Hi All,
I haven't been able to find a solution when I searched so I'm hoping someone can help.
I want to know if there is a way I can control my galaxy tab 10.1 through my galaxy nexus kind of like a Bluetooth mouse. I use my tab as a media station and watch a lot of HD movies through it but its a tad annoying when I have to leave the sofa to adjust volume or fast forward/rewind etc....
I can control my laptop using my nexus but can't find the same thing for controlling the tab.
Hope you can help
Cheers

with THIS guys....i used my TF month ago..based on which apk you install, and in which devices (phone\tablet)you can control tablet to phone or phone to tablet to play some games, using mouse, hdmi etc etc..read the 3ad and pay attention to all very closely..and you couldn't have problems..
Plus you can just use a wireless mouse

Hey all,
Anyone give those Samsung NFC TecTiles a go with their GalNex? It looks like really neat stuff!

For what they are, the tags are overpriced. You can get tags for about 1/3 the cost from Tagstand.

Which app do you use to customize the NFC tags?

Yeah, the tags are really over priced... but they get the job done. I picked some up at my local Sprint store for me and my dad, (he has the Evo LTE) and they work fine.

i ordered a box of them from samsung with my 50% off coupon code.
however, i've never used nfc before outside of wallet.
if i set one to toggle wifi, gps, start car dock and put it in my car, when i scan it once to activate car mode, if i scan it a second time when i leave the car, will it
Only one way to find out... mind sharing the coupon code? Is it for Samsung.com?

I have played with the Tec Tiles. I hear that you can use the app in conjunction with Tasker to do more powerful things. Anyone know anything about this?

Is there a way I can put configuration on these other than using the TecTile app?
I want to put corporate settings for a wifi network on there, so the user simply adds their username and password and the rest of the network is setup. Is this possible?

Try NFC task launcher
Anyone known what this does?
They are 'RFD' type stickers that can be used with any Samsung Android device that has NFC. You place a sticker somewhere (desk, car etc.) and when the phone / tablet is near to it, you can have its settings preset though an app (i.e. bluetooth on, wireless off, show map app etc.)
Check out the TecTiles free app in the Play Store for more details.
This wont work with Note 10.1 as it does not have NFC
Thanks guys.
At least we have to draw making it special. Haha
Don't forget the rf blaster and peel that makes it an awesome universal remote, even though the app isn't the best to setup.I wish they would make more apps for the rf blaster

Previously I could not download movies from the market(i was rooted) now that aokp has worked that out, I want to mirror from my gnex to my TV. I have an mhl cable, but it won't mirror. What do I need to change to get it to work?

Hi, as I am not 100% satisified with the amount of storage the new nexus 7 tablet provides (lack of SD card slot),I have been trying to watch movies from a USB through an OTG adapter. How can I watch the movies or what apps do I need in order to be able to watch them?
Thanks, Stuart McD
Get an USB OTG cable and Stickmount or Nexus Media Importer. Just plug and open one of the apps. (Stickmount doesn't work for me, I don't know why)

I know this is overkill for what you are trying to do but it may interest some. I got a Western Digital 2 terabyte Live network hard drive and put all of my movies and TV shows on it. It is ethernet only so I have it plugged into my router. They have an android app that let's you access it from anywhere you have Internet. You can stream videos from it or download them. You can also upload to it from any where. It works fantastic.

Can you verify that Nexus Media Importer works for you?
I'm using Nexus Media Importer along with the MX player to watch videos on my Nexus 7. It works fine.

Do you need to download the video to the nexus 7 or can you watch it from the USB?
The videos are kept on the usb stick, no need to download to your Nexus.
