands of your carrier or else you may end up just getting Edge speeds instead of HSDP or HSDPA+.

I had sprint for years and noticed their service was getting worse in DC Metro area, went to Outer Banks, NC and couldnt make a call this past July 4th. I went to the Walmart to buy a temporary phone so i could work a bit while vactioning. The nice woman in Walmart said get the cdma-v Net10 phone (samsung proclaim) it will use verizon towers and that is really the best service around here. So i bought the phone used it a few days and ported my number to them. the one problem was that samsung phone was plastic and the earpiece sort of distorted the caller so I got an old att inspire 4g and bought a sim card ported my number to the sim card device (att) and couldnt believe how awful the service was. WOW, it stunk. I started reading up knowing I wanted Verizon service which in my area is far and away the best so I found Straight Talk and Page Plus could use verizon android phones and get the good service. I chickened out of signing up for Straight Talk only becaus I have heard of all the people getting service turned off so I signed up with Page Plus 55 plan which allows you to use the Verizon phones without flashing a new ESN. It works great but I am using the wifi now becaus the 2 gb limit could be an issue. I am going to give it 30 days to see how the data issue works out and if I am really having to change my habbits will probably try flashing to Straight Talk. So I am interested in seeing how it goes with someone on this forum instead random internet sites.
I have been checking into having it flashed, I think it's the best way to go, I'm going to hold off for a while before I decide to pay and get out of my contract.

I am currently on Pageplus and have the 1200 Talk & Text plan (1200 minutes + 3000 texts + 100mb data).

What do you mean by "flashed out to Verizon $50"?
What plan are you on with Verizon?
DO TELL!
I bought a $15 throw away and the guy from eBay flashed the esn into my incredible leaving Verizon thinking its a Samsung gusto and for that type of phone they have the prepaid $50 unlimited everything plan so if you do it don't be afraid to go balls to the wall. They sell that deal to non 3G phones, right?
Are you getting 3G?
Also you said Samsung Gusto, I see these are expensive at the verizon website, the Gusto 2, but they sell the gusto phones on ebay cheap, 20 bucks, better than 200.
This thread has some valuable info.
The gusto 1 is new for $20 at wal-mart and so is the gusto 2 and both get 3g if they didn't you would get only what the gusto got in data.

So yes I'm getting full 3g speed to use as my data and for my WiFi tether. The incredible2 doesn't act any different when its been flashed I have both mine and my wife's rooted we change custom roms all the time. Just make sure after the gustos esn sticker is placed in you incredible after the flash is done then snap the gusto in half cause if someone else trys to activate the gusto it throws a red flag up let's Verizon know you cloned the gusto to another phone so I break them into a few pieces so they can't ever be used. I hope all I said has and will be helpful to you all.

I was told that if I bought a Simm card from them for $12 I could still use the T-Mobile service? Its $45 a month unlimited. If I pay 200 to term my T-mobile Account, I break even in 5 months??? Vs. the *0 a month I spend now. Is this true?????

I'm gonna guess you meant $80 since that is where the star key is on the keyboard and you are more than likely on a post paid plan. Yes, Straight Talk is just a virtual carrier of T-Mobile/AT&T. It is prepaid and there is limitations. T-Mobile also has prepaid Unlimited for $50 just so you have options here.
But there is a catch to Straight Talk – unlimited is actually limited. If you start using too much data, you WILL be cut off, and will lose your prepaid time, and they will disable your sim card / phone from working on their virtual network. Read fine print to understand the details of unlimited “web browsing” (that is no tethering, no downloading, no youtube). In a nutshell – Straight Talk will cut off heavy data users after about 2-3 GB in one month, and if you are not cut off right away, there is always that chance. If you use mobile web moderately, you are safe.
By contrast – T-Mo gives you 5GB of full speed data (up-to 42Mbps, which is comparable with LTE speeds), and even if you go over 5GB, they will throttle your speed to 2G – not cut you off or charge you extra.
Straighttalk WILL THROTTLE you even if you consume less than 1gb. I was 2 days into my month when my service was throttled. I called and it was fixed. (had consumed less than 200mbs) and then i was throtteled again the next day. They said i was being throttled and my regular speeds were gonna return when my service plan ended (which was like 27 days latee). I told them hell no and that i wanted the service i paided for. They said i had violated some terms for data usage and that i could not use tethering. Since then ive only used my cell to browse my emails and check news and its being throttled once again. Im moving to tmobile once my month is up.
If you use your phone moderately, you should be fine.
Im using a att micro sim.

