Flash the wrong CF-Root file - Galaxy Note 8.0 (Tablet) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooti

My device model is Samsung Note 8.0 Wi-Fi version(GT-N5110). I'd like to root my device but flased the wrong CF-Root file. I should flash Note 8.0's CF-Root file but did it with Galaxy S3's instead. Although I flashed again with the correct one, but now whenever I reboot my deivce, it shows the wrong model name like the attached image show the incorrect device model name.
Samsing
Galaxy SIII
GT-I9300
Is there any solution to fix it? Thanks for your prompt support and answers.
BTW, I also flashed with stock firmware but it still shows incorrect device model name after rebooting.

[Q] Questions about a rooted U.S. Cellular Galaxy Note II

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 From US Cellular.
Model: SCH-R950
Android Version: 4.1.1
Baseband: R950VXALL1
Kernel: 3.0.31 - 260061
Build: JRO03C.R950VXALL1
Hardware version: R950.06
Under status it says device status is Modified.
When I go into download mode/odin mode it says:
Product name: SCH-R950
Custom Binary Download: Yes (1 counts)
Current Binary: Custom
System Status: Custom
To root my phone I used Galaxy Note II Toolkit 3.0.0
I also used this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O6BweCW5ck8
I sent a few PM's to mskip asking "In this post you mention "NOTE: If you want your carrier added to the Toolkit then download and install, flash CWM Recovery and make a NAND Backup (changing the backup format to 'tar' first). Send me the boot.img file and I will root and add it."
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...99&postcount=1
I was wondering after I root my Note 2 how I flash CWM Recovery then make the NAND backup and then get the boot.img file?"
Also when I rooted my device I used an insecure boot image and after I rooted it I read an article saying not to do that, something about the IMEI could be gone...
What's the IMEI for anyways?
How do I check whether it's gone or not?
Do I need it?
My phone is CDMA I believe.
Anyways the main point of this thread is I'm wondering if it's possible to re-root my device somehow and have the Device status as Normal?
Is there also a way to make it so it'll check for software updates? Because right now when I click software update it just says "Your device has been modified. Software updates are not available."
So I'm thinking if I somehow got this phone rooted and the device to normal under the status and also when in download mode that it would think that it's official.
Lastly does anyone know how to fix Google Wallet, when I try to open it tells me "Not supported, unfortunately Google Wallet is not yet available for your device or mobile network"
I find it dumb my device supports NFC but yet Google Wallet no longer works... there must be a way to somehow fix this?
To whoever helps me I want to thank you very much for your help, and if you need anymore info about my phone I will give it to you so you can help better!
So yes the phone is currently rooted but I don't like that google wallet doesn't work, and I'm unsure if the IMEI is gone or not, I don't want the device status to say modified, I can't get software updates, when I go into download mode it says the binary and system status are custom..
Actually I just checked, I have an imei number when I go to status, so I guess my IMEI is not gone?
I just simply want my phone rooted, able to get software updates and somehow stay rooted, google wallet to work, device status to be normal along with when in download mode it says samsung official or whatever it's supposed to say when not rooted.
Is this possible? Thank you again.
Check out teamuscellular.com I know we aren't supposed to refer to other sites and all that other stuff but you guys don't have your own section so yea. Check that site.

[Q] Problem when I want change region for my Galaxy ace 2

Hello Everyone, I have a problem, I have a Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 from Hong-Kong (I8160ZLSK2) but I want change region, for a firmware who have "XXLL2" suffix I can't because I have this on phone reset "can't access system/csc/TGY/system" (TGY is Hong Kong region)
In properties of my phone, I have info from CSC, PDA but PHONE=UNKNOWN. (can't have call fonction, network fonction, no simcard)
Flashing by odin perfect (PASS!) with processus Kies Killed.
I test Ukraine firmware, does'nt work (I8160XXLL2_I8160OXELL2_HOME.tar.md5 from samfirmware)
I8160ZLSK2 ROOTED
Anyone can help me ? :crying:
Sorry if my english have some mistakes, I'm french :good:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2145464 This should help you
On my HK ace 2 when I try changing the region, it says completer write operation failed and on my phone it says custom modem binary. I tried flashing XXLK2 rooted.
I test this
PHONE/BASEBAND "UNKNOWN":
You flashed a wrong modem.img.md5, f.e. you can't flash i8160P/L modem on i8160.
Create a tar from phone part (modem.img.md5) extracted from roms built for your model (i8160/L/P) and flash just the phone.tar with odin.
Or write modem.bin.md5 (not the tar!) directly to modem/phone partition using terminal/adb (requires rooted phone):
If doesn't solves the problem flash a rom made for your model!
Code:
su
dd if=/sdcard/external_sd/modem.bin.md5 of=/dev/block/mmcbk0p13
reboot
Click to collapse
But don't work, on reboot, always PHONE: UNKNOWN
I will return of I8160ZLSK2 rooted :crying:
PS: I have to do WIPE DATA/FACTORY RESET after flash with I8160XXLL2 ? (because I never did that)
So, what do you think ?

