Hi, my screen won't auto rotate and games that feature accelerometer support do not work at all. Would you guys know if this is possibly a software issue that could be fixed by perhaps reinstalling the stock ROM or maybe in an update or is this something my nexus 7 needs to be RMAed for?
Is anyone else having this issue or is it just me? I've tried rebooting into safe mode and flashing a new kernel but neither have worked. Any help would be appreciated.

Do you have your rotation locked for your auto rotate by any chance. I'm sure you already checked this but I figured I'd ask.

That's what I thought.
I guess I'll be heading out to Staples tomorrow to get it replaced.
I have this issue too. The screen always keeps landscape mode although I places the tablet vertically. However, I bought it from amazon and there is no retail stores like Staples in my country. Should I send it to ASUS Royal Club for repairing?
Got it fix just now by re-installing the stock firmware.

I have had this problem since I rooted my phone a week ago. Got it fix just now by re-installing the stock firmware.
I've just had a new Nexus 7 delivered and ran a system update.
The accelerometer doesn't seem to work on my Nexus 7 either, and AndroSensor just displays 'Waiting for event' under the accelerometer and other sections.
Am I going to have to RMA this already?

I've tried that, but it hasn't made a different. The accelerometer seems to be broken in safe mode too.

I have had this problem with my Nexus 7 2013 for a while, but only today fixed it!
If it's a software problem then a factory reset should fix it.
If you want a software fix you will probably need an app like smart rotation or something!
My problem was fixed with hardware! Open the rear cover and apply some tape to the ribbon cable on the back of the battery near the ZIF connector, problem solved so far!

I found a thread on buying another one and replacing it, but the eBay link is dead. My stepdad has an old HTC Droid Incredible. Does it charge on the wall charger?
If your phone is under warranty get the whole thing replaced. There are a few sites that sell the part if its not anymore. Look for Incredible 2 or S the part is identical. I have replaced mine its not difficult. I found a video on youtube that showed the whole process. BTW the part is like 5-10 and look for a tool kit if you dont have tiny torx drivers.

i just did one for a Samsung Galaxy (it was the StraightTalk one). I definitely don't recommend something this ridiculously tough... a 7 wire USB plug! Unfortunately, one of the pads came off and it was a loss...
alright, i went up to verizon and they're sending me a new one for free. the thing is i gotta send my old phone back.
i'm rooted with s-off running cm7, should i restore my nandroid back up of sense 2.1/android 2.3.3 then update back to 2.3.4, do you think they'll notice i rooted it?

No soldiering required to replace the charge port I've done it to 3 dinc2 and its just a ribbon cable and the part is only 8 bucks on eBay its really simple if you have the right size tools

It does not.touch s-off, ive turned 3 of them in with no problems, and along with the other 1000 that used that method.
Bootlooping? You shouldn't be. Did you wipe data/dalvik/ factory reset. It.should boot right up. To setup screen than pull battery and send In

My charge port is so bad I pretty much have to hold the plug to make it charge so looks like I'm ordering parts from eBay tonight , while Im at it I might replace the front speaker too , anyone know if the speaker connections are soldered ? I'd take mine apart but don't have a torx atm.hopefully I can fix it cuz I really don't want a different phone

I've returned a couple with stock ROM and one with cm7 still on it (all were S off) with no problems I wouldn't worry.

I couldn't S-On my phone because my port was dead. I took it to Best Buy (where I bought it and pay for Geek Squad BTP); they took it and ordered me a new one which arrived two days later. SO far I haven't heard anything about it. Maybe since the issue was the charging port and not the software itself, they didn't care? IDK...

Guys, I have another white GN2 (brand new). Currently, anyone on the other end cannot hear me on this phone. They hear garbled sound or as others call it, robotic voice.
I have tried rooting it and installed stock rooted rom. That didn't fix the issue though.
Any suggestions? Could it be the radio? Can someone point me on how to replace it, or reinstall the radio?

Was this before you rooted and installed another ROM? If it came defective from factory why not just return and get a new one... it could be a bad mic (ie. hardware problem) so you might not be able to fix it...

Like this when I got it. I thought it could have been a hardware (mic) problem as well. But if I put it on speaker phone, the other party all of a sudden can hear me. So hardware has to be ok.
Last option would be to return, but I"m trying to avoid that.
Turn off the Autotune feature... JK I would root, backup, and factory reset to make sure it wasn't something installed. If you still have issues try to exchange.

thanks. looks like it's a bad mic. i have tried speaking the address in google navigation and it doesn't even register. even in s-voice it doesn't register anything i say.
so i called tmobile and a replacement is being sent overnight. now how do I unroot this bad boy so I can return it without issues??
I had this same problem, but mine was not fixed by putting it on speaker phone. The only way to fix it was to end and call that person again.

nothing i do now works.... so i'm just waiting for the replacement to come in. I bought 4 GN2s and sadly this is the only one with that issue....
on side note, white note 2 or the titanium grey one? The defective is white and the one I'm currently using is titanium grey? and I'm a male not female.... not sure if I'll take the white one and give the grey to my brother, or keep this and give the white to him.

