I am in India and have a N7100 with ARHD18. Very happy with the Rom but GPS takes long time to lock. How do I resolve this issue? Do I need to make changes in gps.conf file? What changes?

there used to be a GPS fix script but not sure it works with the latest version of android
I normally use GPS essentials to lock onto satellites then immediately open up Google maps
but I have noticed with the new Google maps satellite lock is very fast on my phone...maybe try updating your Google maps too

I recomend TopNTP in the play store. Its made by an xda member. After using this my GPS locks on in seconds. Even in doors.

Thanks for this suggestion.
I had downloaded "GPS Status" and that also seems to work. But after installing TopNTP GPS lock seems faster. I tried the Asia-India settings but GPS lock was not very good. Global-Derek Gordan setting is better. However not getting inside my house, how to get that?
The India N7100 also has GLONASS it seems, does TopNTP affect that?

you were not supposed to get GPS in the house in most cases..it's just luck actually GPS is poor inside buildings, under trees, heavy clouds, rain....for those who can get inside the building should be thankful...else you may just get AGPS instead showing your vicinity but not accurate

Holy cow--I can't believe how much faster my gps locks thanks to TopNTP. Great tip!

Is anybody else having issues when using tapatalk where you have to restart the app to get pages to load and either way they load really slow? I'm not sure if XDA has to update their tapatalk plugin or what but this speed it... painful. I'm using the latest tapatalk and I tested and confirmed my wifi speed as 15mbps.

Weird.. seems to be fine over 3g but horrible over wifi

I've noticed it too but only with pictures. I've reloaded tapatalk several times.
Edit: Oops. I thought I was on my forums :/ I don't notice anything slow on XDA.

Yeah I have problems sending private messages all the time. I also have the problem you mentioned. Drives me nuts.

Mine keeps bogging down and have had to restart the app several times today, even on a fresh reboot of the phone with little running in the background and no other app to switch to. Just gets fed up on me after a while each session.
Edit: I see there is a sticky for this, will elaborate any issues there if they persist.
I'm having major issues with slowness and it will eventually time out most of the time. This seems to be an isolated issue with XDA as any other forum i try with tapatalk will not work. I have the same issue with the official XDA app as well.
Tried running stock and PA on my nexus 5 with the same results....tried with dirty and clean flashes. I'm out of ideas, it appears to be a server side issue.
Looks like most of these posts are older, but is anyone having issues lately?

Same error that I get. I can't find any pattern. The only thing that always breaks it is my home wifi. 4g works great, 3g is hit or miss, and other wifi networks are hit or miss.
Ugh! This is driving me crazy.

Is this app broken? It keeps hanging on downloading and then telling me I'm getting 6k down. I'm getting a lot faster than that, in 2013 that kinda speed would pretty much give you virtually no connection.

Speedtest has been weird for me too. It hangs and I basically never finish the test. Uninstalled it anyway :/

Hello;
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 running Jelly Bean 4.1.2
Problem:
Sometimes my WiFi turns itself on, i turn it off and stare at the screen couple seconds later it turns itself on without me touching the phone.
When at home and the WiFi is turned off it says "Connected to VirginMedia (my WiFi)" and makes my signal cut out (Internet signal E.G H+).
Its highly annoying, ive tried changing things in the WiFi advanced settings and the mobile data settings and it still continues to do this.
I have done the *#0011# and gone to WiFi and turned power saving move off and no change :\
I havent updated anything recently and its only just occured

Amigo, "Sprint Connections Optimizer" is a system utility that Sprint jams in to their stock ROMs. You cannot remove it, all you can do is turn it off. I believe via Network Setting somewhere.
The theory behind the utility is that it checks what internet connections are available and picks the quickest one....the reality is that it wastes battery and does a terrible job at optimizing anything,
Oh okay, ive seen videos for the s3 etc its simply untick it but the Note 2 doesn't have that option I cant find it anywhere :/

Google Now, Everwhere.
With Open Mic+ for Google Now, access all the commands from anywhere on your phone. Simply say "Okay Google" or wave your hand in front of the screen. Screen on, screen off Google Now will be ready to listen.
This app is made to replicate the Googgle Now "OK, Google" feature on the Moto X. In the app version you can also wave your hand in front of the screen (on/off) to activate Google now.

There is an area in settings that you can press whether you want the app listening all the time or just when the screen is on. The feature for listening all the time is still in beta. I haven't had much time to test out whether it effects battery life or not though.

Can a Mod change the title to add Moto X since it mimicks that features

Same thing happened to me. Couldn't force stop it either. After a reboot it was gone and the problem hasn't resurfaced.
Anyone know what causes this?
Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
As per the SS it is mostly gps which can be activated by many apps.
Greenify to be honest is pretty useless lately and has been seen to cause more issues then anything.
I have the same issue with no known root cause. Once I use Google Maps, I have to turn location services off, close the app and reboot. That's the only thing that ensures the GPS isn't being used by the app (causing unnecessary battery drain). I have the app greenified as well, but doesn't help.
Anyone have some insight into why this happens n how to effectively stop it from happening other than reboot? Thank you kindly.
Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
Anyone?
Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
Guess not. Maybe @SlimSnoopOS might be able to help but this is just a dumb situation. And I hate using Maps because I know it requires a reboot at the end..
