GOOGLE NOW fully working for stock rooted ics

hello guys i root my phone and i have the stock ics for galaxy s3 t-mobile and i give a try to the jelly bean feature GOOGLE NOW fully working on ICS

Its like saying "remind me"....If you tell GN "Please tell me" anything it will set an alarm...just like "remind me".

Okay I have read instructions for our devices and I'm kind of confused. Do we need to just download the. Apk file or the zip or both? Do we flash the zip in recovery and that's it? I read the instructions and I'm sorry if I'm a little slow but it just wasn't all that clear to me.

I used the M6 file from this post on that thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29756226&postcount=2856 It's working great so far. The only issue I've found is that you can't exit using the back button. You need to press the home button to exit.
Also, even though the instructions say its for CWM, it's not. You can flash it using any recovery.
Download the M6 file, copy it to your SD card, reboot into recovery and flash it, then reboot and poof you're done.

I flashed the zip from this comment http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29756226&postcount=2856 (M6) version and all works well.

You just need to flash the zip in recovery and it'll work.

Just flash the new version.

Just flashed on FreeGSM R5, works flawless.

Me too, working perfect!!

Okay how do I remove this if I don't like it? It's pretty cool but seems so finicky to me.

Turned my double press home button to voice dial and not a voice anymore, I didn't like it. Flashed my TWRP back up and I'm normal again. Good luck!

Is anybody actually excited to use the multiview feature? I mean, ya its extremely awesome what this guy did and the option to have it awesome but seeing my friend have the note 2 and use the feature just seems like its not as "beneficial as it seems" maybe people can list what they would use the feature for? I see one good reason... editing build.prop and having xda open in the other window...

I could not get the wifi hotspot to work. Please post steps as to how you did.

Any one got multiview to work? I can find it under settings i flashed the zip but i cant find out how to use it i sesrch everywhere on my phone.

Once you are done, then go to twitter or something and click a link and hit "Popup window" then you can use Multi view.

It's a variant of multi-view basically.

He has 2 windows open at once, sort of like multi-view.

That's pop up browser not multi view, their is no need to flash the .zip for that. Also flashing the .zip does nothing you have to manually place the files yourself.

What's your battery life like with this? I'm just starting to use it but I was plugged in all night and now an hour after unplugging I'm already at 89%??

Not so great here either. Android system usage is very high when the screen is off.
This is like when I was running the LI8 Jellybean leak, although since this is a port, the reasons for high android system usage while screen off could very well have different causes I guess, but the symptom is the same.

Turning off Camera sound apk -Root need

I didn't see a posting for this yet and there's only a few downloads for it but try
Camera Sound Off at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.akirilow.tool.cso&hl=en for an easy way to turn off the camera shutter sound.
Found it last night.
You need to be rooted.
Hope this helps someone.

Yep, I like the easy ... ie lazy man's way:laugh:

Fyi this also kills the spen remove and put back sounds (and who knows what else) uninstalled

A user has found that access to RAM is basically unrestricted in the stock kernel for exynos 4 devices, including our version of the Note 2.
At the thread there is a terminal technique to check if you are vulnerable.
Anyone on a custom kernel: If you could run the commands and post whether your kernel is safe or not that would be extremely helpful.
In the meantime, be extremely careful installing apps, as this bug requires no special permissions.

To those following that link, be aware that the section it is posted in has very different and much more restrictive rules.

Installed the apk toggle on my phone.
Works, but fix will break camera. Use toggle to turn off fix and camera works again, just remember to turn back on after taking picture.
Running Jedi 6.1.1 w/ asylumkernel

Also everytime you reboot you will have to re-apply fix.

It has been reported this breaks the camera on certain devices(gs3 and I believe the note 10.1) but not the note 2.

Just a quick sanity check here. You said installed. Did you run the app and have it 'fix it'. I can install and not have any problems with my camera just breaks after I fix it.
Would also be useful if we post what rom and kernel used so we can compare what works and what doesn't.

Rogers Note 2 on Jedi X 6.0 with Perseus Alpha 27 Kernel using Chainfire's fix gives me the green camera.

Curio's fix, on Jelly Thunder = green camera. no biggie though i un-check, take the photo and re-check.

An OTA fix has been released for UK SG3s. That suggests progress, so hopefully our N2s won't be far behind.

I haven't looked at the link but if its what I think it is u can use the app to root also if those haven't been rooted and also patch the exynos. The thread I've read it did break camera if u where on the latest update but not the one before . I hope Samsung n Att release a update that will fix this for our note 2 soon just careless on their part that there is even a security hole to begin with.

Anyhow, thanks elflip88. Thats what i was running too and i am able to disable it. But i am asking because the developer of light flow is absolutely thrilled to know i have fixed this issue that he has been trying to fix for months. But the only way to implement this fix is by either deleting the stock browser or flashing it through recovery.
I am working on modding the apk further to allow for a regular install without root. That way people who aren't rooted can still benefit. However, if one is not able to disable the stock browser, and they install my modded one, they will have two "internets" in their app drawer xD So im hoping stock system allows one to disable the browser.

Im stock not rooted and I can't disable it. It shows the disable button but I can't click it
