How can i tell what charger is correct?
I mean, not all charger for the smarthphones operate at 110-220V and has 500mA to up? I though that a higher amp --> less time to charged
Pc is unable to detect it ...

Sounds kinda dangerous lol
Sent from my iPad2 using Tapatalk HD... Because I'm working on my Galaxy S3!
Not dangerous. It disables the data pins so the phone thinks it's plugged into a wall charger.

I just use a wall charger. Tmobile brand and I use the usb cable for the pc. So the paper mod is for the pc charging?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk 2
Yes, it puts it in fast charge. Probably depends on the USB port's voltage as to if it works, I'm using front panel port on my Mac pro at work.

Can someone make a video regarding this method? I maybe retarded or something. I get that disabling data can trick into fast charge. But why not just disable data (USB connection) in the settings? Wouldn't that be a same difference?
Please someone make a video to show and confirm this. I also know that amperage can make a difference in charging method. Will non-high voltage with this mod will enable it like the wall charger??

Its not just "disabling" data ports on the USB.. Its built into a kernel from source, there is no third party app that can enable this. If it simply disabled the "data" functionality of the USB then simply cutting the cable apart and cutting out the two prongs would enable this but it doesnt. It is kernel based stuff.
The kernel pretty much can tell whats plugged into it, AC Charger, USB Charger, Car charger.
When you enable fast charging you are only able to enable it for the last two options. Enabling simply tells the kernel that it is able to charge faster based off of how the kernel is coded. If you have source code for the kernel, you technically could tell it to charge at 1000mV (1 volt) but that would destroy whatever charger you are using for nothing can charge that fast (yet)
Simply put, fast charging is a kernel level mod that no third party app is capable of enabling without firstly the kernel supporting it.
I used my usb OTG cable to charge other devices from my S2. Has anyone else tried it? Harming my battery is what worries me.

Harming it? Not likely. Draining it dry? Definitely.

I am always trying to find new ways to maximize battery life, this would not be one of them.
Not sure if this a ROM, kernel, or hardware problem but lately my phone has started to discharge if I'm using it on the charger. It'll charge normally but when I start using it, it gets hot and I lose battery. I'm running the latest stable vanilla rootbox with ktoonz kernel.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
That sounds normal to me. If you're using more than you draw, you'll lose instead of gain and the battery will heat up even more.

It's just math and physics.
If you are gaining, say 1A per hour and using it at a higher rate you will necessarily lose charge instead of gaining it.
Anyone's phone will do the same, that's just how batteries work. They heat up if you're putting them through a lot of stress - like continuously putting energy into it while taking it away at the same or higher rate.
If you want to continuously use the phone, buy a set of spare batteries and rotate them in and out.

Might be your usb cable/voltage output/ whatever u use to charge ur phone. Not enough power to charge it fast enough when you are using it.

+1 on this. Try killing background processes and wait for battery to keep up with usage. Sometimes battery can't keep up with active processes..

I'll give that ROM a try, i wasn't experiencing it with the stable release of rootbox before the current one. What kernel are you using?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
i had the same issue and I just switched cables, seemed like mine had some loose wiring or something and charged hella slow. so maybe check your cable first, switch chargers and then look and see if that helps

I'd try another cable too. On stock rom I had no discharge while charging issues so there is no reason you shouldnt be able to charge normally again.
Also check the usb port on the phone. If it's dusty try blowing into it. Check that it isn't loose also.

My galaxy note 2 is almost 3 month older and I used to use my cell phone while its charging too.
After few days I realise that charging is very slow.
I have charged my phone for 10 hours to get 30% only.
What to do pls help me.

Are you using the charger that came with it?
Are you using it with a usb extension cable?
Flash any roms or kernels to it?
My phone was charging slow and it turns out the charger is bad.
I am using charger came with the box with usb cable :what::banghead:

So I have notice that charging my phone takes really long using out of box charge and cable. I had 15% when I plugged it in 3 hours ago and now that I go and get it it's just at 50% :banghead: Any ideas if this is normal or if I should contact Sprint or Samsung for a replacement?

You're probably running the stock ROM, right?
Stock ROM uses software to limit to 2A wall charger to only input 500mA to charge the battery at 5V
