[Q] Tuning LCD color in kernel/driver - 8.9" Kindle Fire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

The kindle fire HD 8.9" is known to have some issues with display color accuracy, basically colors are a bit too yellow/green, and don't saturate red quite enough.
someone on a forum mentioned that the app "Screen Adjuster" can help to fix colors a bit, but I noticed this app slows down system in general (for example scrolling in web browser is no longer smooth, on my KFHD 8.9 running Hashcode's CM10.2).
does anyone know of any tweaking done for display/LCD driver for the kindle fire HD 8.9 to help with this issue?
Is there any way to tweak color balance without slowing down the system? might the LCD or GPU have some capabilities to tweak color without slowing down the system?
looks like it wouldn't be easy

When I adjust the DPI on Kindle Fire, keyboard gets cut off!

I love my kindle fire but lots of apps look like crape on it as they weren't designed for a 7 inch screen. My biggest gripe is that the font is too small. I can adjust it via a DPI changing app (180 is about right), but then my keyboard is too big and gets cut off.
Is there a fix for this? Maybe adjust the keyboard dpi/ size in build.prop after the main dpi is set to what I want?

Hmm, all the apps work fine for me, and in the right resolution.
Make sure they are for PowerVR.
What ROM are you using?
-If it doesn't work, don't do it!
Well thanks for your help but my workatound was to use another keyboard from the app store. With one of those, the keyboard stays the same size no matter what I change the dpi to. I'm using thumb board

[Q] Kindle Fire 1st generation - Battery indicator question

Kindle Fire 1st generation - Battery indicator question
Due to hanging problems I swapped the: 0xD34D [ROM][AOSP][10/10/2012] Jelly Bean Tablet Edition aka Project Jandycane
For: Hashcode [ROM-AOSP] Stock Jelly Bean 4.2.2_r1 for the Kindle Fire [02-12 4.2.2_r1]
One of the things I liked about 0xD34D Jandycane was: “(Version 1.7.1) Added Battery bar option for displaying a bar where the length indicates the battery level and Added Battery percentage option to display battery % on top of battery icon”
I found this very useful, especially having weaker eye vision, and miss this in the Stock Jelly Bean 4.2.2_r1.
Some of the bar battery level icons are really small and hard to see. With 0xD34D bar you could see the battery level clearly at all times, without having to do anything.
- QUESTION: Is there a similar alternative I could use, and what/where/how and without having to do any technical alterations myself? -
The nearest I found on Google Play Store was: “Jelly Bean Skins - UCCW [HD]” but you need to have UCCW installed (don’t even know what that is) and sounds too technical for me anyway!
AND: Another thing I liked on 0xD34D jandycane was the ability to adjust the screen brightness quickly from the bottom bar pop-up. It has a slider bar adjuster, so you could set it to whatever brightness you need quickly.
One of the problems I found was that, I used the Kindle a lot indoors, and had the screen brightness turned down low to conserve battery, but if I switched on outside (and hadn’t adjusted the brightness before), especially in bright days or sunshine, I was unable to see the password screen and login. I had to wait for some darker place before I could use my Kindle!

Trickster Mod color-settings, Intensity

Hi forums,
TL;DR: Could turning up the color-settings in TricksterMOD cause burn-ins?
I recently got my GNex and after fixing the SIM-tray making the phone usable again I of course unlocked the bootloader and flashed ROMs and Kernels (atm CM10.2 latest nightly + Franco kernel) and I use TricksterMOD to make some specific settings (like turning FSync off) and I also found Settings for screen colors, now what I did is just turn those sliders up all the way and set all other options (like Contrast and Gamma) to 0 (as seen on the attatchment), now I have an extremely vibrant and colorful display without this annoying blue-tone everywhere, even whites look more natural now but I've seen some AMOLED-Phones (specifically 2 GS2s from friends) that have things like the Status Bar or the keyboard burned in into the Display and now I worry that that could maybe happen to my Phone as well because of the settings.
I'd like to know your experience and if you think that that's possible, if so I'll turn them down even though I really really love this display now, it's literally the best display I've ever owned (and I have two IPS Monitors in front of me right now)
I'm using a completely black theme over most of the Phone (black status bar of course, black keyboard, black menu-elements, dark backgrounds, saves Battery and looks insanely awesome on this display) that should prevent burn in's from for example the keyboard since black pixels are not lit, but I want to know if it's more likely if the display is brighter due to the settings.
Sry for this long post but you've got the short version at the top if you don't want to read everything
Thanks for your time and help in advance!
Greetings from Germany.

display color setting

hello
Is it the software or the way in which the three primary colors red, green and blue high or low on the screen.
Android is there a way to adjust the screen colors

Click to collapse
I don't think so... Kindle had issues and never got a utility to adjust it.
I checked my colors against my TV which is calibrated. Factory ROM gives a darn good picture, for such a device. Some overly reds but with proper brightness they are less noticeable. I don't know what setting you have the display on, I set mine for movie and leave it there. Dynamic and Standard is not good for Movies and Pictures. Though if you play games Dynamic may help. Standard is basic for reading and browsing.
Hope that helps

Blinding white app loading screens

I think this issue is present on most android platforms and devices however it's particularly bad on my Fire Stick right now. Subject says it all, why must app developers use white instead of black for this pre-app load process? Is anyone aware of any system-wide tricks that can be used to override these white loading screens and use black instead?