if your talking about straighttalk. its non refundable.
They recently revamped their throttling...
I used to be able to get a reset when I called in to them.
Last week when I got throttled, I called them and they told me I was in violation of the agreement and it would be reset at the end of the cycle.
Called again and the rep did the reset... The very next day I got throttled again and I can't get anybody to give me a reset. (12 calls).
I am thinking that they give 2 resets per refill card or they are cutting off resets all-together.
Has anybody here got a reset since yesterday?

So I have my Unlocked T999. I was all set to pop a sim for Staright Talk into it to get the $45 unlimited everything Vs. my $80 a month I pay now to TMO. Many people have said I will get throttled if I use a lot of data. I use about 8 gigs a month. Has anyone been throttled, and or not?
Thanks

You don't get throttled on straight talk you get your service shut off. Read their terms of service it says not to exceed 2gb in one month and like 100 mb a day (I think) but 8gb is too much for straight talk. I too was wanting to switch but googled a lot. Type straight talk data cap into Google and read everything

Type straight talk data cap into Google and read everything

I think you need to read Straight Talk's terms of service. Nowhere does it mention "2GB" or "100MB". It doesn't mention any limit at all except no streaming.
People using Straight Talk have determined that it is safe to use 100MBs a day, no more than 2GBs a month. There are exceptions to this rule, some people get away with 3-12GBs.
I would go with AT&T GoPhone. They offer unlimited everything for $50 a month. You can find the $50 refill cards for $47.50 on eBay.
I've been using GoPhone for 14 days now. I used about 350MBs my second day. I didn't get throttled or kicked. With 16 days left, I've used 1.35GBs. Still no throttling.
The catch is that you must use a T-Mobile phone. If you use an AT&T phone, they'll block the data.

WHich plan do you have? mines about 67 a month. I have the value plan 500 mintues, unlimited text, and unlimited data. And being a college student on an extremely tight budget it took a lot to convince me to leave my 100 min, unlimitied text, and 5G of data for 30 bucks a month PREPAID But after upgrading to the current plan, im glad i did. Especially since my phone is the only internet source i have. Doing school reports, online banking, online anything, has gotten much simpler now that im not throttled or concerned about using my data lol.

I have classic 500 minutes 39.95 unlimited data 30, unlimite text 10, and a corporate discount which puts me about 76 a month with the taxes....
St blows. I just switched to tmo from st and I'm soo glad I did. I pay 15 more a month but I have truly unlimited data. On st I was afraid to use data for fear of being throttled or booted. Stay with tmo

They aren't throttling you. Straight Talk has been having network issues in a few areas. Straight Talk doesn't have the ability to throttle even if they wanted to.

hello there. you are correct. no where int he TandS does it say anything about a limit at all.. infact becauase of what people were saying about the limits i called straight talk AND emailed them and both times they told me that there are no limits. but that you CANNOT tether. so i just got new service with them.. if they cut me.. then ill cut them.
hope all goes well though.

Of course it doesnt say a data cap in their TOS if it did they couldnt advertise "unlimited data". Just google it. They block you after so many bytes.
But how did you get that data to work on the ATT go plan? did you buy the go phone then swap SIM cards? I figured if the IMEI didnt match the SIM then they would block it. Mind pming me and explaining? As i dont know if XDA would like if you posted in the general forums. Just being safe. lol

It's 3G/4G. Expect 3MB down, 1MB up. Max I've seen is B down, 2MB up. It's more than fast enough to watch HD YouTube. More reliable than T-Mobile, in my opinion.
I'm loving the coverage. AT&T has way better coverage vs. T-Mobile.

I activated the sim using my One S's IMEI. I purchased a regular orange/white AT&T sim from eBay for $10. AT&T GoPhone will block data if you use an AT&T branded phone, or some international phones. The only phones that have consistently worked for me are rmobule phones. I purchased a T-Mobile S III last week.
Basically, activate your GoPhone sim with your T-Mobile phone IMEI, and use it in a T-Mobile phone.
I've swapped my sim into AT&T phones and then back into my T-Mobile One S, and data still works.

