I am really in love with the AOKP Dirty Unicorns ROM for this phone. The only Issue I am having is getting the WiFi Tether App to work.
The log shows that Ad-hoc fails. Are there any work around or fixes for this issue? 4G tethering is my only source of interwebz. And I would love to use that ROM. If anyone know anything please let me know. Thanks

Not flaming...but if you would have searched in xda or just scrolled through the Q&A section. I just posted a fix for another member. Here is the link to that thread... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2414035 ... The link to a WiFi tethering app is in the second or third post.. It will require a little setup to work.. If you need help you can post back and I'll tell you my setup.. Hope this helps..
Believe me I have searched before and never found an answer. I had this issue before with other ROMs.
Figured I ask and someone would have the answer and they did.
Thank you very much I can now use my S2 again
Where did you find the version of this app btw?

I was searching for another member and ran across a drop box link..gave it a shot..lucky is all/or maybe the fact I looked for an hour straight...lol. Who knows...just glad I seen it..Glad it helped... And ignore my comment about searching.. I wrote that during a battle with the girlfriend.. I was hating everybody. Asking questions is why xda is here.. I mean, way else than people with like interest exchanging ideas and whatever..Thanks for taking it in stride and not getting offended..

It seems those working on this ROM don't like to keep people updated so I must fix this myself, but I need help. I'm on the latest cyanogen ROM and mms does not work. It will not send whether on wifi or regular. Does ANYONE have any suggestions of where to look to fix this. I'm not a newb by any means, I've just never ran into anything like this. So any help would be appreciated.
On a side note, not all new members on XDA have no clue so I find it rude and discriminatory to label them as such by not letting them post on the development page and other annoying issues.

This has been a well known issue with the CDMA ROM for several months now. Its by no means knew news. If you would have read the thread for more than 2 pages, you would have seen that. I'm working on a fix for the MMS issue, so we can have a flawless ROM.

I actually read about 50 pages worth and saw nothing. But atleast someone is working on it. I'm going to rip apart the stock ROM and see what I can find. I'm use to working on motorolas, but again, thank you.
going back to ICS.
1st is the heating issue. I remember this being a huge issue with my HTC Touch Pro 2 back in the day.
2nd is roaming guard.
With Gingerbread, I can turn off the roam guard for calls and data. When I tried one of the first ICS builds at the beginning of this month (March), I couldn't find that anywhere. I live in an area where I am constantly roaming and it gets annoying to do the step of acknowledging that I am roaming before answering or placing a call.
Anyone know of any fixes?
Don't have either of these. On on Mijjah rom 3.1 and roam guard is in the settings and my phone never gets hot. Maybe u should try it again.

I see that you a somewhat a new member...so ill try to be nice Might I suggest posting in a thread already relating to the ics ROM(s) you are having problems with.... They may have fixes already or it may be a known issue....
Rather than post a thread... Try searching for your problem.... (if you did im sorry but im sure most would agree this thread is "clutter"...... Props for not posting this in the development section)
As for you problems I experience not one with fc18

Anytime I've ever been flagged to allow roaming it has offered me the choice of never seeing the message again. Does your phone give you that message?

Got to agree do do t see the reason for your thread especially if the last time you tried ICS was a month ago. Your problems I have never seen. I tried CM9 and Gummy/Codename. Try it again...... simple solution

also fc22 does not have any heating issues at fc15/fc18 in my usage.
Also, these threads are pointless, its well known that ICS are still in test build stages. If you dont wanna deal with the bugs, then DONT!!!!
sorry about the thread guys and thank you for the replies.
my answer wasnt really answered on the roaming issue but I think I will go ahead and flash a ROM again. Maybe 4.04 will address that issue.

Im pretty sure the later builds have solved that problem (roam guard off setting either missing or not 'sticking') the only time I have had the roam guard keep annoying me (after selecting dont bother me again) turned out there was other issues as well, and probly a bad flash/download. Try the newer versions. Oh and if you did indeed search, posting in the form of a question in the Q&A section usually gets less flaming... good luck.

