I have a rooted galaxy s4, and I use Nova launcher pro. I have a theme that I really like, and when I go set my wallpaper, I can choose wallpapers from my themes. The theme I use is by Kovdev, all his work is awesome.
However, that's only the homescreen, I cannot for the life of me find a way to set a wallpaper that comes with a theme as my lockscreen. I know there must be something easy that I'm just missing
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks
Go to settings, my device, display, then wallpaper and you should be good to go bro

because usually the wallpaper you see in theme screenshots dont come with the theme. they are the authors personal wallpapers. there are exceptions, but not many
No.. What I'm saying is the theme comes with those wallpapers, when I just change the homescreen by long pressing and hitting wallpaper, I can choose from the theme. But I have no option for the lockscreen when I do that

Change wall paper on lock screen is the default TW launcher option.
you can do it from the stock launcher (don't know if wallpaper from Nova launcher will show up or not). If that's the case just save the wall paper to your gallery and chose from there. After you're done you can set Nova as default launcher again.
Use a root explorer and find the theme .apk in /data/app. Copy and paste the .apk somewhere else on your phone, unzip the .apk, find the folder the houses the wallpaper and pull out the wallpaper you want

I am wondering how to get "simple text" the program to work with Star Burst 1.9 i read the instructuons on the market but I can't find the launcher specific icon change option in star burst can't some one enlighten me please?
You need to use a custom launcher such as go launcher or adw to use that app, won't work with touchwiz launcher.
Personally I like go launcher the best.

Hi,
I'm using the original touchwiz lockscreen with the lightflare effect, but for my launcher I'm using nova launcher. For nova I can easily use a theme to change the look, but I also want to use the shortcuts on the lockscreen. These however only use the stock icons, and I would like these to match my launcher theme.
Is there ny way to use custom icons for these shourtcuts?
Thanks.

You would have to be rooted and then change the look of the actual system icon.

My phone is rooted, but I have no idea where to find the icons touch wiz is using to create the shortcuts. Perhaps someone knows the folder I have to check?

Long press empty space on display, pick wallpaper on lower left, it shows 2 wallpapers and you toggle between lock (L) and home (R)

I tried and could not for the life of me find where to set lockscreen wallpaper, I can only find the option to change desktop to whatever I wanted.
I CAN however, change the lockscreen background to one of my ugly photos that I took, but not the stock wallpapers if I use gallery to set it.
The main thing I really wanted to do is to change the lock screen wallpaper to a dynamic wallpaper called Starfield 2, it is a black background with start wizzing by type of wallpaper, and more likely than not it would be saving energy on an AMOLED display. Plus, they just looked so much better than a standard bright and colorful wallpaper that never changes.
I dont think u can do live wallpapers on the lockscreen

I uninstalled the stock gallery already so I can't check there, but if I go into my gallery (QuickPic) I can select a picture, then go to the top right three dots, "Use as" and then I have to option to set it as lockscreen picture.

not on oneplus 3, but you can do that easily on Sony Xperia Z2 and other products (I got Z2 and Z4 tablet here, both does that just fine).
Does anyone know, how to change wallpaper without stock launcher?
Or better, how to set system to use the same wallpaper for lockscreen as my launcher?
I know that this is an old thread, but I'd like to see on lockscreen the same wallpaper I set on the system.
Is there a way on OOS 3.2.6?

Anyone found a solution? I want to use the google wallpaper apps daily backgrounds but it can't apply lockscreen wallpapers, only homescreen. Can we just delete the lockscreen wallpaper with a root explorer?
hello everyone, how to change the wallpaper for the lock screen under Nougat?
I use Nova for launcher.

Settings --> Display --> Wallpaper, and then pick Google Now Launcher even though you use Nova (I use Nova as well). When you select your pic, you will be prompted for lockscreen vs. homescreen vs. both. Pick lockscreen.
Nova will still be your launcher and everything will be the same, except you will now have separate wallpaper for your lockscreen.
Thank you

Do you know a way of clearing the lock sreen wallpaper. I have already set one with this method and now if I want the wallpaper to be the same on both home screen and lock screen, There doesn't seem to be any other choice but to do it this way again. I use Nova as well and now changing the wallpaper with Nova only changes the home screen. I would like to go back to being able to use nova to change both so I don't have to dive into the settings

My point was that if you set it with the Google now launcher once, you pretty much have to keep using the Google now launcher option. Unless you want your lock screen and home screen to be different

This is one of those magical opportunities where you can figure it out and share with the community. Or you can use the method I suggested which is only one additional step. Or you can use Action Launcher which natively allows you to select where to set the wallpaper.

Which is all good. I already knew how to set the lock screen wallpaper. Just wondering if there was a way to unset it so you didn't have to go through different launchers to do it. Guess it either hasn't been found or there's no current way. Maybe Nova just needs to be updated for that. Either way, If I find a way, I'll report back.

That's what I am thinking. The method I posted re: setting the lockscreen wallpaper really shouldn't be necessary -- you should be able to do it all from Nova.

It seems like you have a misconception as to "setting" a wallpaper. Once you set it, you can't "unset" it, you can only change it to something else. If you have set the lockscreen wallpaper to something, you would need to replace it with a different one in order for it to change, the device keeps no record of what wallpaper you had set before. It's just like Nova launcher, you can't just press "unset wallpaper" to go back to what you had before, you have to change it to a new one.
Stock android doesn't come with a lockscreen wallpaper option, so you have to "trick" it by changing the wallpaper on the stock launcher.

Correct. but I think that is probably the only way to convey what he is trying to say. On a completely fresh install of the OS and Nova, seeing the wallpaper (with Nova) changes both the lockscreen and homescreen wallpapers. If you use GNL to change them independently then from then on Nova only changes the homescreen wallpaper. So the question is out should be: How does one reset Nova's default handling of wallpapers?

I seem to have more than one lock screen. Is this possible? Originally I used Apex launcher and set different lockscreen wallpaper, to the wallpaper on the home screen, using this. Now I am using Nova Launcher and I have a another lockscreen, but I still have the original one and would like to delete this. Any suggestions please?

I think it should be as simple as uninstalling one if your launchers , if that doesn't work then make sure you only have one of the launchers mentioned in your post and clear the default settings for it via the app settings... Hope that helps.
Thanks for the suggestion, but it didn't clear the problem