Straighttalk doesnt have network issues because they dont have a network to begin with. They are an att mvno atleast with the att sim. They WILL throttle you if you abuse the per day limit of MBs and tether. I can validate this as ive been warned twice already for going over the limits (which are no where to be found even though they say its in the ToS) and tethering. I am currrently being throttled to 0.15mbps for more than a week. Everytime i call and ***** about being throttled they warn and unthrottle me but start to do it again a few days later. If you dont think im being throttled please explain how my connections download speed is always 0.15mbps and why the customer service rep told me i was being throttled for being in violation with att's terms and conditions?! you can see my previous speeds vary from 2-8mbps and when im throttled it is garbage.

Straight Talk on GALAXY Note II

Just wondering if anyone inside the US is doing a straight talk prepaid plan with a Note II. I really want to know what the best route to do this is. Such as where to get the phone, and how to transfer the number. Thanks in advance people!

Just buy the straight talk SIM, and put it in your note 1 or 2 and your good to go
Obviously you note has to be SIM unlocked

I had a note 1 and a sgs3 that WASNT unlocked and it worked fine with st. I now have the n7100 and it also works fine. Go to www.straighttalk.com and order the AT&T compatible sim. When you get it in go back to the website and activate it and port your number.

No LTE but does support HSPA+. 8Mbps down and 1Mbps up is the fastest I saw in my area. Don't expect unlimited data, 2GB seems to be the consensus on the ATT sim.

And be sure to port your number at the time of activation. I thought it was a two-step process and activated WITHOUT porting and they had to send me a new SIM, as its only good for 1 activation. BUT the good news is, they quickly answered my call & resolved my issue hassle free...i was worried having dealt with Cricket in the past, but this Straight Talk is the real deal, been happy as a clam for 5 mos with them. It was only me on the plan so my savings from AT&T is like $70.00 a mo, but the way i see it, Straight Talk paid for my Galaxy Note II with money leftover ST: $45x24 mos=$1080.00 + $725.00 cost of phone = $1805.00 ATT: $120x24=$2880.00 +$299 Cost of phone = 3099.00 Savings $1294.00
If you can give up LTE (i could) and walk-in service its a no brainer oh yeah - and 15.00 for activation, don't wanna redo all the math but just deduct $15 from total savings : )
Since G-Note II takes micro-sim and had to take a deep breath when i put the SIM in the cutter (purchased from e-bay $5.00) becuase if i had screwed it up i would had to wait for a new SIM but it went off without a hitch. As soon as i keyed in the APN of my Samsung Infuse, i had my lil H+ signal and was good to go....
Also, just a heads up to anyone who thinks 2 GB (approx 100MB a day) is not enough data, for me, i have 3 G watchdog set to disable data at 80% for 100MB a day and it has never come close to the limit... i use my internet on phone to search about 50 to 60 sites a day... One word of caution tho, if you land on a page that "automatically plays a video ad", you need to pause that sucker because that alone with eat up approx 1MB for each second or so it plays. All those ads have a pause button, but you have to hover over the ad to get it to appear.... : )

Honestly they vary between 2MB and 6MB down, i never pay attn to up, but completely consistant connection. In the 5 mos i ve had them, never once have i had data connection drop. Since streaming & downloading videos isn't permitted anyway, just unlimited site surfing, those speeds are more than ample....
Many ppl don't realize if you select an AT&T Sim, Straight Talk will only only use AT&T towers, (At&t allows them to use them for a cost and then Straight Talk re-harvests them out, so to speak....) so if AT&T's coverage is good in ur area and you just need internet for surfing and emails and maybe maintaining your Instagram acct, you're golden : )

Two gigs is more than enough for me. On AT&T gophone, I used 2 gigs in a little over 3 months doing heavy use ( for my use its heavy at least). People don't realize, forums like tapatalk and apps don't use that much data. When u do that you're good to go.

