[Q] HTC One X Stuck in Bootloop - HTC One X

Here are the problems:
The phone is in a bootloop.
The power button and volume buttons are unresponsive meaning I can't put it into fastboot or anything.
If I do manage to put it into fast boot, it reboots after about 5 seconds.
After about 30 reboots it shuts off, but if I plug it into my PC it restarts the bootloop.
How do I fix it?!
Please help
Edit: I also can't charge it.

Try adb reboot recovery to see if that helps. Should be able to do it in part of the bootloop

[Q] Stuck on Quietly brilliant and CANT enter fastboot

Hi All, I have read quite a few threads to try and help me but seem to have bricked my phone.
I was in the process of flashing my phone to ARHD.
I got all the way through and now seem to be stuck at the HTC Quietly brilliant screen following a reboot from Recovery mode.
When I try and go back into fast boot or recovery it will not let me it just goes back to HTC quietly brilliant.
As I cant turn the phone off totally, What can I do to force it into fast boot,
The phone is a HTC_001 and was fully up to date with the stock SW b4 i started to play.
Just to confirm once again, phone will NOT boot into fastboot or recovery following a failed flash to ARHD and phone is stuck on quietly brilliant screen.
Please help. Thanks in advance.
to enter fastboot, hold power for like 10-15s causing phone to force restart....then once screen is completely black, release power and press and hold volume down until u see bootloader screen....then enter fastboot...
have u made a backup of ur stock rom before experimenting???
seems like u have not flashed the boot.img in fastboot....
give some details...
Hi mihirengg19
Tried that but just shakes and goes back to the quietly brilliant screen and to your other questions NO and NO
Any more idea's apart from using a sledge hammer ? lol
just try again....now hold (power+vol down)....or repeat what i said above...
hi again mihirengg19
Ok holding power and vol - down together.
after a few seconds the soft buttons flash, screen goes black
I release the power button. Phone Vibrates I release vol - and HTC Quietly brilliant comes back onto the screen. tried this about 30+ times now always same result.
u must be doing something wrong....u should be able to enter into bootloader...

I know, this is what is worrying me, at the current rate the battery will be flat in no time as the screen is on max brightness, is it best to leave it go flat so it turns off completely ?
just tried it another 2 times now, still the same. ? holding down the VOL - (bottom rocker button) still locked on the HTC screen
u can try this-when the phone drains down, plug it into the wall. see if the recovery screen appears...
Did you try via PC and command "adb reboot bootloader" ?

Keep volume down held down.
Which ARHD are you trying to install, 16? Did you update your bootloader to 1.3x?

ok, Hold power down only for 10 seconds, keep holding until the buttons flash and the screen goes black, then release power and immediately hold power down the phone should then boot into fastboot mode
I would also suggest 'adb reboot recovery' from command Prompt while stuck.. Or 'adb reboot bootloader' followed by 'fastboot erase cache'. Maybe reflash boot.img and erase cache again...

Not sure if this will help at all, but in this post you said when the screen goes black you released the power button. Maybe try and hold both buttons down for about 30 seconds to be safe, and if the bootloader still doesn't show up, I don't really know what else to suggest.

SOrry this is a bit late, but i had the same problem and I fixed it after loads of errors.
Just remove your sim card and hold volume down and power till it goes into bootloader!

brick after antutu running in overclock

hi, today running antutu benchmack after a cpu and gpu overclock using epsilon project with viper kernel the phone suddenly turned off and now don't turn on. If i connect it to pc the screen turn on and appear the battery animation. After this the screen shutdown and the red led stuck flashing. the phone also enter in download mode, but i can't flash the firmware with kdz.
If i connect the phone to the wall charger the red led start flashing.
Have i burned something? The phone is dead or is there any solution?
thanks in advance.

keep pressing power for extended time so it will shutdown proper, leave it as it for 10 mins or so.
plug in wall charger and if you get battery animation let it charge to 100
after that try kdz, if it still gives you error and you are sure you dont have drivers issue, than yes somethings wrong.

i can't do anything. I'm only able to enter in download mode. :crying:
Is there some method to recover data from internal memory in download mode? adb devices command don't see any devices connected
http://www.chip.de/downloads/Universal-ADB-Treiber_61437026.html
install adb driver!
The phone is resurrected. I just disconnected and reconnected the battery.
Thanks to all

I have faced a weird problem with antutu. During the test, my phone reboots, then got stuck in bootanimation. After turning it off, then restarting it, it is fine. So it is antutu problem.

Is my M8 bricked?

Ok folks, normally I figure these things out but this one has me a bit concerned.
I was in ViperROM HUB and installed a font package, it needed to restart in recovery to install, so I allowed it. I turned to my computer and when I next looked at my phone the screen is off and refuses to come on. When depress the power button I get a vibration feedback but the screen won't come on. I tried VOL DOWN and POWER but nothing is happening. Im gonna let the battery run dead and see if that will resolve it.
Has anyone encountered anything like this before?

