I've got a quite big problem...
I don't know exactly when, but I suspect after I replaced my broken digitizer by a new one, that my proximity sensor broke. At first it was only broken partly, and I could still answer calls if someone called me, BUT now I can't.
I've recently (yesterday ) installed MIUI-Xj on my desire, and when I dialled *#*#MIUI#*#*, there was a test for all the hardware. I thought, let's have some fun, and run this test. All went ok till the proximity sensor test. It showed a status of 1.00 (0.00 being lowest, when the sensor should be covered), and didn't change when I covered it, nor when I moved it next to a lamp. After I googled around a bit, I thought there might be some dust in/in front of the proximity sensor, so I opened up my desire, and vacuüm cleaned it. After this, I ran the same test again, and it returned 0.00!
This is really annoying, because when I get a call, the phone assumes I'm holding my phone against my ear, so the screen goes black. This way, I can't answer the call! Pressing the buttons doesn't work either
Is there some sort of way I can get my sensor to work again? or can I buy a replacement somewhere?

yeah mate, sent it back to HTC, they repair it
off cource yif you -off you need to flash downgrader and run appropriate RUU 2.2froyo to return S-ON
and sent your phone to repair center with full desciprion of your problem
I don't think they'll repair it, at least not for free... (replaced the digitizer myself, and they probably notice )
So I'm thinking of buying a camera PCB off ebay, so I can place it myself (like I did with the digitizer). Just mailed them to ask if the proximity sensor is on it, because it was the flex cable and camera pcb...

Hi, I replaced my motherboard because I had a blue screen at startup.
I bought a reconditioned motherboard (sold by a professional as in perfect working condition) but when I mounted it (without difficulty) I see that I no longer have a response from the proximity sensor and gesture, where does the problem come from?
Was the card defective, or was it wrong to remount the card?
Where are these sensors ? on the card or elsewhere in the phone? Can we change these sensors?

After test I lost Motion Accel and Gyroscope sensors also... What can I do ?

Same problem here. Can anyone help? I tried 2 different stock roms (4.4.2 and 6.0.1) and LOS 16.0. I couldn't get the sensors working.

I open my m8 and replaced the battery with a new one then the problem start :
the compass sensor is not working anymore
I try everything about software but it's 100% a hardware problem... I think I broke the sensor or heat it up or something
my magnetic sensor is working fine
and my rotate screen is working fine
but compass sensor is no action and not working
please if someone now where is the part on the motherboard just to check it and find out what is the problem because I don't know where is the area to check or which part is the compass sensor
if someone have a picture or diagram I will be thankful
there is no one knows where to find it??? !!!

but my magnetic sensor is working good and my flip cover (the dot view) is working fine
i think there is something unplugged maybe wire or connector if someone give me a suggestion

after my motherboard died on EMMC failure I bought a used Note II with broken display and exchanged motherboard. It is working except accelerometer, gyroskope and compass. Testing sensor on sensor test page with *#0*# they do not work.
Factory reset did not help.
Firmware flash with Odin and wiping neither.
I assume hardware defect on the motherboard.
Any other suggestions what to check?