2GB really can be a lot more than MOST ppl need which is why they are doing so well. Cutting a cell phone bill in half as they advertise is worth it to a lot of ppl to reign in their data consumption. I know for me i just wait till i'm on wi-fi to upload or watch my vids and i'm good.
And not having to deal with a cell phone company everrrrrrrr is awesome. I just have S.T. on autopay and 3G Data Watchdog installed set with a DAILY 100MB limit to alert me when i reach 75% (in 5 months i have never reached that limit) and i never think about either one : )

[Q] AT&T switched my data plan right away

After using my Note 2 for about an hour I got a text from AT&T saying they were switching my data plan because a LTE data plan was required. Previously I had an unlimited data plan. Sure enough, I checked my account online and now I have the 3 gb plan with $10 per 1gb over the limit. How can they do this? I don't want this? What are my options? I specifically bought the Note 2 paying full retail because I didn't want AT&T to know I switched phones. This sucks!!
I am pretty sure the recent fcc agreement with related fines for switching customers or forcing customers from their unlimited plans to limited plans was considered illegal. I would be *****ing up a storm and filing a complaint with the FCC, online. Wouldn't hurt to file an online complaint with the attorney general from your state either.
I had unlimited plan (non lte) which was grandfathered. After purchase of Note 2, noticed that I was put on a 3gb plan. I called AT&T and within 24 hours my unlimited plan was restored.
They switched me to the unlimited lte plan when I switched, att customer service was super helpful, almost too helpful. You might call them and see what they say.
Keep us posted.

Just spent an hour on the phone with two dumb twits (in India from their accent) of AT&T's customer service department. They said I had an unlimited non-smartphone plan and that they could not upgrade me to an unlimited LTE plan. I mentioned the FCC ruling ( http://bgr.com/2012/11/07/att-fcc-fine-data-plans/ ) but I don't know if people in India even know what the FCC is. Those people on the phone don't give last names or employee numbers so they feel they are unacountable.
I've been using a smart phone for the past 4 years but apparently I was still on the non-smart phone plan. They said because of that they can not switch me over to the unlimited LTE plan. So, what should I do now? I will not stay wit ha limited plan. I'll switch to T-Mobile first. However my AT&T Note 2 will not work with T-Mobile's system I think. Also, I'd rather not switch as its a pain in the ass. I really hope I can get this resolved. Do you think I'd have beeter luck in person at a store?
That doesn't quite add up. How can you be on a non-smartphone plan with a smartphone for 4 years? So what plan did they have you at? And with unlimited data?
Either way, when I switched from my iPhones to the Note II, they had no problem switching my grandfathered unlimited plan to unlimited LTE. What they did tell me is they'd have to register me with a regular LTE data plan during the phone's sale, then they put it back to grandfathered unlimited status at activation, LTE and all.
Did you get the phone online or at the store?

When I switched from my dumb phone to my smart phone 4 years ago I didn't tell them about it so I guess I was still on the unlimited data for no-smart phones. Well, how stupid they are to think I go through 20-30 GB of data a month without it being a smart phone (I did a lot of tethering during those years).
I bought my Note 2 online. I assumed they wouldn't know about the phone switch since they didn't know about my phone switch 4 years ago. I guess because the Note 2 uses a different frequency they became aware of it that way. Anyway, it shouldn't matter. I was on an unlimited plan before and I think it is not unreasnable to be on an unlimited plan after switching. God how I hate AT&T. I was playing cards with some friends earlier tonight and an AT&T ad came on the TV. I wanted to throw something at the TV so badly!

So she did the next day on Tuesday, not outsources, new Kindle Plus arrived this Friday no charge at all. They sent a return label to send the bad unit back within 30 day's. Don't know if you'll have this kind of luck, but from all of my vast past experience with this type of stuff you stand a much better chance calling 9-5 Monday thru Friday. Go into an Att store. I have been in several where the people are really nice and will help you work through this. If you don't find this to be true, go to a different store and try again. Unfortunately, you might have wasted your money getting the full retail version of the phone. Why not just return it and get one through Att or Best Buy? Mine cost me $175 with the contract extension and I'm happy as can be. As for your true unlimited data, this might be the end of that! Welcome to throttling (but check out the thread on how to bypass the data limit). Whatever you do, don't stop until you've found someone who helps you convert your plan to a grandfathered unlimited one.

