Hey I've searched the no tripping thread and I have not found any help on rooting my 4.1.2 S3. Can anyone point me to the direction of such method? Thank you
I used CF-Root.

what is the tried a true way of doing the 4.1.2 version?
I've used the CASUAL method a few times, and CF Root as well.
Both work fine.

I've been rooted since I got the phone with ICS. I just update bootloaders and modems etc.
I have heard good things from a lot of people with great success who have used CF Root.

Anyway to answer OP question, you root with the same method....regardless of your update. I did however hear that you might need a newer version of su.
Not su 3.0.5 but some other version....don't know where to get it either but maybe someone can help you from here. In summary.....SAME METHOD DIFFERENT SUPERUSER FILE VERSION.

Oh god, please please please read the rules. I'm so sorry for what is about to happen to you. Please read the rules and next time post stuff like this in the q and a section.
And the answer to your question is no. You go into download mode for Odin.

Sorry, you're in the wrong forum, and you also need to read the one-click root thread before posting. If you still don't get it after reading, pm me.
Wow, thought you had to have at least 10 posts to put dumb questions in the dev section. Sorry I had to

There is a method called cf auto root....could anyone help me understand that pleaseeeee
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
No
Flashing kernel won't work on note 2
In note1 and other device there is recovery binded to kernel so it was possible, here recovery have separate partition.
Read post#2 of thread linked to first line of my signature.

Nothing more
Flash cf auto root and flash with Odin for pda tab. And done.
Though you need to reset counter if you want to keep device ready to claim warranty.

Hi there, thanks for the help. I tried it and it failed. I also tried mskip's note2 all in one toolkit. It would only work on android v4.1.1, I have the latest ota for v4.1.2. I was going to look at devs thread to see if anyone else has had this same problem. Thanks again.
