Is there a Remote control/RDP/VNC/Whatever app that supports 1:1 S-pen to mouse movement?
I have tried many apps so far, but none of them supported hovering, just clicks (mouse was standing still until I clicked something).

doubt it... have you tried team viewer? cause they are the only ones who managed to perform a remote control into a Samsung phone from a pc and vice versa meaning they have intensively worked with touchwiz software libraries I guess so maybe they have s pen support !!

GoToMyPC seems to do just that. While hovering the S-Pen over my Note 3 it mirrored a mouse movement on my PC. It was a nice improvement, but not as great as I it could have been, since the resolution is way off and you still need to use movements to move the viewable area or be left with really tiny screen. And more importantly, GoToMyPC is extremely pricy to maintain - about 10$ a month... Really isn't worth it for me, but feel free to test it with the 30 days trial.
I'm also installing right now the VirtualTablet app. Remote controlling the PC isn't their main aim, but it does mention as a side feature of the program. It might prove to be helpful.
For everybody that is still looking for that: official RDP app from Microsoft does that job wonderfully. And if you are running AOSP based ROM, you can also hold S-pen button to right click.

Is there an app that acts like a play station 3 remote? it would be nice to use my tablet or galaxy nexus to control the PS3 for movies or other things like the browser and menu.

I think he means remote, not controller.
In any case, I'd like to know as well. So far I haven't had any luck.

Yes, just set the buttons accordingly to a real PS3 controller
It's actually quite funny how it works Using you phone as a controller and tablet as console really gives a "yo dawg..." Xzibit-ish impression. However, I noticed my phone battery dies really quickly using this app.

I used the blueputdroid app....it is ok...i wish it had a keyboard so you can type in the web browser or search fields. It has a gesture remote control where you just gesture around with your finger and it draws a line with it. but i am looking for something more that has more features.

Sweet thanks, I may have to give that a try. I'll need to root my device first I guess.
This is one of the best keyboard and mouse sharing apps Ive used. If you use your N7 near your PC a lot, this is for you.

This looks very well done and the reviews have been good. I've been looking for exactly this type of app! Thanks!
Really great, exactly what I search for.
Suggestions:
- Option to disable the switching area
- Switching by double clicking the taskbar icon
- Better performance over wifi
- Option to use the right mouse button as given under Android (I think a few apps actually respond to it).
- Map tap and hold (probably not possible)
- Option to map the multitouch key
- Left + right mouse button for multitouch

can i use it for FPS android games?
I have been using ShareKM for a couple months ago and was working perfectly until today when i updated my nexus 7 to 4.3
The cursor is INVISIBLE,, i can move it, touch, toogle with ctrl + win, everything is fine even the keyboard but the fact that the cursor is invisible is pretty useless.
someone with the same issue?

So what did you find in the end? Anything that works with linux on the PC end? PC Loves Droid - is that Windows only?
I'm experiencing the same issue using Nexus 7, 4.3, and ShareKM. I've asked around and haven't found any alternatives yet.
Cool! Does it work with USB keyboard mouse?
Yeap, facing the invisible cursor issue. Mailed the developer but no reply yet.
There's another app, BBQScreen: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.bbqdroid.bbqscreen
It's basically a vnc/rdp type app that allows you to control your tablet from your pc by remote connection. Doesn't work yet on 4.3, but the developer seems active and says it'll be supported soon.
Still having an invisible cursor and now it is having trouble connecting to my Nexus 7. It will only connect if I have the Nexus Root Toolkit application open, otherwise it doesn't recognize that I have a device connected. It has to do with the USB driver possibly, but I've reinstalled the drivers several times and never get a new authorization pop-up. I wish this thing would get updated or a reliable alternative would come out.
I have the same invisible cursor issue on Nexus 7 2013
yeah i'd connect perfectly, except cursor is invisible

While sending an E-mail is fine, please don't leave one star reviews on apps just because an update broke it especially if it is completely FREE like sharekm. It's not the dev's fault at all, there is no way for the dev to have known that a new update would break his code. Its reviews like that discourage devs. You are right this app is "baller" but please be a little more understanding, SmartUX (the developer of ShareKM) does not even have a donation method and as far as I can tell makes NO money off ShareKM. I really hope he updates his app, and if you ever come across this SmartUX; please add a donation method or even flattr on your site, I would love to support you.

I understand what you mean for the 1 star review, but I will say I do it because its an attention grabber. I always update reviews if the app is fixed. Devs also have the ability to respond to reviews. I understand it wasn't his fault, but for any new user who downloads it TODAY, but review is accurate. Part of being a good dev is continued support.
That being said, I understand this is a free app. I cannot BELIEVE it is free. If there was a paid version, I would very much so pony up $5-$10 for this app. Seriously.
Would be great if this worked... can only connect with nexus root toolkit open and still getting an invisible pointer on 4.3 nexus 7 (2013). keyboard portion works great though.
I tried enabling "pointer location" in dev options, but that just instantly crashes the tablet when the mouse is clicked...
"show touches" can be enabled, but pointer clicks don't count as touches I guess. Any other ideas?

