I recently flashed Jedi X17 on my SGNII and I hate the stock messaging app that touchwiz comes with. Any suggestions on a different one?? Also I need the stock camera back I uninstalled with titanium because I had the 4.3 cam but then realized that the messaging app doesn't support the 4.3 cam. Thanks for taking the time to read.

Yo! If you still want the Samsung Camera......
Go in the .zip file for the ROM you're using, and extract the Samsung Camera from System > Apps.
Put the Camera.apk on your SD card, and push it/install it to System > Apps using Root Explorer.
Change the permissions to RW-R--R--, and check your App Drawer for your new app. If it isn't there, reboot and wallah, you have the Samsung Camera again!

Works great on GSIII running ParanoidAndroid 2.51.
I moved .apk to system/app and extract the two zip files to system/lib
After a few hours the gallery crashes. Then the camera no longer works. After a reboot it will work few one picture.

Thanks for putting the info all in one place.
Have not changed my build prop, but everything but the sphere viewing is working.
Although I can see the sphere view on Google plus on my computer, which is really neat. No more taking multiple pictures of a worksite, can just take a sphere pic, and attach to my work order. Company already used to street view to look at. Will be using this a lot...

I might be wrong, but i'm pretty sure you just need to remove the file from your phone. you could use file explore and delete it, or if you're lucky then it will flash as app and you can remove it from your app list. I'm pretty sure it's the first one tho.
Hi guys,
I'm super new to Android. Bought the note 2 as the first android after 10 years of Symbian. I'm completely lost with the flashing thing on Androids.
I have few questions:
1. Does rooting/flashing delete the phone data?
2. If I flash the keyboard and then I flash the camera mod, do I lose my data everytime I add a mod?
3. What else should I do with my Note 2 to get the most out of it?
Thanks

If youre only flashing the camera and keyboard, you dont need to wipe anything, and you dont lose anything either(data). It just puts the 4.2 camera, 4.2 keyboard and 4.2 gallery. As far as other mods, just read on the thread you get them from to see if there are any warnings before flashing. But the golden rule of flashing is always do a nandroid before you flash anything.

Even though I like the sync photos that this gallery adds, but, it doesn't cache thumbnails at all, you have to wait each time you scroll a page, this is useless

Hello, i just flashed paranoidkangdroid on my AT&T samsung galaxy s3 and I noticed something. I saw that the gapps had installed the crappy jellybean camera, and not the new one with the photosphere, and gestures etc.
I want to flash the 4.2 camera .apk, but I don't want the 4.1 camera and gallery sitting there being a nuinsance.
I went to go uninstall it using titanium backup/root explorer, but I can't seem to find the 4.1 camera or gallery .apk
Where exactly are they and what are they called?
The easiest would be reflashing the ROM and then flashing 4.2 Gapps, but then you get all 4.2 apps. Otherwise you could download a root file explorer from the market (nandroid first) and then delete all gallery in /system/apps. Then flash your 4.2 camera.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
If I reflash, will I lose the group sms capability that paranoidkangdroid has?
I installed the 4.2 camera and went into Settings> Apps selected the 4.1 camera and clicked "disable" removed the 4.1 camera and gallery and left 4.2
I'm running PAC-Man but it should be the same on yours.

Hi guys
Basically due to the battery drain, I would like to switch back to 4.1.1. The problem is the stock browser in 4.1.2 has this text reflow (where you zoom in and double tap to resize text width) This is kinda a big deal to me coming from a HTC and I would very much like to keep this feature.
Is there any way to restore this browser onto the 4.1.1 stock rom? I tried uninstalling it via TitaniumBackup and then using my backup to restore the older version, but it just hanged at the "restoring" dialogue forever. I have also tried every app processing mode to no avail.
Can this be done? Or is there any other way to do this without titanium backup? I really wanna switch back to 4.1.1 but can't without this feature in the new browser.
Thanks for any help.
Seriously don't downgrade to 4.1.1
It has a high vulnerability to sds bug and exynos exploit.

I'm willing to take risk until Samsung fix the battery drain.
Does anyone know how I can get the text reflow on 4.1.1? I'm surprised people aren't that concerned with it. The reflow browser was always a massive advantage htc had over samsung.
I use chrome. So I have no idea.

Hello i Put the cyanogenmod Mms.apk onto my phone. changed the stock messaging app to .bak and all that stuff. But every time i receive of try to send a MMS. The app forecloses. and i have to go through the process of deleting it from /system/app/ and putting back the stock touchwiz one, and then putting AOSP back. is there a way to fix this?
Thanks

Out of curiosity will the actual AOSP mms.apk work on this phone? I have a friend that's been thinking about rooting his Note II so he can install the AOSP messaging app but I don't want to send him down a path of rooting and all that for no reason (at least to him).
