So after posting this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2399983
I decided a few days later to see what would happen if I added data roaming into the equation. I checked my sprint account and it showed ~380MB roaming data (12MB on sprint lol). Clearly not enough
I found myself a nice 1GB test file to download and was able to get it 3x the first night and 2x last night.
Woke up and go this text:
SprintFreeMsg: Please watch your mail for an important account notice. If your address has changed blah blah blah
I looked at my sprint account to see how much my roaming has went up and saw a much nicer 6.5GB! Not bad for 2 days of work!
I'm HOPING this is them parting ways with me, and I can finally go GSM (Nexus 4 probably).
Has anyone who has been terminated confirm this is the final straw or what?! :victory:
If they don't ETF you, I mean one thing is for certain, you're outta here!
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Well I know for a fact they can't ETF you if they are the one terminating the contract.
I honestly wouldn't even be in such a rush to get off Sprint but I cracked my screen and don't want to spend the $$ when I was planning on leaving Sprint when my contract is up in March 2014 anyway... sooner the better though lol

Well, if you broke whatever terms are in their contract and they terminate it, yeah they can charge you an ETF.

They are sneaky though, said I had completely free roaming, didn't tell me if I went over X amount they would terminate me. I'm sure it was somewhere in that stack of papers.

That sucks. But, this would make you the first and only person i've ever heard of being charged an ETF when sprint ended the contract and not you. Maybe you caught the roaming department on a bad day or something.

Yeah just read that as well... kinda sucks because I use bill to Account to test the phones without having to wait a month and a half to receive a refund. Sprint current policy is refund process within 10 days of receiving phone 21 business days to cut check and 14 business days for check to arrive. Had this happen to me with the nexus s... so I will not buy a phone without recommendations from you guys for now on...lol...
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
I can understand for new accounts but if you have been with Sprint for years this should still be an option.
It is until Oct 5th then no more at all.

All this change means that I will be rolling with my sammy for almost two years... I better see like 3 software upgrades!
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA App
I actually am surprised they went this long and still allowed billing to the account.
I'll bet they get stiffed quite a bit by people ordering phones, then never paying the invoice.
If it helps Sprint keep money in their pocket, and in turn helps to keep unlimited data indefinitely, go right ahead and take that away to. Better that, then to have to pay extra for what we already have.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
I again don't understand why long time customers can't still do this.
Obviously if you'be been with Sprint for 5 years or more you're extremely unlikely to do something like that.

So...if the other networks jumped off a bridge, Sprint would too?
Sprint is slowly turning into Verizon....except with slower data and ****tier CS.
There's been alot of fraud going around lately on our end, especially with world phones like the photon. Changes to bill to account should come as no surprise ...
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
So if your like me and are/were constantly checking your data usage... don't worry b/c there is a trick to getting unlimited data! Its a very simple procedure if it works...
1st call vzw customer svc, then when the computer csr asks you what you want to do say "add a feature"
2nd it will direct you to a live agent then simply say you would like to add the "30$ Mobile hot spot feature"
this feature is for unlimited data plans so if you can get the CSR to add the feature your data plan will change to a unlimited plan! No joke I did this 2 days ago. And yes you will need to remove the 30$ mobile hot spot from your plan, and yes your new data plan will stay activated.
And remember if at first you don't succeed with the first CSR agent... try and try again, I got it on my second call in.
Good luck

Thanks gonna try this later.

They have the right to change it any time they want. Unless you signed a contract that specifically gives you the right to unlimited data on their network they can remove the unlimited data feature, especially considering you tricked their system to get it.

No, it is not. Although they reserve the right to refuse service to anyone they want (whether that be now, or at the end of the contract period).

It's not the CSR's fault. They're only adding the WiFi Hotspot feature as they're supposed to do.
You're removing the hotspot feature later on your own without the CSR's involvement.

