Do it manually, download the .ftf, use Flashtool and flash the ROM. If your phone is not rooted, then root it.

I have one Sony AT&T ION and want to upgrade it to Jelly Bean as well. Can you please tell me how to do it? Any link is available? Thanks a lot!

you can update to JB via flashtool (unofficial) method.
see this threads:
1. flashing instructions
2. software download links
With the ATT devices I highly suggest you use the Rogers .211 ftf. After that try ExistenZ.
This works
I recently bought an LT28AT off ebay. I was dismayed when I started reading about the bootloader, the lack of JB for the ATT crowd...
So I decided to take a gamble and flash the Rogers file [Sony Xperia Ion (LT28i)_6.2.B.0.211_Rogers (Canada).ftf].
I can confirm that if you follow the instructions (I used the Linux version), you CAN use the Rogers JB flavor for the LT28i on this phone.
MAJOR CAVEAT: YOU MUST EXCLUDE BASEBAND WHEN FLASHING TO THE ROGERS ROM WITH AN AT&T PHONE. IF YOU DON'T DO THIS, YOU CAN'T MAKE CALLS.
I have attached an image that shows where the option is. TICK THAT DAYUM BOX.I didn't the first time, and inadvertently flashed the wrong baseband. Calls sounded like my phone was at the bottom of a swimming pool. I remedied that by flashing back to AT&T ICS, then flashing back to Rogers, this time wisely skipping baseband.
I haven't fully tested it, but it is FAR better than the ICS version that I updated it to using Sony companion.
So for those wondering, if you have an LT28AT, and you want to use Jellybean, I can confirm it works. The other fine posters above will direct you to how.
Now to experiment further...

Anyone make an FTF yet? I just flashed to the GB Rogers version but didn't get any updates available when I checked.

I wouldn't bother with the rogers firmware due to all the bloatware. I installed the Rogers GB firmware following the rooting process and used the International version instead and everything works fine!

I don't want to use it but some people might want an FTF of the stock firmware for backup purposes.

True, but we'll probably get the lte symbol back with the Rogers. You can always De-bloat the fw.

Hello guys,
After updating My Acro S i have done this directly from SEUS ..
It's an .ftf file so Flash with Flash tools
For them who kept there BootLoader locker (as me) just chek "Exclude Kernel" in Flashtools
No Brand , From France
Download Link On Google Drive Mirror It, as you want
If it's help You, hit thanks
Pims83, exactly what is this file ?
I would like to unlock my Acro and flash a custom ROM but there does not seem to be any custom ROMs that are very stable so I'm curious as to what this file is ?
Cheers, LL13-
Hi,
Plz before posting search.
- Stock, means that is the original ROM from Sony
- No brand, means there no modification from any provider
- .FTF, this type of file can be flashed with flashtools
So with this Rom you can't unSimLock your phone you have just the original rom from sony
I hope that help you

Hey i am getting an acro s very soon and was on the forums checking here. There seems to be no roms that are being developed that is good for the phone. Xperia S roms can work but you won't get the memory card to function. From what i have heard the phone performs excellent with the stock sony rom. Acro s isn't sold everywhere in the world that is why we might not see much custom roms for it.
Actually you hav 2 rom that are fully working for XPERIA ACRO S :
STOCK LT26w 6.1.A.2.50 Modded by Pims 83 that work with locked bootloader
or
Erachter ROM v5.1 but you need an unlocked Bootloader
that all for now

Yes, but be careful about flashing the baseband, or you might not be able to get a signal (happend to me when I flashed a Taiwanese Ftf onto my Acro HD). Either exclude the baseband, or have an ftf of a Docomo rom handy, and flash just the baseband from that if it doesn't work.
I'll give it a go then.
Thanks
I've installed it, worked perfectly. Then I got the message there was an update, so I installed that as well, no more connection to my provider.
Luckily I had a Docomo firmware at hand, flashed the Docoma baseband and now everything works perfectly without the Japanese apps on it.
Thanks.
Since I flashed this ROM, I can no longer enter flash mode to load another ROM with flash tool (I push vol down while connecting to the USB, it just starts charging)

