My battery life is getting real poor.
I charge it every night and top it up at east twice every day at work.
I do use it a lot, and sync everything and have Google now running. I like all the features though.
I am rooted running 4.2.2 jelly beer ROM. I don't think its the ROM as it seems about the same as the other 4.2.2 ROMs I've had.
This mornings drive to work I streamed 20 mins of music from Google play via 3g and I was down to 68% when I got to work?! This seems a bit excessive to me!
Is there any app where I can test the battery or something?
Battery is a year old. Last battery used to turn the phone off when using camera flash. This one hasn't had this problem though.
Any help appreciated

Seems like when I charge it too, it jumps from 70% or so straight to 100%? Strange...

Your statement here is proof that your battery is at the end of its life. Any battery has a finite life, and I have found that if you buy a cheap li-ion battery it won't last long time.
I bought 2 cheap li-ion batteries for my HTC legend and they only lasted 6 months each before experiencing exactly the same issue you have.
So I can only assume your "new battery" was a cheap too.
Usually the heavier the battery the better it will be.

Second battery was also an official HTC battery. I did get it from eBay though so its possible it could be fake? It looked the same and serial nos all matched etc...
I'm thinking about changing phones pretty soon but I'll need a spare phone so maybe I'll eBay another one.
In fairness I have hammered this phone. The amount of use it gets is immense!

I'd go through Amazon if I were you, they seem to be the most legit. Or buy a reputable extended battery there's also a thread somewhere here with a mod that utilises the battery from the Sensation if you're comforable dabbling with some hardware hacks
"Two types of people: Those who buy iPhones; and those who are intelligent. I'm intelligent."
- Guy
Got one from eBay for 5.60. Said original, looks legit and world of difference.
Hopefully be OK!
I'm planning a note 2 in a few weeks but I need this fully functional for when I go out for a few beers. Lol.

If a Chinese extended battery swells a little in the middle but works fine should I be considered about the battery burning up
Sent from my PC36100 using xda premium
If a battery is swelling, you should be very concerned, and stop using it immediately. It could explode at any time and the acid inside could seriously burn you or others.
K thanks

Even if it doesn't explode, it could crack and cook your phone. Dispose asap!

The best one would probably be a stock one made by htc.
I used a generic branded 3500mAh battery bought on Amazon.com from a seller called Quickshippers. It works out wonderful and is only a fraction of the cost of the expensive Seidio ones.
The only reason I went back to stock is because I'm getting fantastic battery life with evodeck. And I'm usually just plugged in and charging while at work. I missed the sheer thinness of the stock battery.
How long does a extended battery take to fully charge
Sent from my PC36100 using xda premium
3500 BATTERY takes about 6 to 8 hours to charge. But if u dont use an SBC kernel, it will never fully charge.
I am trying this new kernel release from HTC now, and it looks promising, but only on second day. Too early to see if it actually fully charges 3500s

did I help? hit that lil thanks button then
Seidio Slim
The Seidio Slim battery is slightly better according to some reviews I have read, but then again I don't believe I have read enough of them to lead me to believe that is better than just buying the Stock from HTC which is more durable. Just a thought not a proven fact.
is this normal running alterom v 1.0.0 with underworld sbc kernel.concerned about battery maybe my battery is bad have 3500 mah battery

Most indeededly. The 3600mAh battery lasts far longer than the standard
I've heard about this battery before. There're kinda some same products from other brands, but painfully what you have to sacrifice is the look and the thickness.
I have the 3600 mha battery and yes it will last a long time but it adds probably around 50% thickness to the phone. Basically take the gamepad portion of the phone and add that to the phone and that's how thick it is
Sent from my R800x using xda premium
I actually kind of like the thickness of the battery. In my opinion, it makes the phone have better grip while playing games.

I think I'll buy one mugen battery too. What are you thinking about the phone with it?
Did you played some game? Do you think that the new thickness make the phone hard to hold while playing too?
I've got a SGS2 and a Sensation and had an N1 all with 3600mah Mugen batteries and I couldn't live without them. They are brilliant. At least double the life of the standard ones. However the covers are usually dreadful, the only exception being the SGS2 one, which is creaky but looks OK and doesn't fatten the device up to much. The extra girth as others have pointed out, do help with grip, but the Sensation cover especially was awful and I ended getting 4 replacements sent (which in fairness Mugen supplied for free).

I first of all charged it to 100% and unplugged it at 1100hrs its now 1330 hrs and ive only lost 15% and i have been doing nothing that whole time but activly using the phone. Internet email and loads of emulation. Ive acually been play snesoid for about 98% of the time. I love tthe added thickness because it feels like a gaming device.
One thing i hated about the xperia play was holding the gamepad it felt thin.

U can use one of these chinese batteries. Currently i'm using one 3000 mah for about 10 euros. After 4-5 months it started to keep less charge (about 2 days heavy use, 4 days in the begining for comparison). But it is ok for me - 10 euros for half a year
Yoobao or momax also not bad, require no backdoor.. capacity 1500..normal is 1300mah

I bought my 2 China battery and one wall charger at 8.99 USD..it only last like 8 month,1 die on 30minute display on (my display is like 1/10 of the brightness),the other in an hour.. =\
Edit:so I think it's better to go for quality stuff rather than quantity..

Anker 1600 mAh battery. Got it off Amazon a couple of days ago after reading through that thread in the accessories section. Lasts longer through the day than the original.
Hi guys, I have a weird problem, I am using insertion by siulmagic, latest version, before that I installed blackout ROM, since installing that I put my phone to charge at around 40-50% and keep it overnight, when I wake up in morning charging light is still red, I charge it by turning phone off, I don't think it's battery problem, because when I charge it while phone is on, it charges normally, I don't want to keep phone on all night, please advise, I wiped and re-installed ROM, I calibrated battery, but it didn't help
There's no substitute for a good battery. The cheap Chinese batteries won't last as long and they're probably lying about the capacity.

On heavy usage I charge once in the morning once at night.
I use my phone a LOT. Everyday, I end up charging it from around 30% to fully charged about two or three times a day.
How is this going to affect the life of my battery? How long should I expect my battery to last at this rate? I've never given it much thought before, as I've always had a removable battery, making replacement cheap and easy, but the LGOG just has to be different...
Dude stop being so OCD. A battery is good for about 2 years and by then who cares if the battery goes bad.
