HI I ave been trying to root my phone with odin and the toolkit and cf-autoroot, the cf auto root reported success but I still do not ave root acces for titanium backup. Odin does not work doe not matter what version I use,I have installed the drivers and you can see the installation and it goes into boot mode but stalls at "Getting PIT or Mapping then fails. I have switched usb ports changed usb cords enabled usb connection through developer options and removed samsung KIes.I just am out of options and don't know where to turn to get root access on this phone. Any other suggestions?
heres the info
android 4.1.2
Model SGH i747M
baseband version 1747mvldmf1
Kernel version 3.0.31-1189444-user
Build number jz054ki747mvldmf1
I have tried using windows 2000 pro as I have dual boot on this laptop and cannot get the drivers to load, also tried compatibilty mode in xp and all the updates are installed
here is the odin screen:
Does anyone out there have an explanation. Please?
I am running Windows xp with all the updates, the drivers are installed, both of them, when I run Odin on this galaxy s3 jb 4.1.2, I get to the same point in Odin, it stops at mapping pit, and I don't have the time or experience to find a solution, developer USB access is checked, can anyone offer up another solution. I am also running a memory card of about 30 gig. Only thing I have done all update ota.
Thanks

Hi guys. Im a noob, first post here and need some help. Be searching all day for how to load a stock rom to my device GT-N5110.
Heres the low down.
Purchased in Australia. No samsung updates applied.
Successfully rooted with framaroot. Was running framaroot for more than a month
Install busy box today in normal mode I think. I chose the safe option.
Edited build.prop product model so I could install Navigon
Navigon working fine
Now..........
Unable to change the product name back using es explorer or file expert.
Thought it would change after restart but device entered bootloop. I think busybox was the culprit. Should have looked up what its all about.
Discovered recovery mode and did factory data reset. Can access odin screen on device too.
Device boots but hangs on language selection screen
I have found and downloaded stock rom for it that I found here somehow
I tried "Mrjraider" tutorial "how to flash back to a stock rom"
but odin crashes whenever I load the rom file and it wont recognize my GN8.0
Computer runs on windows 8. Kies is up to date too. Kies reconizes device but is unable to update or anything
Was running odin 4.43 with AriesVE.ops in compatabillity win xp sp3 with administrator .
can try on a win7 computer tomorrow.
This is the name of the file its about 1.2 Gb....... N5110UEDMD1_N5110XARDMD1_HOME.tar.md5 do I need to rename this or something
There was also a .dll that was in the package, whats with that?????
be looking through this forum all day and night and cant quite find what im looking for. If what I seek is here please point me to it. Or if any one here in Brisbane, can fix it for me,What are your thoghts? PM me.
Just want my baby back working again.
when it comes to phones, Kies and Odin never play nice together, so it may be the same with these things..
get kies completely off your computer, and your tablet, reboot, and try Odin again...also try a different cable and a different USB port if at first it doesnt work properly..
will give it a bash. cheers
Background:
I had my Galaxy S3 rooted on 4.0.4 ICS with no problems for several months, however when I wanted to upgrade to 4.1 Jellybean via OTA I quickly learned that the OTA update won't work on a rooted OS. I installed an called Voodoo OTA which claimed to be able to temporarily unroot you device so you can get the OTA Jellybean update. It failed, did not accomplish what it claimed to be able to do, however what it did do was patially unroot my phone to a state that it can neither be unrooted fully or re-rooted back to a full rooted state. I did a full clean wipe and factory reset and I am still in the same position. I have used the Android Toolkit for S3 to flash it back to factory state it just hangs in ODIN at the boot.img, I have attempted to root and un-root with the Android Toolkit multiple methods and .tar files, nothing, just hangs when it gets to the imaging part.
The phone is fully functional, but I feel imprisoned by the phone now as it operates like an unrooted phone, but I can't upgrade it.
Can anyone help me out of this, even to just get back to a rooted phone.
Thank you to anyone and everyone for your advice!
I will donate to any developer that can get my phone back to working order!

I am desperate at this point , I have spent 2 almost 3 days trying to get my phone back to stock or rooted state. I have scoured Google, XDA and other Android phones. If anyone wants to volunteer and help me on or offline I will gladly donate generously.
I'd recommend forgetting about that tool kit for now. You should download the latest version of Odin v3.07, twrp recovery (tar file), and supersu.zip, and try doing everything manually; flash twrp through PDA from Odin, and supersu.zip through Twrp recovery if you get that far. The files are easy to find, so I'm not going to post links just yet.