2.5 hours to get the wifes at best buy. The worker did everything rite but only could make calls. He seen problems and called att. Got the run around from 4 people and tried 3 sims cards. Finally what went down was a better att rep on phone realized that att itself changed my wife's plan from grandfather unlimited to 3gig limited and tried saying it was always that plan. Well its fixed and still grandfathered in. Best buys paper work had everything rite on it. Att just was trying to kick my wife's plan out and force a diff plan.
But $63 got her the phone.

Their "beast" system crashed , globally, while I was in there and was shut down for about 3 hours until the guy called att on his personal phone and did it that way, had to hand write my contract.
The beast system is their in-store upgrader which communicates with all major carriers but now I'm home playing with the phone it's a downgrade from the one I previously owned, the screen has a blue/ purpleish haze at the bottom of the screen.
I'm not happy at all with this one. I do plan on writing an email to best buy about their terrible service and considering the iPhone 5.
So much for saving $150..
Also after initially waiting in line for 40 minutes they told me I had no upgrade amid made me go to a att store close by and verified that I did then came back and waited another 3 hours till they figured this mess out

Agh, that sounds ROUGH!
I've herd BB called worst buy a bunch of times already. And your experience puts it into perspective.
I ordered a blue ATT 16GB from their website for a line on my family account that wasn't on a 2 year.
You woud have got the upper hand on price cause I payed $58.53. But you had a long wait in line.. And they gave you problems.
What you experienced is why I avoid Black friday, and only go to the store if Absolutely necessary.
I must say, calling ATT or Best buy on a Sunday is the worst way to spend your day.
I wanted to verify with ATT that they knew what was going on, and to make the note on my account
And Just wanted to make sure that Best buy wasn't going to pre-activate the line, or send a text to the phone number. (its a gift)
So i was reading about the kies 4.1.1 jb update and I noticed all the diferentes in the camera filters.
No this current phone does not have those extra options where as the old s3 I had bought and returned a few months ago, and did have the extra options.
What gives??

Honestly, T-Mobile always sells phones a bit more expensive then they actually retail for.
If I had seriously wanted the S4 I'd root my S3 that's in flawless condition with a Balistick SG Maxx case, have it prerooted stock 4.1.2 and sell it for 350$. Then go on eBay turn around and buy the international unlocked version of the S4 for like 250$ more. It's more expensive out right, but much cheaper in the long run.
Been on my mother's T-Mobile phone line since I was a kid and had a Motorola RAZR v3. So more than 12 years for sure when she started using T-Mobile. Somewhere in 1999 I fink.

How long did it take after the warning for you to be fully terminated? I'm getting excited lol I got mine for voice roaming not data if it matters
I seriously hate carriers who do stuff like this.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 4
Took a few months for me. Letter just popped up in the mail giving me 60 days to port my number. I had a family plan, only one line was roaming, but I was able to move every line without penalty.
So if I have 2 numbers would both be cancelled? The letter only mentioned mine
Good way to get out of a fixed contract, wish my carrier terminated my 2 year contract, I'm stuck with poor service an data speeds with my current provider for another 6 months until it ends.
I left Sprint in the 14 day trial period before they got the chance to do this to me... I was on Verizon half the time anyway so I just went back to Verizon.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Wow I'm confused, how are you getting terminated for voice roaming? Why wouldn't they just charge you for it? Never had Sprint before.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
Last month I had 7 gigs, the month before that I had 8 gigs and right now I have 4 gigs.
Sprint hasn't sent me a love letter yet. Maybe they don't care anymore.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
I got terminated for the same thing a few years ago, then a week ago, I got a call from a collection agency saying I owed sprint money because I canceled early even though they canceled me lol
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
My understanding was they DO charge a $350 ETF even though they canceled the contract.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Not that I've ever heard. Reading the threads here there is not ETF since you're not the one terminating it willingly
I believe they dont terminate you with a warning letter. You get a letter saying you violated the contract and they give you 30 or 60 days to switch. I also think they allow you to port that number. Other accounts on the line are still active just that number gets terminated. Idk if you keep the device though.