I thought at the beginning that the S-Pend is defected, but after trying it in a different Note 2 devices it worked fine. Now, the problem is in the screen, it does not recognize this Spend and neither other pens I tried on it. I have a screen protector, but the S-Pen was working fine on it before. What do you this is the reason behind this strange action??

try a hard reset.
Does the phone still detect when the s pen is taken out of/placed into the phone?
If not, it could be an issue of that coupled with s-pen battery saving being enabled.

Excellent question! Try rebooting your device. If no go there back up your needed things and factory reset/restore the device. If that fails and you are on a custom rom go back to stock and test.
Thanks a lot .. I was on an original ROM with Root enabled. I did a factory rest multiple times. i even installed the CM10.1 ROM to test it but with no luck!
And the phone recognize that the pen is pulled out when I pull out the S-Pen ..

Might sound basic, but are u using magnets around it? My pen doesnt work when i have the case on, because it has a magnet on it. It may be that. Try it without the case on.
Hard reset = losing ALL of your internal storage (game data, etc), and starting afresh, like you did when u first took it out of the box. Sometimes called a factory restore/reset.
Thanks a lot for the follow up. Yes I had a case with magnet. I now removed this magnet from the case. I'm now without the magnet for almost 5 days with no luck. Does the magnet may corrupt the screen?

After reading this thread I noticed that the part of the screen that does not work with the s-pen is where the magnet is on my case. After I removed the case, the s-pen worked perfectly.
Thanks to this thread it has spared me from lining up at the Samsung service center though I'm now off to get me a new case.

I have this problem too, actully wifi and blutooth become very weak and i must go to near the modem and blutooth become very weak too...

I have this same problem a few months, according to a person specialized in htc, all the devices of the one line are having serious problems of hardwere, where a part responsible for the signal power fails by oxidation of the solder causing the problem, becomes unviable The repair due to the risk of resolda of the plate cause a general failure in the device, the chances are 50% of success. The low chance of success is related to the type of solder used, being able to use the resolda to damage the plate of low thermal resistance. Sorry for the bad english of google.

Now wifi, bluetooth and gps are working as it should be.

Worked like a magic. At 1st it was only wifi was not working.. but after I've done some research i found out that Bluetooth and also fm radio too not working.
Knocking below cam worked. Thanks very much.
Btw.. one more question.. my rear cam don't focus. Its all blury.. any suggestions?

I tried this out of desperation. haha. and alas! it worked! thanks!!
Hi, my nexus 5x is unable to be powered on, with a red notification light flashing when i hold power button more than 10s.
Tried combinations of all buttons for more than 10 seconds each, to no avail.
Charged for more than 4 hours, swapped chargers, swapped cables, to no avail.
I am unable to boot, therefore unable to go into recovery or bootloader to flash anything at all.
please advice!
Have you tried turning it on while connected to the charger after an hour or so?
You may need to return it, is it still under warranty?
What did you do?
Did you root? Custom roms? Battery dead? Flashed wrong image?
Just got mine back from LG for this same BS after only 2months new. They wiped everything and said it was faulty screen cable/ribbon. Came back with no screen protector so I guess the replaced the screen as well. Warranty it. There's nothing you can do. I tried every fix, combo, cables.

I did flash TWRP, custom rom and kernel but the devs over at the threads said it might more possibly be a battery issue...

It says "Qualcomm HS-USB QLoader 9008 (COM4)"
after meddling with power buttons, it'll randomly register and unregister in my PC

the sad part is that my country doesn't sell nexus 5x, i imported using ebay, hope he's nice to help me do a warranty!

Can you getit to stay connected? there is a thread here about using lg software and a file as a last resort that can bring back a phone.
Search for it here and if no one beats me to it ill post a link when i jump on my comp soon.

i live in singapore! they sell the 6P here but not the 5X...

I've contacted my seller on ebay and he is checking with LG for me!
I tried those methods and they also don't work, mostly because of compatibility issues.
It's a real vexing situation for me.

I've been calling LG to and i must go to LG to check the phone , it's far from my home .
yeah i know , it's very vexing me to . i have nexus 5 it's been 1 year without any problem .
Where I live there's no support for the 5x yet. So I send it with a friend to USA and contacted LG to send it as RMA. They say they fixed it.. replacing some board.. I don't know, I still didn't get it back. hahaha.
LG is your friend =)