I did what you said, but only after I figured out that I was using the wrong driver, correct device, wrong model. I used a USB driver cleaner, cleaned them all off, wiped the device, installed the driver and reconnected then I followed your instructions!:good:
I found these instructions on the AT&T Samsung forum for how to clean your drivers:

Here's what worked for me after literally trying everything under the sun (compiled steps from various sources):
Steps to Safely Cleanup and Remove old USB Mass Storage Drivers on your PC
Shut down your computer. Unplug your USB storage devices: USB Disks, flash, cams, CD/DVD, etc.
==> Other USB devices like keyboards, mice and LAN adapters can stay plugged in
Boot computer back up. Click for how to determine whether you are running 32 or 64 bit Windows
Download drivecleanup.zip, unzip and save to your desktop. Move the 32 or 64 bit version of DriveCleanup.exe toC:\Windows\System32
Open a command prompt window as follows:
==> For XP only: You must have Admin privileges. Click Start->Run, enter cmd
==> For Vista and Windows 7: You must open an elevated command prompt window!
After the command prompt enter: drivecleanup.exe
==> Your command prompt window should be similar to my example below.
==> If, instead, you get an error message like Command not recognized it means you didn't move Drivecleanup.exe to the right directory
Reboot.
Download the latest USB drivers here:http://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/SGH-I747MBBATT Click the tab at the bottom that says "Manuals & Downloads" then Software then the link for the Device(Install),USB Driver (Software) (ver.v1.5.14.0)
Intstall Drivers
Reboot
Unplugged or disable your internet connection ***CRITICAL***
On your S3 go to Settings>About device>Check for updates and install the update (eventhough we next do a hard reset the new firmware is worth it if only for the brightness feature added to the notification drop down).
Do a hard reset on your Galaxy S3 instructions for that here: http://www.hard-reset.com/samsung-galaxy-s3-hard-reset.html
Turn on S3 (without USB plugged in) and don't login to your Android account ***CRITICAL***
Plug in USB and it should install all the drivers at long last ***SIGH***
Login to your Android account with the USB plugged in and you should be good to go!
Thanks again for helping me out!

Hello...
I just got my Samsung Galxy S4 Tmobile SGH-M919 from a first user. Later, i found out the Wifi and BT would not work but as i have experienced/read on some threads, that might be issue of Kernel so i am not worried.
Now, i will like to root my device. I got every files downloaded and ready but ODIN WOULD NOT CONNECT TO MY DEVICE!!!
First of All.. My device details
- Device - SGH M919
- OS - KK 4.4.2 (STOCK)
- Bootloader - M919UVUNB4
Now, before i start getting replies... Here are what i have tried.
-(DEVICE DEBUGGING FIXED SET)
-(PC ADB & FASTBOOT READY)
1. Of course, i have USB Drivers installed... I uninstalled and Re-Installed - Same!
2. I installed Latest Kies ... Same!!!
3. I read on one thread about Kies3 working for FW 4.3. I got Kies3.... Installed.... Same!!!
4. I tried several ODIN Versions 3.07, 3.09, 1.85, 3.10 ... Same!!!
5. I watched in a Youtube Video to remove battery while in Download Mode and Connected to PC... Same!!!
The only step i havnt is TO FORMAT (WIPE & RELOAD WINDOWS) my PC as that would not be a welcomed option. I have tonnes of files i dont wanna loose.
Anyone with another means to get My Device Rooted and CWM/TWRP Installed...
I would really appreciate.
Thanks !
SLOVED!!!!
The Problem was the USB DRIVER. Later found the right USB Driver. Now Connected on ODIN.
Thanks for viewing....
Hello...
First, the environment: P600 32GB US version. Running Windows 8.1 on my laptop, SDK installed fine. ADB drivers working with no problem.
Here's the problem: I was running the stock ROM with root for a very long time, but I decided to try the unofficial port of Cyanogenmod 12. It installed just fine, but in the process it whacked my TWRP installation on the tablet. When I rooted the tablet I had been running Windows 7 and the Samsung drivers worked without any issues, both ADB and Fastboot.
No matter what I try now, I can't get the Fastboot driver to load - the tablet is recognized as a Samsung USB composite device, but Fastboot does not see it and whenever I try to change to most any other driver, the install succeeds but the device can't start (the dreaded Code 10).
Of course, the stock recovery won't let me load anything that isn't signed by Samsung, and I can't find a stock signed image anywhere, so I can't even get back to the stock ROM. And Windows 8.1 on multiple machines seems to be working the same way, so unless I can get the right driver installed and working I can't flash anything from my laptop. Mobile ODIN doesn't support the tablet, Goo.IM Manager installed, but it apparently does not recognize the tablet either, so I can't flash anything on the tablet side, either.
Does anyone have any ideas on how I can get this to work short of throwing up a Windows 7 VM and trying that?
-Dave
Have you tried installing Kies and using the drivers it provides? Or if you already had Kies installed, going to Tools > Reinstall device driver?
Different USB cable?