Odd, never had that problem. Did you start flash tool with the phone pluged into the USB, then turn it off and unplug the USB before turning the phone off?
I let flash tool running, unplugged the phone an powered it down
hi do you have jellybean stock FTF file?
Hi all,
After searching the forums for a while I've found no solution to my question .. so I hope this thread won't be a duplicate but if it is, please link me to the original one.
My phone: NTT Docomo Xperia Acro (SO-02C) from Japan
Currently rooted using Gingerbread 2.3
Kernel version: 2.6.32.9.perf
[email protected]#1
Build number: 4.0.1.C.1.9
I wanted to apply the official ICS update that was for the Xperia Arc using the manual method by flashing it in CWD but, because the Xperia Arc is the model below mine there's a few functions that's added on so I'm worried about the compatibility with the hardware after I apply it (if I can).
I checked kernel version and build number for the Japanese Arc (screenshot of system info: http://www.chaoticshore.org/blog/image/screenshot.png )
I noticed the kernel and build number is the same but the rest isn't (because this Arc in the picture is Android 2.3.3, but my Acro is 2.3.4) so the baseband version is also different.
If I attempt to apply the update to my Acro, should ICS still be compatible?
What are the chances of it bricking if I try to flash the ICS rom into my phone?
Also, I'm aware I may lose the dedicated built in functions like infrared transmission & oneSeg.
Thanks!
I feel like I should reply, even though I don't really know the answer. But from what I have heard, arc firmware will not work on the arco. If I was you, I would not try it. Hasn't docomo pushed an ICS update yet?
If not, the best advice, never buy a Japan only phone if you want to mod it!

Hi, I am new to Android and rooting and had a couple questions. I will be getting the Xperia Play R800x soon. If you get the bootloader unlocked from SE, do you still need to root the device? I have been trying to get everything ready for when I get the phone. I have Android SDK and Flashtool installed. If I want to get the NXT Light Edition Rom, do I need a custom kernel as well? Thanks.

If you get your bootloader unlocked and flash a custom kernel/ROM no you dont need to root as nearly all, if not all come with root. Seen as you have flashtool and everything else use a custom kernel. If you want to return to stock then just reflash a ftf file for r800x , make sure you dont flash a ftf for r800i though. I dont have the link handy but there is a thread here with all ftf files. Just search in XdA

slim bean performs very well also.
As the title says, attached are the links to download the 10.3.1.A.0.244 Commercial/Journalists (1270-4005) firmware for the C6506. This contains the same baseband needed for the AT&T LTE, not sure about others. From my observations, the firmware is identical to the US Generic, nothing more...nothing less.
If you want to use it to flash other C6506 variants (e.g. Canada, Mexico, etc...), you should be able to flash everything except the baseband and that will maintain your original baseband. Alternatively, you can flash the original baseband afterwards if the included baseband doesn't support your carrier. Just make sure you have a stock FTF of your firmware before you decide to go this route.
I was also able to successfully root it via DoomLord's latest thread. It will require the kernel from the previous C6505 10.3.A.0.423 stock firmware (C6506 ONLY). Customization doesn't matter, as long as it's for the C6506 and Android 4.2.2 so the kernels match. If not, you'll get into a bootloop.
Upon successful initial boot, it will ask you to download Data/MMS settings. Just as well, it will default to WCDMA connection type, so just go under Settings>Networks(more)>Mobile Networks>Network Mode and select LTE.
It is always HIGHLY ADVISABLE that you keep a stock FTF of your firmware before flashing any other stock FTF that changes your customization, so you can easily go back to your original customization or repair the phone in case something goes wrong. You can learn more about this here.
Dev-Host
File 1: http://d-h.st/FSs
File 2: http://d-h.st/lsJ
You'll need 7-Zip or any extractor that can handle 7Z formats.
So whats different on this compared to other stock images? Just curious

Would this work for my locked canada C6506 ?
I noticed zero differences between this and US Generic. Software is dead on identical in every way. The only reason I flashed this is because Sony hasn't released the 10.3.1.A.0.244 for the C6505 US Generic...and I, and others I'm sure, are highly impatient to wait
It should work, just make sure you have an FTF of your current stock ROM in case you need to flash the baseband from it. Like I said, I don't know for certain whether the baseband from this ROM supports the LTE bands of your carrier or not. For me, AT&T was supported the same way the US Generic did.

Absolutely. Flashing stock FTFs don't require an unlocked bootloader, only custom ROMS do. So you should be good to go.

Thanks! How is the rom so far? BTW I'm on T-Mobile USA
The update is awesome, the phone is pretty much flawless now.
BTW...Sony just released the update for the US Generic (just now)...so you might want to check for the the OTA or use PC Companion. In other words, you don't need to flash the ROM in this thread.

Urgent help for Xperia ZL (6505) 4.1
Guys - I just got a Xperia ZL (c6506) and unlocked it from Claro. The problem is that Claro has put so much of bloatware on the phone plus there is still for update on 4.1 JB.
Can I flash a stock ROM (4.3) on my current phone to get rid of the bloatware and run 4.3 ? I am still on baseband 10.1.1.A.1.253 and bootloader is locked.
I understand this is a pretty novice request but please help as I am getting confused with the multiple info being provided.
Can you give me A link of c6506 baseband or ftf that LTE supported ? Because it has dead link .
