Battery still showing 100% - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
I'm using my Arc S for 1year without problem, but last week i've unlocked my BL and installed cm10.1
Everything works fine but, i dunno why, i've reverted back to stock ICS
Then my problem starts, my battery still showing 100% but it drains. And after 15-16 hours my phone automatically shut down because batt is empty. I've wiped cache, dalvik and battery stats min. 5 times and i'm out of ideas :-/
Can you guys tell me what i need to do? Reflash ROM?

Thats... really wierd. You can try one of those;
1. Remove the battery for a while
2. There is a battery calibrator script in the v6 supercharger thread, maybe it helps
3. Install the rom (and maybe the kernel too) again

I had got the same problem when i go back to stock rom. In fact i find a solution, when we flash a new kernel, it's seems we add to erase sometimes the old kernel, then the battery meter works again:
fastboot erase boot
then
fastboot flash boot boot.img

Okay guys, i've flashed lups v16 and it works now

Or you can wipe battery start in cwm

Search forums first next time. Widely spoken problem, and solution is easy.
Pull out battery! Or, if you have unlocked bootloader, enter recovery and wipe battery stats
Also there is an app on the market called battery calibrator, but you need root for it
Let me know if it worked

Seems this is a problem of Sony Ericsson. Sorry but you're not the only one having this issue, I don't know more solutions. Guess you'll have to wait for a fix, or claim warranty if you have it

i have the same problem,i just make an update 2.3.4,suddenly i got 0% battery, since there is no solution yet,i will try to change the fuel gauge.and i will post here if it works...
updating to 2.3.4 also cause this issue?
mind if i ask, do u haf root before update? upgraded from 2.3.2 or 2.3.3? upgraded thru OTA or SEUS?
coz previously i had upgrade from 2.3.2 to 2.3.4 OTA, not encountering this issue.
i got the 0% issue, after downgraded to 2.3.2 from 2.3.4.
try with an external battery charger... maybe it ll help..
Charging problems
I have just updated my Sony Ericsson LT15i via update service..Am running global firmware and i have noticed that when charging the phone stop to charge at 93%.And when you remove the charger it shows 100%..What could be the problem??

hi everyone!!! proudly to say that the my problem with 0% battery level was solved... i just changed the fuel gauge then ay relock the bootloader then use flasher tool for flashing the build 181....
i have an extra working board of xperia arc then i try only to change the fuel gauge...its work!!!
Can you give a little more detailed info juvanni?
really! nice job i have same mobile with same problem now will try it!
thanks for info...
Sainty, the problem of my mobile before is no arabic language. so i did,i unlocked the
bootloader and got rooted....so i do the arabic language procedure but my version is
2.3.3...then i use update service to update my version, power on the mobile,i got the
0% battery level... i was surprised that version 2.3.4 is not good for a rooted
device...my fault is,i forgot to relocked the bootloader of the device...
since i have an extra xperia arc with a broken LCD,i borrowed its fuel gauge IC then
put to my 0% battery problem...now, the mobile is working properly without the 0%
battery level....
hint....the fuel gauge ic is near at the battery terminal of the XPERIA ARC...
Thanks juvanni - interesting

There is no such thing as battery calibration. Don't believe this crap.
To OP: Go find BetterBatteryStats on this forum, download it, use your phone for few days and then look in the app. You should see, what is draining your phone. If you can't understand, post some screenshots here.
Have you rooted your phone? Unlocked bootloader, any custom stuff, anything?

Help: Bootloop and Setup 4.2.2 Multiable Roms.

I have a backup for 2.3.0 LiquidSmooth that works fine and reboots and everything.
I change a few settings such as:
-Overclock to 1350
-Change voicemail number
-Change Ringtones
-Edit the Navring
-Change the Alpha of the status and nav bar to 100%
-Update a few Data Apps from the market.
-Turn off Drymatic tiles.
-Set an Alarm
-And a few other tweaks I cant remember.
Then All of a sudden I try to Reboot and Bootloop (Ive waited 10 minutes before pulling the battery) Then I restore my backup and try the changes again and it does the exact same thing but if I dont make those changes it works fine.
Can someone Please explain to me what is going on. Im not stupid I have flashed many roms before but never seen something this strange where I dont even change the /system folder and it bootloops
(
I have restored just the /data floder with CMR and it booted up fine so it has to be soemthing in the /data folder
The phone works 100% on other roms
I have been trouble shooting for a few hours with no luck please help.
I have 7GB left in storage and the /system folder has 374mb left.
)
About 2 days later after This happened I decided to Try a different 4.2.2 ASOP rom, Axiom by DroidTh3ory. And after I got done setting it up the same thing happened D: Please help me.