Thanks. I tried Kies and three different cables as well. Nothing doing. I think because the Knox counter was tripped Kies connects to the tablet and then says it is unsupported and disconnects. ADB driver works fine independently, but when running Kies it does the same thing - connects, recognizes the tablet as a P600 but then disconnects because it is unsupported.
Because of the Knox thing I am pretty sure Samsung will charge me an unspeakable amount to reflash this thing, so I would love to find my own solution.

I doubt this is the issue, the Knox counter has been tripped on my P600 since a week after I got it, and I've taken every firmware update via Kies.
Does it give you this message only when the device is in download mode, or do you get it with the tablet powered up normally?
AFAIK Kies won't recognize your tablet unless it's been started normally with Android running, and if it's still got anything other than a stock ROM on it, that message isn't surprising.
I'm also running Windows 8.1 on both my laptop and desktop and have never had any connection issues
If all you want is TWRP back, have you tried Flashify?

I've been pretty much throwing anything at the problem - I did try Flashify, and it tells me that it does not recognize the device. The tablet boots, it runs fine (no weirdness), I have root but no ability to flash anything.
As far as Kies goes, even when running normally (meaning not in download) Kies tells me the device is unsupported.
My goal is to be able to get to something so I can flash stock in case I decide to sell the tablet. I love it, but it already feels like an orphan and not because of my screwing things up. Kinda feels like Samsung abandoned it not long after release in favor of the Tab Pro line. Just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Is my Galaxy TabPro10.1wifi completely locked, or am I doing something wrong?
I can't install any custom recovery and I can't root the device:
(I put cyanogenmod on my Nexus 7 2013, and that was a breeze, but this
is making me pull my hair out)
I just bought a Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 SM-T520 from BestBuy last week.
It is wifi only (not a phone)
Android: 4.4.2
Kernel: 3.4.39-3336840
Build: KOT49H.T520UEUANK1
In everything that I have tried, Odin starts "initialization"
and just gets stuck there forever. On the tablet, I never see a bar
indicating any download starting, or progress meter.
I have tried looking through lots of threads and Google searches, but
I can't figure out how to get either a custom recovery or root.
It boots into and runs its stock (Samsung) Android OS fine.
I have turned on developer mode, and permitted USB debugging.
I'm using Windows 7 Professional 64 bit.
I have turned off MS Security Essentials and User Account Control.
Each time I run as administrator for Odin, or Heimdall, as well, for good measure.
I start up "download mode", and the TabPro says "Downloading..."
I connect the USB cable and Odin recognizes the device.
I tried to install TWRP using Odin with all the combinations:
I tried Odin 3.04, 3.07, 3.09, 3.10, 3.10.6
I tried TWRP 2.7.0, 2.8.0, 2.8.1.2, 2.8.6
I tried to root it with chainfire CF-Auto-Root with Odin 3.07 and 3.09
(download.chainfire.eu/392/CF-Root1/CF-Auto-Root-picassowifi-picassowifixx-smt520.zip)
Towelroot does not support this device.
I tried Heimdall for clockworkmod recovery and that didn't work either.
Thanks in advance - I would really appreciate any help.

Yes, I first tried the Samsung drivers and then even installed Kies v3.
When I tried Heimdall, I loaded the WinUSB from zadig, but when I went back to Odin, I re-installed the Samsung drivers, and rebooted.
No luck with Samsung, Kies, or Hiemdall/zadig

ok so I think this s just that most of the stuff you are trying to flash in ODIN has not been updated to work with the NK1 build. I ran into this a bunch when i first got my 12.2 tab pro last week. It turned out the file i was trying to flash was just no longer compatible with the build I was using. One file actually softbricked the device. What are you trying to run? Do you have the tab rooted? If it is the 12.2 I can walk you through what i had do to to get it work work.