So you never had unlimited data for smart phones and your mad at att?! You been cheating the system for 4 years and your upset at att?! You have to have smartphone unlimited data to be grandfathered into smartphone unlimited data, it doesn't take rocket science.

After your explanation, I see now why you were switched. Here's what's apparently happening. Your smartphone before the Note II apparently didn't require LTE or report that it needed it, hence why AT&T gullible-y never realized you were using a smartphone. It's also possible that your smartphone was also on the 3G network only, which is what most non-smartphones use. Although the Note II can run on 3G networks, it would still report to the carrier that it needs access to 4G to 4G LTE networks unless you had told it not to, which seems you didn't within the hour of using it. Of course, you wouldn't have known this since you just got the phone. It also would have told AT&T that your IMEI had changed the moment you put the sim card in, which would have revealed to AT&T that you did indeed have a Note II, hence this situation.
Either way, there's no way around this situation as far as I can see unless you ask them if there's a way you can be considered as grandfathered into regular unlimited data. If you're a long time AT&T user, cite that you've been a loyal customer, but tell them you'd hate to have to go to another carrier over this. You would also need to be under contract.
No offense, and I'm guilty in another form of this in a way, but due to your circumstances, it can be perceived that you tried to cheat the system, which is in no way AT&T's fault, but yours, and you're just upset that you got caught.

If its unlim smartphone data it will be grandfathered if u bought the phone and it was manually swapped. If u have unlim smartphone data and put your sim in an lte device without telling att, the system will automatically add the 3gb plan. Its not made to add unlim even if you have it. If you upgrade at a store online or over the phone with unlim data you will keep it.

You circumvented the system for 4 years, and now that has caught up with you..
Deal with it or go to a different carrier...very simple
What phone did you switch to the Note 2 from?
I'm with the guys above, looks like you were trying to beat the system and it caught up to you.

Go into an Att store. I have been in several where the people are really nice and will help you work through this. If you don't find this to be true, go to a different store and try again. ... Whatever you do, don't stop until you've found someone who helps you convert your plan to a grandfathered unlimited one.

Until two days ago I didn't know there were two seperate unlimited plans (one for smart phone and one for non-smart phones). The reason I didn't tell AT&T I switched to a smartphone 4 years ago is because I thought I would lose my unlimited data plan. It was not to save $15 a month. I could care less about that. It hindsight I should have told them and been on the unlimited smartphone plan but I was so concerned that they would cancel my unlimited data plan I din't do that.

Well, I may have cheated the system for $15 a month it turns out but that was not my intention. My intention was only to keep unlimited data. Don't we all "cheat the system" here everytime we do something that the networks don't want us doing with our phones? Tethering, trying to get around throttling, even rooting can be considered cheating the system. I always thought that was part of the spirit of modding and customizing.

I like 'circumvented' better than cheated; it sounds less judgemental. Yeah, those may be my two options. If they are, I will choose option 2-- go to a different carrier. In that case, I'll be putting my 3-day old Note 2 up for sale I guess and buying one from T-Mobile.

I was using a HTC Touch HD. It was a great phone for the time and I installed Dutty's custom rom found on these forums. However a lot has changed in 4 years. I don't like the progress (or lack of it) with Windows and all of my 'must have' programs are now available on Android so making the switch was an each choice (and long overdue).

[Edit]
I'm sorry to anyone who misconstrued my remarks. I was upset with the customer service reprezsentative and her thick accent was not making matters any easier. Perhaps that is why I mentioned that she was probably in India. I certainly didn't mean to disparage all Indians and if anyone took it that way I am sorry.
A followup session with a rep today resulted in pretty much the same thing, except they're giving me $50 off my next bill. Really though, by that point I didn't even try that hard. I've decided I'll switch to T-Mobile because, even if I got to keep unlimited data with AT&T there would still be the throtttling issues to deal with each month. T-Mobile may not have the breakneck speed of AT&T (right now) but I don't need 50+ Mb/s.

I don't know.. AT&T didn't discontinue unlimited or throttled data back then.. You shouldn't have had any issues keeping unlimited data when switching phones unless you wanted to save $15/month.
