Hi!
My Spen w/o pressing the button, is able to function. But, when I press the button (on the Spen), it doesn't screen capture or trace the screen to lasso an image.
I tried it on another Note 2, my Spen works on theirs.
I tried their Spen on my Note 2, it didn't work.
Anyone notice this?
Thanks, team!

Did you try looking at the spen settings? If yes and still no progress. As he said, go to the service center or at least google your problem before going there as a last resort.

Hi guys.Do you know any way to take screenshots like on Samsung Galaxy S III.I mean swiping the screen from a side to the other side?I am rooted with AOKP B36.Thx
What's wrong with vol down+power? Seems that would be preferable over a gesture that could disturb the screen you're trying to capture.
The guy above me said it

How could it disturb the screen? You do know that it uses the proximity sensor, not touch right? Its not like you drag you hand on the screen.

Nope, had no idea. I'd still prefer the button method though. Knowing me, I'd look like a fool waving my hand around over my phone :/
On aokp press and hold power button and then press screenshot.

Sorry my english is not good.
On AOKP, you can also do the power/volume down.

For the longest time I thought my home button was broken! But it turns out if the s pen is govering the home button doesn't work. WHY?? Is it just me?
I have no idea what your question is... Can you re-explain this?
When the s pen is hovering/air view, the home button doesn't work.
Just tested it on my phone and it does the same thing. Home button does not work when the S-Pen is hovering. Not sure why but I'm guessing the phone thinks you are trying to do something on that particular page because the S-Pen is so close that it won't let you go "Home."
I think it's a safeguard that if your using the pen, it doesn't allow any touches, whether it be clicking something on the screen or using the home/capacitive buttons. Could be wrong, some things might still be usable, but that's how they explained it in one of the reviews(well they didn't mention the home button, but said you can't touch the screen while the pen is also active on the screen-so I assume it's the same for other selections)

Friends,
I use the Galaxy Note 2 to draw, when I draw the s-memo (s-note) in S-pen cursor disappears and this complicates the accuracy of the drawing.
Anyone know how to turn the cursor display when designing the s-memo?
Thank you.
I don't think there is a way... just draw on the screen like it was paper, you don't have a cursor on paper do you?

My s pen seems to be writing/selecting by itself without me actually pressing the button or touching the screen. Is this normal for you guys or do I have me a faulty s pen?

The Galaxy Note 1, you had the option to display the cursor's S-Pen when he was sketching the S-memo.
The S-Pen has a small gap where the pen tip touches to the sketched line in the S-memo, it hinders much when making a design that requires precision.
Radrian92, that sometimes happens to me.
You may be able to adjust your S-pen; I had a similar problem and adjusted mine to solve it. Here are the instructions I found for the adjustment.

Think I'll "smack" it first than if that doesn't do the trick I'll proceed with the other step lol

Hi,
Have noticed when trying to trace an image with my s-pen on the screen with the button pushed that sometimes it just doesn't seem to "take" and capture the image even though I have traced all the way around to the little beginning circle. This seems to happen mostly if I am tracing a smaller image.
Am I doing something wrong or is this just a bug? If it is a bug is there a way to fix it?
SECONDARY QUESTION:
It seems the only way to crop out a square image is to do a screen capture by pushing down the s-pen button and pressing it to the screen then using the crop tool. However, it would be nice to be able to actually draw a perfect crop square in the same way we do a trace capture. Is there any combination of buttons that does that?
I have noticed on my Note 10.1 tablet that I can trace an image in one multiview screen then just drag the into s-notes in the other pane and it pastes. However, with the GN2 this "drag and drop" doesn't seem to work. Am I doing something wrong?
Last thing. Have noticed that on my Note 10.1 I can do a screen capture of the active multiview pane; however, with the GN2 it seems to capture both multiview panes then squishes the entire capture into one pane. Again, am I doing this wrong or is that a bug?
Thanks!
for perfect squares, well and now everything I have been lasso'ing a larger area and then using the photo editor app to crop them down ...for the reason that I noticed the longer I take to get a clean lasso the less chance I have of it working.
Interesting find on the screenshot deal. If I take a screen shot by hand swipe it is normal. Taking it with the pen results in squished screen.
As for the drag and drop I swear it worked out of the box...then the ljc update changed it but I could be wrong. I just know it does not work that way anymore. Similarly I recal draggingbthe lasso'd image to say messaging in the icons at bottom of screen ...now after the update I just hit messaging

I guess the point is that there are a number of things which work as they should on the Note 10.1 that don't seem to work that way on the GN2. It's not a screen real estate issue so I'm not sure what the problem is.
Just seems kind of buggy to me, especially the tracing part.
My Note 10.1 came with a specially designed version of photoshop but I'm not seeing that on my GN2. Am I missing it? I guess I just expected these to be close to the same except smaller. Maybe not.
For instance on the Note 10.1 in multiview each pane gets its own Min, Max and Close buttons but not here. Odd.

I know about those who but they aren't the same. On the Note 10.1 each frame has its own buttons which remain persistent. Like in Windows. Much better.

I find it works best to hold the button, draw your shape/circle then lift the pen with the button still held... works every time.

I can't tap on the menu button and back button with the s-pen on GN2.
Is there a way to get the s-pen to take you back to the home screen ?
I read some thread (from 2011 and 2012) about "menu button" and "return button" of GN2 and I wanted to know if definitively it was impossible to use these two buttons with s-pen.
Today I'm on custom Rom Android 4.3 DN3.
For the moment I use "GMD Spen Control.apk" who is a good substitut.
Maybe There's a way to make these keys work with the s-pen
Your advice is welcome
It's a hardware feature.. so not possible with our note 2.

OK, i understand. :good:
So, definitely no solution to make it work directly with s-pen
Only solution is by the screen itself and with an app
Many thanks for quick reply and explanation
