Hi today found out that my note is acting strange whenever I try to charge while its on it wont let me the charging icon shows with a big red cross on it and wont charge a bit it just keeps draining. Tried while its off and it works normally , disturbs me to have to turn it off each time I want to charge it, anyone experienced this before?

are you using the stock charger. if not make sure that the aftermarket charger is a 2A charger.
Its the usb connection signal. Mine did that occasionaly too, but not lately. It should recognize its charging after a second or two

i have no issues when using stock charger and cable, I run across this with other charges and cables that are less than 2 amps though
what kind of charger are you using or cable?
Thanks for your answers guys its the stock one which makes this kinda strange.
Yes this has happened to me on a couple of occasions. Unplugging and plugging it back in solved the problem. I also discovered that not only does the charger matter, but I got different results (charging times) using the same charger but different cables. Maybe there are different guage wire used in the cables?

yes, the cable also matters to handle the extra amps, so you need both the stock charger and cable combo
My stock cable went bad somehow and I had the same problem. It wouldn't charge at all. Even overnight

After reading this thread, I went and downloaded an app called Galaxy Charging Current. I know there are a lot of battery management apps out there, but this is a really simple, basic app that tells you how many amps are flowing thro the charger and cable to your device. My device using OEM pulls 1.8A.
I'll be buying a car charger from Amazon and will use this app to determine if it performs as claimed.

Am I crazy or is my screen less responsive while charging?

Crazy
LoL
Mine seems fine....
Sent from my ADR6350 using xda premium
Well you are not suppose to use your phone much while its plugged into the charger because it can get hot. It may be less responsive because of that.
I can actually say I get the same thing. It seems to right as I disconnect it from the house charger that it becomes more responsive to taps and doesn't lag with the events. Funny bit is that I had the same issue with all 6 Droid Inc handsets I went through, so this makes me think its something to so with the stock Rom HTC/verizon puts on them.

Had the lag with inc2 when plugged in using certain chargers. If I use the factory charger then no lag.

Hmmm... I've yet to use a factory charger. I bought my 2 on craigslist and it came with a Samsung charger or something.

It depends also, I think, on whether you are charging via PC's usb port or via the official HTC wall charger (I have 3 different OEM verisons, putting out 5V at 1A) and whether it's a HTC usb cable or generic/other branding - most noticed with the device powered on when the built-in smart circuitry are sensing, whatever .....
Yulp, at times, the touchscreen seemed sluggish when it's plugged in.
So I have been looking through all of the Q & As and ive noticed many issues with phones getting stuck in certain steps while rooting, updating or other times when we are required to plug our phones into the USB Ports.
Well I had the same issue a few nights ago, literally spent all night.trying to solve it and getting help from various users here.
one solution presented to me was to use a different USB cord in my case I was using a blackberry branded USB cord which I had bought off of Ebay, I switched to an OEM Tmobile My Touch 4G Slide cable and voila! Issues solved!
I had issues rooting and updating my S2 & also an Infuse 4G
So apparently not all micro USB cables are made the same.
Sorry if this was posted in the wrong section...
Mods excuse me if it was.
In closing with any and all issues while connected to your computer try using a different USB cable preferably OEM

Its true. Some USB cables are much better than others. Especially OEM ones.
I've had the same issue before. Thanks for sharing!

The mytouch 4g cable might present issues as well.,I have one and any time I use it
My battery% gets froze at 100% until I reset it couple times or couple hours later it'll drop from 100 to 70%.

I believe that too, since ive had no issues at all with mytouch cable.
Like I said I think the only issue is the fact that some cables are not USB 2.0 so as long as you are certain that your cable is USB 2.0 youll be good

I had a really weird issue with some USB cables. Some times it wouldn't show mass storage but it would charge through the computer BUT if I slowly put the mini USB wire into the phone at an angle the mass storage would pop up. I was literally tweaking when I soft bricked my phone and the computer wouldn't recognize it in download mode. Kept trying to reinstall the drivers come to find out it was the cable the whole time.

Hi all im alil new to android mostly delt with apple but I couldnt resist this phone.
My question is my iphone 4s fully charged in like an 1-1n a half from dead
By note 2 at&t version takes 5-7 hrs to charge from dead is that normal
Also if it helps im on jedi 6.1.2 rom
I never let the battery drain out when I was stock so im unsure if its the rom
but the rom has better battery life so I doubt it
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using xda premium
The 4s has a 1432 mAh battery and the Note 2 has a 3100 mAh, it should take longer to charge if it has more than twice the capacity.
5-7 hours seems long to me, mine charges quite quickly on stock ROM. Are you charging via USB? Are you using the charger that came with the phone? It is a 2 amp charger, much higher than many generic chargers or chargers you may have lying around from old phones.
Yup Im using the one it came with I have insurance but im rooted and off stock not sure if theyll replace it only had it 3-4weeks I was aboit to order some extra batteries I just dont no if it's hardware related. Isbthe anyway to check it

My Note II has always taken exactly 2.5 hours to go from absolute dead to fully-charged. I saw someone else on this site post the same thing. If your phone is taking that long to charge, either one of two things are the culprit: either you have a defective phone/battery or you are not using the Samsung wall charger that came with the phone. I can tell you, now, that if you use anything other than that official Samsung charger, it will take 2-3 times as long to charge your device.
Not looking good for me then, I just flashed the jedi rom a few days ago
I mite try to go back to stock and see if there's a difference because from half life on stock it took less then a hr
Can go stock simply by using he past nanRoid backup if so can I then use the backup to go back to jedi ??

Yes on nandroid questions. Possible defective cable as a check vs taking phone back. Mine charges in 2.5 hours. Also just checked yesterday with charging from a generic Walmart bought dual usb car charger with the stock charging cable and it took 1 hour to go from 58% to 100.

"The one" what? The white plug that goes into the wall socket, or just the USB cable and plugging it into your computer to charge?
I ask because you weren't specific and there will be a significant difference if you're plugging into your computer via USB versus plugging into the wall with the white Samsung charger. The cable isn't particularly relevant, but the actual "plug" piece is ... it's 2mA vs the 0.5mA of most computer/laptop USB ports.
There sending me one in the mail, they said it had a lil green erosion in the charger port maybe water damage, I hope they dont try charging me full price of the phone i just got it 3-4weekss ago and its never been anywhere near water and my case protects all openings
Pray for me yall

Sry I using the stock base and stock usb cable I also tried the base and cable from my galaxy player 5.0 and the base from my galaxy tab 7 with the white usb the gn2 came with all super slow charging
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using xda premium
Hey so I just picked up my GN2 from verizon yesterday and ran the battery down to zero so it could get a full 0-100% charge but i plugged it in at around 10 PM and its 8 AM now and the battery is only on 71%. I am using stock battery and supplied charger and cable plugged into the wall.
Is this normal for it to take this long to charge or is t just because its the battery's first full charging?
Install galaxy current charge app from store.
It should show 1800
This is common issue of Note2 cable.

I've been having issues the last few days charging my Sprint Galaxy s3. When plugged in, the phone will recognized that it should be charging, but the battery will not charge. When turned off and plugged in, it charges very slowly, maybe 1 percent every half an hour. I've tried many different USB cables, but that does not seem to be the issue as the same cables charged my Nexus 7 just fine. I had the battery tested at the sprint store, and they told me that it was fine. Anybody have some insight to help me out?

Sorry for not being clear, but I meant to say I had to get my phone replaced. The sprint tech people tried fixing it but their fix only worked for a day.