Hey!
I dont think its bricked.
Ghost helped me out with my problem, see below solution.
Try holding POWER + VOLUME UP for 20 seconds and it should restart.
However my case was different I was stuck in HTC logo screen and no way to restart.
On the M8 it is Power and Vol Up to perform a "battery pull".

Thanks grega_slo and gaiden0000 for the quick response and spot on advice.
I did that before but it didn't work, it works now…guess I didn't hold VOL UP long enough.
Yeah I didn`t know about VOLUP either
It scared the crap out of me when I S-OFFed the device and was stuck haha

having the same problem. flashed cyanogen nightly and when it rebooted got to the splash and then black. nothing. none of the above methods seems to bring it back. I can hold the power and vol up and get the splash to reappear but still goes to black. any thoughts of have I really bricked this phone?

Put the usb cable in then press vol up and power until it restarts. As soon as you hear the ding on your pc press and hold vol down and power, you should then boot into hboot MENU.

never seem to hear a 'ding' or any other sound but no matter how I time it - power/vol up then power/vol down still results in htc splash then just black. Phone was quite warm (not quite hot) when I went to bed last night and this morning battery was at "0". When I first plugged it in and pushed the power button it alternated from the battery charging display to the TWRP locked screen but I couldn't seem to get it to stay on the TWRP screen no matter what I did. Now that I've used power/vol up I don't seem to get the battery or TWRP. just black or when trying power/vol up I get the splash. Power/vol down gives nothing - just black
EDIT: Just tried - let battery go dead. Plug in to computer hold power/vol down. Screen goes from battery icon to blank and back to battery icon.
EDIT: Pulled and reformatted sd card in Evo 4g LTE. Retried fastboot command still just shows "waiting for device". Even tried adb reboot bootloader and reply "device not found"
Could I use adb to reflash ruu? If so would the command be adb flash (filename)
Was beginning to lose hope of ever fixing this but a HUGE shout out to Simer03 who provided the critical piece of information - namely - add a ROM zip to your sd card. Hope nobody else ever has this problem but just in case
Post #4 here
Nothing is going to work unless you can either enter the boot loader or boot into the os.
You should still be able to access hboot unless that is corrupt. At the very least you need to hear the ding on your pc so you know the pc has recognized your device is connected.
Try again with vol up and power, hold until it reboots you should then hear that ding. If not check you have the necessary usb drivers installed on your pc or try a different usb cable.

Only HTC logo shines

I get a HTC One m8 for free but when I turned on the mobile as the HTC logo is lit with red warning (This build id for ...) and nothing happens, then it can not turn off. Mobile should be unlocked with a custom recovery but did not make it further .. any ideas?

Try entering bootloader mode (hold Power + Volume Down). Go to FBOOT and then try entering recovery. If you can enter recovery, and it's TWRP or CWM, then you might be able to flash a custom ROM from external SD.
The previous owner may have tried to do a factory reset, but ended up wiping the system as well.
If that fails, you may be able to flash the proper RUU for your device.

I just have to wait until discharged and then try bootloader mode

That doesn't make sense. You should be able to enter bootloader mode even if there's no OS installed.
Keep us updated.
Buttons can also hold two minutes but nothing happens, I have to wait until it is discharged to turn off because now it can not be turn off

Hold power and vol up, for 30 seconds or more. This will force a reboot. The moment the screen goes dark (signalling its shutdown, and about to reboot) let go of those buttons, then only hold vol down. Don't let go until you see bootloader.
This method works reliably, and failure usually means you either didn't start pressing vol down soon enough, or let go too early. So just repeat the process, until it works.
Nothing worked .. If the mobile on, button did not work .. Only when completely discharged so I could turn it into bootloader and custom recovery and install custom rom, so that already works well.

infinite boot loop

Hey,
Yesterday I ran out of battery, when I got home I charged it.
After 15-20 mins or so, I tried turning it on, since then the phone is on an infinite loop.
It's displaying the lg logo, buttons are flashing and the home button changes colors.
If i unplug it from the charger it wont turn on at all.
It has cyanogen mode, not sure which version.
I've tried almost everything:
Removed the battery a million times, tried every button combination possible to enter recovery mode, connected it to my PC.
I have managed to get to the hard reset screen, pressed the power button twice to confirm, but still nothing happens and the infinite loop returns.
Any suggestions?
Thanks and sorry for my english.

Does it show charging screen or is just stuck on LG boot splash? Let it charge for a while, and then try booting without cable.

Nothing appearing over LG logo? Try booting with Power+Vol UP and release them and press Vol Down as soon as keys flash, I've managed to boot mine with broken battery that way.
Also, last resort - if you're sure your battery is 100% functioning, try entering download mode and reflashing.