If anyone else is looking for a similar program to this that works in android 4.3, there is now an alpha version of synergy for android available here:
http://sourceforge.net/p/synergyandroid/
It's a little buggy, but it works. Shows a mouse pointer and everything. I had to hit scroll lock a few times to get it working initially
I've been using this app for awhile and it's amazing. It had been working great until I updated my Nexus 4 to CM 10.2 yesterday and now I have the invisible cursor as well, so same as everyone else the 4.3 is causing the issue. I use this app at work and can't live without it at this point . Hoping for a fix really soon.
Funny thing is, I have CM10.2 Nightlies on both my N7 (OG) and S3... the cursour shows on the S3, but not on the N7.
Hey all -
These are probably basic questions, and I tried searching in this forums here, wasn't too successful, so I figured I'd throw this out there. My last phone was a Galaxy S 1 (yeah, *1*. Fascinate, from Verizon), so I have many generations of advancements I'm wading through.
I've seen the ads, and have had VERY limited success with the 'Air' things - like scrolling using your eyes (or tilting device). The 'touch' to me seems a little.. pointless, since it only registers me when I'm a fraction of a centimeter away from the screen - at that distance, it's just easier TOUCHING the screen.
Is this everyone's experience? Or is my phone just trying to keep its distance from me? Or are my hands and eyes defective? (A possibility!)
Also, are there any other recommended 'Remote Control' apps that can control multiple things (like my TV, DVD player) without requiring anything extra (liks a server or app on the TV, etc.) - Similar to the 'S Watch' app, which is focused on what's on TV instead of controlling it.
--Me.
The air things and motions are all a bit gimmicky, they were on the GS3 and they are now. I'd recommend just turning them most/all of them off and enjoying the phone. As for a remote app I think we need to wait for Samsung to release the API so that apps can use the IR blaster. Although I've found the WatchOn app works great, just ignore the suggestions, there's also an option to put the whole remote in the notifications bar if you want to bypass the app entirely.

I doubt you're the only one. The Eye Scroll feature is just straining my eyes trying to get the phone to detect. Waste of time right now (too much lag). The Air Gestures are, as you said, kind of pointless and a waste of time. I have actually disabled all the "Smart" or "Air" features for now until they become more responsive and/or more useful.
WatchOn (/Peel Smart Remote) works pretty well for me. I'm able to control my TV, DVR (though I prefer the FiOS Remote app for this). Haven't tried with my DVD player yet, but then again, I haven't used my DVD player in a while.
Thanks guys.
I have it all disabled now - well, I DID before I installed CM10.1. One App on the App Store that said it supported the S 4 reported back to me that my 'device' was missing the hardware for the IR blaster. So once reflash stock, I'll keep with the WatchOn app for now.
I'm coming from the GS1 Vibrant, so there is definitely an adjustment period. While the 'Air' and 'Smart' features are gimmicky for sure, the Air features has its moments. Similar to their commercial about the "pool party," if ur hands are sticky, dirty, etc you can check for missed calls/texts if the screen is off. If the screen is on you can read entire texts. However, for me it isn't working with texts very consistently. As for the Smart features I disabled them all as I can see no consistent and practical use for them. I figure its only a matter of time before I turn off all the Air features as well. As for the IR blaster, it works perfectly. I'm just waiting for the NFL season to start so I can tune the bar tvs to the game I want to watch
After a little bit of experimentation and looking like a fool I've determined that the only air/motion feature that I'm going to leave on is the "Air View > Information Preview." The hovering your finger to get a preview in Gallery/Calendar/Messages is actually pretty useful.

The watchon app works pretty good. They keep updating it getting more and more codes. You can add a bunch of devices to control. I have my tv, cable box and receiver working. And set up to change the volume on the receiver.

Is anybody aware of an app or tweak or whatever that would allow the S-Pen to work in every app, maybe for the price of acting like a dumb touch stick? There is ton of apps (games) that fail to register S-Pen input at all. I'm not expecting that all the S-Pen associated bells and whistles would work, but it would be mighty nice to have the damn thing always available for basic touch input...
it works like that already.
regular touching works in every app, special support is only needed for S-pen button and pressure sensitivity.

Nope it doesn't work in some apps and games like temple run ..

in that case you can consider it a bug/design flaw in the app/game.
it might look directly at what it thinks is the touch sensor, which gives faster response times but also more compatibility problems.
properly designed apps just rely on touch signals provided by android.
it wouldn't surprise me if that game has issues with mice as well.
for apps/games that disregard good practice like that all you can do is report it as a bug to the developer.
in the past many "professional" motion controlled games suffered from the same problems(gameloft, EA, etc.)
Try to disable air view if the pen is not recognised in apps.

Thanks. I'm happy using CloverPaint as a standalone drawing package especially with the constant addition of new features that are making it comparable to a full windows drawing package. I just like exploring additional options so that I can make sure I'm getting the most of my tech. People pay £100s for a wacom tablet so having one I can use already included in this tablet is a great positive. I'll try out virtualtablet.