Tmobile Note II thinks its an ATT - Bricked?

Hello everyone, so long story short I accidentally flashed my Tmobile Note II SGH T889 with the ATT rom (I317UCALJ2_I317ATTALJ2_ATT.zip) while trying to go back to stock. Now in download mode my phone reads as if it's an ATT model, I'm not even sure how an ATT firmware flash passed on odin. Phone wont boot and I cannot access recovery mode as it just spits " Firmware upgrade encountered an issue." I cant upload a pic due to external links, but the phone says "Product Name: SGH-I317" when in download mode, or are as my phone reads "ODIN MODE".
I've tried flashing every version of the stock Tmobile roms via odin 3.12 and all of them fail at the very end. I don't know what to do anymore. Any insight into this is much appreciated, thank you!
Update: I managed to flash TWRP through odin, but flashing stock MD7 through custom recovery still lands me in a bootloop.
Was the phone purchased new or used? Do you recall see the T889 model # in download mode before flashing?
It was given to me used by a family member. It was in functioning condition but running very buggy so I wanted to flash stock and go from there. I do not recall seeing the SGH-T889 model # in download beforehand as I really wasn't expecting to make such a foolish mistake. The phone is unquestionably an SGH-T889 though, confirmed by the back cover and the IMEI sticker behind the battery.
The only way to really confirm that the phone is a T-Mobile note 2 would have been to boot int download mode. Since the att firmware flashed in Odin with no errors, I'm inclined to believe that the phone motherboard was actually from an att note. I have never seen Odin allow such cross flashing.
Maybe open the phone and examine the motherboard to confirm model number?
I could open the phone and search for the model number on the mobo, but why on earth would the back sticker read as an SGH-T889? This is a funky situation.
It could be a frankenphone. The motherboard from a t889 will fit in a i317 amd i317m and vice versa.

Samsung Galaxy S7. Bungled firmware. Can't find an exact match to download

Sorry for the simple question. This is rather new to me. Stats: Samsung Galaxy S7 SM-G930FXX. (Global unlocked). The firmware on the phone is listed as G930FXXS5ESEA. Now, recently I made the mistake of allowing an update. That update completed but on reboot the phone reported an error in the firmware. The phone still booted, but no keyboard was available. I guess it didn't fully load. I am now looking to reflash the firmware but cannot find a datafile with that exact name. The phone country is Germany according to the IMEI. Q: Is it true I can use any G930F firmware? I've search for this firmware for hours but to no success.

SM-N976B rooting on Android 11?

Hi All,
I've got a Note 10+ 5G and was wondering how would one go about rooting this device on the latest Samsung firmware
N976BXXU6FUBDThe guides that I have seen such as Dr.Ketans thread, instruct to flash a boot loader image that on his media fire page. does not match the firmware I'm running.
As I wouldn't want to flash anything that would break the phone, I'm wondering if someone can give me a method on how to root the stock rom.
thanks
did you find a solution? I manage to root the same model as yours tricking the lz4 files which is the new type of extension in Android and for this you can not root in a normal way. I followed this guide
Fix Oreo Firmware Installation Issue in Odin for Samsung Devices - DroidViews
Android Oreo has finally made its way to Samsung's latest S series flagships, the Galaxy S8 and S8+. The Oreo update brings with it the usual Android Oreo features such as Picture-in-Picture, redesigned Settings app, etc. It also brings with it Samsung Experience 9.0 which is but a fancier name…
www.droidviews.com
After having the 4 stock files modified without lz4 you must flash them with Odin.
After you take the modified AP file and patch it with Magisk.
Then you flash again stock using the patched AP file and the rest of modified files but you must not select autoreboot in Odin. When the flashing is done you must exit download mode and imediatelly enter in Recovery mod but better use this guide