I did a full wipe before Each one but I restored some data files for The live wallpaper,Homescreen, and Widgets when I flashed but It rebooted fine after that. It wasnt till I got to fine tuning my settings that I got a bootloop.
Hmm... you restored the backup and installed the kernel directly without rebooting? if your talking about trickstermod in data then i think yea it should reset someone knowing better than me can comment but as far as i know trickstermod can detect different kernels and it resets when you do flash a diff. kernel
Full wipes also an option when all else fails

Im talking about the Perforance controls built into roms settings now a days. All I do is bump it up to 1350 mHz I dont change kernels I just move the slider xD. For all these test Im on the kernels that come in the rom (Lean for Liquid not sure aobut Axiom though)
I just tested. I changed the Overclock value to 1350 mHz on my backup then rebooted so that isnt it.
Does anyone know of any Rouge apps that cause Bootloop problems after thier settings are changed or any settings in AOKP that cause bootloops
Nah, they should be the same i don't know it's a weird problem we have here LOL

I know right I have never had anything like this before I just restored my old rom but flashed a new kernel and it seems to be booting (Rebuilding davlik right now) but I dont know if that will fix it. I think having a phone that is almost 2 years old is really weighing down on the software.
Hope it works, sorry couldnt help that much.. you should try a flash install i know it's gonna be time consuming and a little work but it'll be worth it in the end
It seems to be working now here is a Screenshot of my homescreen to say thanks for helping. Just ask if you want a walk through on how to build it.

Just a question. Is this with my 7up kernel the case? I´m asking because I added the fix for this into this kernel. However there is nothing to worry about when it´s showing you 99% right after unpluging the charger. It´s like dodora3d and thearif already said.
So well I´m not sure why the fix isn´t working for you, but I assume the reason is the same why BLX is not showing up for you. I guess something didn´t get whiped correctly after flashing the kernel, so when you want to get them working you still can redo the whiping cache, dalvik cache and fixing permissions.

Yes you can. It will rebuild both and this may even fix some problems if there are any. i´m even often fixing permissions twice. First after flashing kernel and whiping caches and then after booting the rom and launching each app.

Question Poco F3 Battery status is still at 70%. No discharge and charge is shown.

Need your urgent help to fix the issue of Poco F3 Battery status is still at 70%. No discharge and charge is shown. I have tried to change with custom and stock ROM but no solution is found. I am now currently logged in on the stock ROM of Indonesia and waiting to find a solution.
This was never faced until I 1st tried to change/flash stock ROM from another region. Though I have tried again with concerned regional ROM but issue is still there.
Need some urgent support from anyone around the world.
try flashing global rom or just try downloading some third party battery showing app and keep it in ur phone and the final method is to go to severice centre

i have same problem here.. anyone help?
I suppose the partition with battery drivers is corrupted. I lost all sensors in other device when drivers disappeared ... But I had full nandroid backup and restored corrupted partition fixed a problem. You use one of two twrp-s publiced in XDA, it means you do not have any nandroid backup and no chance for it. The second way is to download fastboot (not recovery) version of miui and flash it using Xiaomi app for it on your computer. Fastboot version recreate all partitions. Remember to not lock device during flashing.
When you will finish and install custom ROM again, let's use twrp: 3.6.1_11-RedmiK40_v3.4_A12-alioth-skkk_49fc7a15.img and prepare full nandroid backup for future use.
I have this problem too.
I followed this guide for flashing and phone started boot looping and this problem with battery started.
"
Installation via Pixel Experience Recovery (Updated 09/05/2022 to latest version):
In notes included Boot, Dtbo (write #dtbo_a12) and rom itself, you can install PE Recovery via:
fastboot flash boot_ab boot.img
fastboot flash dtbo dtbo.img
And reboot to Pixel Experience recovery via
fastboot reboot recovery
After this just wipe data, select apply update via adb, and sideload rom via
adb sideload
PixelPlusUI_4.5_alioth-12.1-20220509-1615-OFFICIAL.zip
If recovery not boots - flash also #vendor_boot