Thge options for roaming didnt come in until fc07 i believe. Before that there wasnt even a menu option for roaming at all.
In all the current builds fc14 and higher i can confirm having the option to turn roaming on or off and to have romaing guard on voice or data
This was my first thought
Okay, so my mouth has been watering over AOKP since it came out. I love the build, but I can't use it at my house due to its lack of Wifi Calling. I've tried pulling the apk from stock Touchwiz, but to no avail. I didn't expect that to work, but its all I could think of. Would it be possible to create a patch to flash on AOSP ROMs that would allow for wifi calling? I've seen it implemented in CM7 on the HTC Espresso, (a device where the last official HTC release was froyo) so I have a little hope. So I'd like to ask kindly, would someone please help me or work with me on a solution? I have google voice, but it doesnt support MMS, so I cant troll anyone with my meme app I pretty much live in Deliverenceville so reception is a joke on any carrier Thanks in advance. I really appreciate any help.

Wow! thats a cool thread! Its sad to see all the negativity.. cuz i know with all the work been done for these phones so far.. I know someone can figure it out..
I'm using the task and ktoonsez's aokp jb ROM and posted in the Q&A thread but seems to be buried under the other questions. So I'm wondering if anybody else is experiencing this problem with other ROMs as well? I did a search on Google but got mixed results. Some say it's a driver issue while others say it might be defective hardware.
I did a fullwipe before installing the custom ROM and had no problem for about a day. Now I get this error repeatedly. Numerous reboots will get it to work again, but not for long.
Any suggestion is appreciated. Thanks.

why wouldnt you just ask it again then? i see no reason to start a new thread for it dude. camera works awesome. redownload the rom, fully wipe your device, and then reflash.
Sorry task. I didn't get ant to post the same question again and again if nobody else is having the problem. Might as well post it here to see if it could be a hardware issue.

no worries. sometimes there will be a million posts all at once so i end up missing some. if you ask a question and i dont get to it in a few hours or nobody helps you out, just bump it one more time. I will usually see it and answer the question if i have the time or an answer to give.
Hi guys,
I'm new to posting on forums so I'll basically state the problems I'm having with the Liquidsmooth v2.2 rom. So I have tested my phone's data transfer with iPhone only and confirmed that I have been receiving my text only when I call someone else. I have also found that the incoming calls are getting blocked somehow. I've tried other roms as well and the same thing happens, so I'm not sure if it's even the Liquidsmooth rom itself. I'm not sure what's there to try, so if anyone has had experienced this before please let me know.
As of now, I'm running the Liquidsmooth v2.2 rom with the baseband L710VPBMB1. Let me know if there's any additional information needed.

Post this in the Liquid Smooth thread. There, maybe one of the devs or someone else that is also running the ROM will see your problem and maybe have a fix for you!

I don't think I have privilege to post on any forum besides the Q&A and the General forums because of my member ranking. If anyone can post in their thread and ask the devs to see if they can help me, I'd be very much appreciative for that.

ok first off, if it is happening with other roms, that rules out the liquid smooth rom itself as the problem.
question, did you have this problem on stock? like before rooting?
I'd back up flash a tw ROM or restore one and update profile and prl or re activate the phone by pressing ##72786# and letting the phone re activate after then restoring liquidsmooth and see how that goes

You're absolutely correct. I had to contact Sprint about the problem and they had told me that Sprint was doing some fixes around my area so that I had to wait until this morning. It's working fine now, I shouldn't have blamed the LiquidSmooth rom, my mistake. It was the first rom that I flashed on my new phone so I thought that might be the reason that the data to my phone got blocked. All in all, it was a temporary problem by the Sprint network around my local area.
The liquidsmooth rom's great -- very stable. Thanks everyone for your contribution.
